The Saints Peter and Paul Monastery in the southern Lebanese village of Qattine has opened its doors to dozens of families fleeing intensified clashes in the south amid the US-Israel war with Iran.

00:07dozens of families fleeing intensified clashes in the south. The Saints Peter and Paul Monastery
00:13said they will offer shelter and food for the displaced residents in the name of humanity.
00:46The residents said when the U.S. and Israel war against Iran broke out on February 28th,
00:53and then they found out that Israeli forces were targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon,
00:57they packed up whatever they could and fled their home.

01:07it was like the message of our spirit,
01:09and the fear that we lived here.
01:12It's important that we came here.

01:25and they love us.

01:42Lebanon was sucked into the war in the Middle East on March 2,
01:45when Hezbollah opened fire at Israel,
01:47saying it aimed to avenge the killing of Iran's supreme leader.
01:52Israel has responded with an offensive
01:54that has killed more than 800 people in Lebanon,
01:57and forced more than 800,000 people from their homes.
