00:00I'd just like to conclude with these words that were painted for me by Tony Colbert.
00:06Stephen has been honoured with a number of State Awards from Australia, Indonesia, and the Philippines
00:14for his contributions to Australia and across the Asian region,
00:19including a member of the Order of Australia and Australia's Centennial Medal in the year 2000.
00:26He has also received many awards for contributions to local communities across Asia.
00:33He has been elected fellow of several international academic academies and societies,
00:40including the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering,
00:45the World Innovation Foundation, and most recently, this was in 2020, the Royal Society of New South Wales.
00:56The oldest and most respected scholarly society, a country that goes back to 1831,
01:04where he immediately served two years as elected member of the Council.
01:11Stephen has been formally named Herba.
01:15Oh, yeah, Herba, I think that might be the way it's pronounced.
01:20After the last king of the Uros,
01:26in the main ceremony,
01:29the Bartak Nation of Indonesia's Sumatra,
01:34Indonesia's Sumatra,
01:35and honoured by Indigenous tribute ceremonies,
01:38including the Dhani tribe of West Papua,
01:42which ceremonially inducted in as an honouring tribal chief.
01:52You can't believe it at that,
01:53because I think that's the way it should be resonating,
01:56that we should live in this place with those words resonating in our minds.
02:00Stephen,
02:01of course,
02:01our tribe,
02:02he was one who's led the way,
02:05inspired us, inspired us,
02:08and contributed much to our happiness in the world,
02:11being with our world.
