00:04You're about to play Hunt, a match-based monster hunting game.
00:08To begin, you're going to hire a hunter.
00:12Select Hunters, and then Recruit.
00:15Different Hunters have different strengths, tools and weapons.
00:19You'll learn the benefits of these as you become more experienced with the game.
00:23Click the Hire button under the Hunter you want to recruit.
00:27On the right side of the screen is the current inventory of the Hunter.
00:32Click Equipment. Here you will find
00:34your weapons, your tools, which are multi-use items such as
00:38electric lamps or a first aid kit, and consumables, which are
00:42one-time use items such as firebombs, dynamite, concertina bombs, etc.
00:48If you like, you can go to the store and purchase
00:51some additional equipment for your mission. Let's buy
00:54an electric lamp.
01:00Once you've bought the items you want, click Equipment
01:02and equip the items into the relevant slots.

01:39Hunt is a sandbox environment.
01:41You can go wherever you like.
01:43Out there somewhere are the other players,
01:46looking for the same targets.
01:47Keep your eyes and ears open.
01:50Use the mouse wheel or numbers to select various equipment.
01:54To melee, press left mouse button.
01:57To heavy melee, hold the left mouse button.
02:00To aim, hold the right mouse button
02:02and then click the left mouse button to fire.
02:05To aim more precisely, hold Shift.
02:08You will be using your map a lot,
02:10which you can open and close with the Tab key.
02:13The map shows
02:13your current location,
02:15the location of your teammate,
02:17resupply points for ammo and health,
02:21compounds,
02:21one of which will contain your target,
02:23and exit points.
02:25More on exit points later.
02:27Now, it is possible to locate your target
02:29by just searching all the compounds one by one.
02:32Possible, but risky.
02:34As we say around here,
02:35reckless players are dead players.
02:37A better approach is to find clues
02:39to help narrow down your target's location.
02:42Press and hold the E key.
02:44This will activate your dark sight.
02:46Dark sight enables you to see
02:48the general area where a clue is located.
02:51Once you have a fix on a clue,
02:52you can head towards it,
02:54keeping track of the clue direction
02:55with your map and compass.
02:57Remember, everything you do here
02:59has an effect on the world.
03:01Other players can not only see you,
03:03but hear you, so watch your step.
03:06When your partner speaks,
03:08you'll see his icon flashing,
03:09but you must be physically close enough
03:11to actually hear him.
03:14When you are close to the clue,
03:16your dark sight will flicker like this.
03:19Once you have located a clue,
03:21use the F key to interact with it.
03:24Look at your map.
03:25You'll notice that the area of
03:27possible target locations has shrunk.
03:30Now go and find a second and third clue
03:32to narrow down the target location
03:34even further.

03:48Open the map once more,
03:50and there is the compound containing the target.
03:53Now it's time to engage.
03:56Get ready for a tough fight.
03:59If your partner is injured,
04:01you can use your med kit to heal him.
04:04Select the kit and apply it like this.
04:07If your partner is downed completely,
04:09you can revive him with the F key.
04:11Every time a player is revived,
04:13he permanently loses a health chunk
04:15and can only be revived if he has at least
04:17one chunk remaining.
04:18This is shown on the indicator here.
04:21Once you have killed the target,
04:23the banishment phase takes place,
04:25where the monster is sent to hell.
04:27During this phase,
04:28every other player's map shows the banishment location
04:30and therefore where you are.
04:32Be on guard and ready to defend your position.
04:37Once the banishment phase is complete,
04:39grab your loot.
04:40Each monster drops two tokens,
04:42one for you and one for your partner.
04:44You can only carry one from each monster.
04:47Tokens are easily trackable by the other players
04:49using their map or dark site,
04:51which means when you pick one up,
04:53you are trackable too.
04:55You now need to escape.
04:57Remember those exit points on the map?
04:59Get to one as fast as you can.
05:02Extracting with your partner saves you more time
05:04and increases your bounty,
05:06so don't leave anyone behind.
05:09If you survived your first game of hunt,
05:11you can upgrade your hunter.
05:13Under the hunter menu,
05:15press upgrade.
05:16You can add hit points and traits
05:18using upgrade points that you accumulated during the game.
05:23You can also stock up on consumables
05:25and perhaps even buy a new weapon or two.
05:28If you can afford it of course.
05:30If you find yourself rather short of cash,
05:33you might not be able to afford to hire another hunter.
05:36In this case, you will be offered what's called a tier 0 recruit.
05:40This is a basic character that doesn't permit loadout or traits to be customized,
05:45but should be enough for you to start building valuable XP and cash again.
05:49A tier 0 character will automatically become a normal tier 1,
05:53so long as you level up with them.
05:56If you died in the last game,
05:57then you get to keep your cash and some XP,
06:00but everything else is gone I'm afraid.
06:02Plus you'll lose any cash from the bounty if you're carrying it.
06:06As you play hunt, you build up your bloodline.
06:09Your bloodline XP is never lost, even if you die.
06:12And as your bloodline increases,
06:14you can use it to unlock new gear and traits.
06:16The summary screen here will tell you how your bloodline is doing
06:19and the rewards you are earning.
