An emotional groom cried tears of happiness when his stepdaughter called him ‘Dad’ for the first time before she walked down the aisle with her mom. Stepdad Marcos Padilla, 33, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, came into stepdaughter Zoë Avile's life when she was just two years old. Marcos didn't have children of his own, so he and Zoe formed a close bond, with Marcos becoming the father figure Zoë needed in her life, her mom, Jessica, 30, said. Over the years, Marcos was there for doctor's appointments, report card conferences, and Zoë would make hints to her mom that she really wanted to call Marcos 'Dad.’ The thought of change was scary, but ahead of the couple's wedding, Jessica and her daughter decided then would be as good a time as any to make the leap.
