00:18I think Porsche has a pretty storied past
00:28The lifestyle and the love affair with Porsche as a brand and as a product has been there through and
00:34through
00:34And then when you weave in motorsport, the roots are pretty deep
00:40To be an ambassador of a company that really races and puts out awesome product on the road, it's pretty
00:45special
01:06The brand Porsche
01:09It always was an intelligent, specific experience
01:18They were lightweight, they were smart in how they made their performance
01:25To be connected to a brand that's sort of synonymous with some of those attributes, it's a great thing
01:32At this point I own 911s from almost each decade
01:35And to sample those cars and to tell that story to people who are from outside the world of Porsche
01:41That's the fun part
01:49My involvement with Project Cars came from a very pure driver-engineer relationship
01:54Working with them on tuning Porsche's products to relate back to the user in the crispest and most authentic way
02:02Critical feedback and what is needed to improve the car on the road
02:11And that's something I do day in and day out
02:15Doing it from a simulation aspect with AJ and the Project Car guys, that's unique for me
02:19To be on the softer side, it's really a behind-the-scenes
02:24Overall grip, is that right?
02:28A little bit on some of the suspension and tire models
02:31Trying to get the realism as high as possible
02:36It's pretty natural to just jump right in, get my hands dirty with their engineers
02:40And tell them where I thought they were nailing it on the product
02:44And connecting the real feelings and emotions and handling to a GT3 RS or a 936 race car
02:54What I quickly realized is that driving some of these cars was bringing that same engagement, that same challenge
03:01That same connection that I love about vintage racing
03:12You know, I found myself looking back at Rod and thinking to myself
03:15You guys, you're doing this, I mean, this is what I want
03:22That captivating experience of vintage racing and how easily you could lose control of the car
03:30Getting into $10 million vintage Le Mans winning cars
03:34Even for me, something that I'll never be able to do
03:40I think there's a lot of people who can put their hands on this software
03:43Walk through the history of this company
03:45Tap into some of Porsche's racing heritage
03:48Experience some of these cars that they might not ever get to physically
03:51And I think that's one of the coolest parts of simulation
03:55My name is Patrick Long
03:58I'm a Porsche factory driver
03:59Grazie a tutti
