00:00Now, to get the tension up and going, we're throwing in a challenging AI cast as well.

00:26And we have a very much, like, a high-risk, high-reward gameplay.
00:29So, uh, this is a match-based game, right?
00:32So before you go in, you gear up, you bring your cool as shit, as cool as you can.
00:36It's going to help you in the battlefield.
00:38Uh, on the other hand, if you die, you lose all that stuff and your life as well.
00:43This is a permadeath game, right?
00:44Permadeath, okay.
00:45Yeah, so basically, we want to borrow a lot of stuff from survival games where those really, really intense PvP
00:51moments happen,
00:52where you don't know if you should attack or not.
00:54Like, should I go there? Should I not go there? What should I do?
00:58And your life depends on it, right?
00:59You're gambling with your life.
01:01We need to get across the idea that there's a fear of loss going on with this as well.
01:04If you don't fear loss, if you don't have something to lose, you know, that risk just disappears.
01:08That's what I'm saying.
01:08When you say you gear up, how do you gear up?
01:11This is in the beginning of the game.
01:12In the beginning of the match, you see a tactical map, you see what monsters are going to do,
01:16and then you're gearing up accordingly, what you think is going to be worth it, right?
01:20Are you gearing up within the game or before you enter the game?
01:22Before you enter the game.

01:23And then the match itself is divided into three sections, basically.
01:28This is the tracking your target thing.
01:30So you have a detective mode, which can see dark energy.

01:33Right, so that helps you, because I don't want to see any hot elements.

01:38Now, here's the typical encounter for AI encounters here, right?
01:42They are really there to challenge you to use your gear differently.

01:53On the other hand, all the other teams out there might see that flare, right?

01:57So, and now we ended up in a bit of a combat situation.
02:00This encounter didn't go so well for us, actually, when we played it.
02:02You'll see here, it's like a bunch of bad players playing badly, right?
02:04We go in there, we tried to do a cool thing, and it turned it around on us, and we

02:08to retreat.

02:14And so the whole point with this game, with the AI, is to, we want to create the unknown
02:19here, and always make you guess what's around the corner here, right?
02:21Like, is it a player?
02:23Is it an AI?
02:24What could it be?
02:26And, oh, okay, I'm missing it.
02:28So this is the detector mode.
02:30I'm spotting, like, dark energy in the world.
02:32It helps me to guide around.
02:33If I get there, I can connect, kind of like, I have some superpowers to connect with the
02:38boss, and that's going to narrow down his location, right?
02:41Is that what creates the dark energy that you see?

02:44Yeah, there's like a detector mode.
02:46I have a bit of hell inside of me.
02:47I have a skill, right?
02:48So when I use this one, I can see a little bit of the underworld, right?

03:22These are like magnets for other players.
03:23Other players are searching for the same thing.

03:25So if you don't play carefully and watch out here and do some teamwork, you might be in

04:12So it's, again, high risk, high reward gameplay.

04:18So you're not just searching for the beast, the monsters and stuff like that.
04:23You're gearing up to your advantage, right?

05:12And obviously the VoIP and stuff in game is going to be positional.

05:45They're going to attract AI to you.
05:46The map should speak to you.

06:42It's all about a mystery in the darkness and the unknown.

06:50It's a human mixed with a spider.
06:53He climbs on walls and roofs.
06:56You need to be sure to be fast here because there could be another team coming and fighting
06:59him at the same time, right?

07:02So our game is very dynamic.
07:04It's like if you and me were playing it right and we hear these guys playing it, we might as
07:08well just wait for them to do it and then we go in for the kill in the end, right?

07:12Like you let them take the brunt.
07:13It's a perfectly legitimate strategy for players to go in and try to hunt another team.
07:18At this point, I'm being jump...
07:20Yeah, he just jump attacks and everything, right?
07:22As you see, you see him one time, then he's gone the other.

07:26That is a super quick spider.

07:30So at this point now, we have killed him in order to get the bounty and we need to banish
07:34him to hell.
07:35Now I understand kind of like I'm getting more and more like you guys are bounty hunters.
07:39You want to banish these guys and you get paid.
07:41Exactly that.
07:41And when we do, there's a burning spot on the map.
07:45Every player in the whole map now sees where this is.
07:48This is why it's called Hunt Showdown.

07:50Everybody going to go there.
07:51Everybody going to duke it out.

07:54That's like actually really cool.
07:56The other interesting thing about that is, like I mentioned before, is it's a legitimate
07:59strategy for the players to just ignore the clues, ignore the target and hunt the other
08:03teams who are hunting the target.
08:04You can stalk another series of hunters going out there.
08:07As you see in the left corner up there, there's like a little timer ticking.
08:09So everybody kind of have time to get there.
08:12Oh, okay.
08:13Here I'm being, I'm being, I'm being slapped.
08:18So here's where we have like the revive mechanic, right?
08:21Like I died, he can revive me, but I lose a health chunk, right?
08:25Right.
08:26Okay.
08:26So basically for us, since we got there first, this is a defensive mission at this
08:30point, right?
08:30Yeah.
08:31And all the threats we had coming in are now perfect for us because we will hear dogs barking
08:36if the players come in too close to them.
08:37So we can all, again, like listening to the environment and use it to your advantage,
08:41right?
08:41That's, that's actually something I wanted to touch on as far as the sound design goes.
08:45Like, I love it when you, when you actually have to use your ears as a part of the game.
08:50Yeah, yeah, exactly.
08:50So we call like reckless players or dead players, man.
08:53Now this is towards, this is towards the end.
08:55So we have the bounty.
08:56We try to shoot ourselves out of this compound.
09:00Now that's what I'm saying.
09:00Like when you get the bounty, are you, do they, if they kill you, do they get it?
09:04They get it.
09:04Oh, okay.
09:05And again, you have that dark vision so I can locate that bounty, right?
09:09What you're about to see here, by the way, in just one second, he's going to throw
09:12what we call the concertina bomb.
09:13So this is a, basically an area denial.
09:15It's like a barbed wire bomb.
09:17It kind of denies you from going across the bridge and it can fill up rooms and other
09:20stuff like that.
09:21And then our goal is to get to the exit point and then you're going to get cash,
09:25unlocks and everything like this.
09:26Now, if, now, if somebody's scared of, if somebody's scared of a permadeath, the
09:31whole thing with our game is like, yeah, you die, but everything you unlock saves in
09:35the bloodline.
09:36Okay.
09:36And when you recruit a new hunter, you can put new stuff on him again.
09:39That will carry over.
09:40So you constantly progress, right?
09:42Wow.
09:43This game is, honestly, it's so much better than I gave it credit for when I saw the
09:46trailer, man.
09:47Okay.
