00:00Chelsea have been handed the Premier League's biggest fine, along with a one-year transfer ban that has been suspended
00:09for two years.
00:11Now, it's been reported that the total fine of £10.75 million related to secret payments made to agents worth
00:19just under £50 million between 2011 and 2018, when Roman Abramovich had been the owner.
00:26The investigation has determined that these payments had occurred with the knowledge and approval of former senior employees and or
00:36directors, as shown in the sanction agreement.
00:41Chelsea had also been given a nine-month academy transfer ban, which has been imposed with immediate effect relating to
00:51offences between 2019 and 2022.
00:56The Premier League report stated that a number of transfers had been linked to the secret payments, including deals for
01:04Eden Hazard, Samuel Eto'o, Willian Ramirez, David Luiz, Andrei Schürrle and Nemanja Matic,
01:12adding that there was no suggestion of any wrongdoing on the part of those players.
01:18Chelsea have said that they accept the terms of the settlement in full and welcomed the Premier League's acknowledgement of
01:27their assistance in the investigation.
