00:00Welcome to the World of Warcraft Survival Guide for Patch 8.0, the Battle for Azeroth pre-expansion patch.
00:07In this video, we'll walk you through the biggest changes Edo brings to World of Warcraft
00:12and some of the new content and features coming along with them.
00:16One of the first things you'll notice when logging in is that we've done another stat squish,
00:20similar to the one we did with Warlords of Draenor.
00:23This means that health, damage and stat numbers have been reduced across the board,
00:28both for players and for NPCs.
00:31Everything's been scaled down roughly evenly, you'll just be looking at numbers that are easier to read at a glance.
00:38If you've been keeping up with what's been happening over the last few weeks,
00:42you'll know that something big has been going on with your artifact.
00:45As of Patch 8.0, the last drops of power from your artifact have been used up.
00:50This means you'll no longer be able to earn artifact power to unlock traits,
00:55and any existing traits you've unlocked are no longer active.
00:58Although many of those traits have now been incorporated into your class or spec by default.
01:03Characters just getting started in Legion content will still seek out and acquire artifacts,
01:09but its power will scale up automatically as you level.
01:12And if you enjoyed the gameplay of leveling your artifact,
01:15keep an eye out for the Heart of Azeroth and Azerite Armor coming in Battle for Azeroth.
01:20We've also made some significant changes to how professions work.
01:24Each expansion's recipes have been separated out into their own category, with their own progression.
01:31This means you no longer have to level a profession through old recipes just to catch up.
01:37First Aid has been removed as a secondary profession,
01:39with bandages now being made by tailors and anti-venoms made by alchemists.
01:44Characters with other professions will need to find a friend to make their bandages for them,
01:49or just head to the auction house.
01:52Also in Patch 8.0 is our new approach to open-world PvP, War Mode.
01:56Now, rather than having open-world PvP determined by which server you're playing on,
02:02you'll be able to toggle War Mode on or off from your Talents page,
02:05as long as you're inside Stormwind or Orgrimmar.
02:09Turn it off, and you'll be able to quest in peace without worrying about being attacked by enemy players.
02:14Turn it on, and when you venture out into the world,
02:17you'll be able to attack or be attacked by other players.
02:21You'll also have your PvP Talents enabled,
02:24and to offset the increased danger of open-world PvP,
02:27you'll get a bonus,
02:29increased experience gain for characters below max level,
02:32or increased rewards from world quests for characters already at max.
02:37In the coming weeks,
02:38you'll start to see tensions between the Alliance and Horde escalate,
02:41as we head towards the Battle for Azeroth,
02:44with some new content that will only be available until the expansion is officially released.
02:49We're also running what we're calling a Legion PvP post-season,
02:53which will let you earn some nice gear to prepare for the expansion.
02:57Of course, this is just the beginning of what's coming in Battle for Azeroth,
03:02which has all sorts of exciting features to look forward to,
03:05including warfronts, island expeditions, allied races,
03:09new zones, dungeons, and raids,
03:12new PvP arena maps,
03:13and some major updates to the Mythic Keystone system.
