00:50I'm George Blaha, live in Toronto with my partner, Special K himself, Gregory Kelser.
00:56Greg, a very meaningful game for both these teams.
01:01The Pistons embark on a manageable three-game road trip with a four-and-a-half-game lead at the
01:06top of the East.
01:07The Raptors in a dogfight, to stay above that play-in tournament cut line.
01:12Well, here's the thing.
01:13The Pistons, they've sat atop this Eastern Conference practically the whole season
01:18and don't want to falter now.
01:20Just keep winning, and Boston can't catch you.
01:23As far as the Raptors are concerned, they're sitting where the Pistons were last year in the sixth spot.
01:29It's automatic entry into the playoffs.
01:31They'd like to stay there.
01:32But no pun intended, the heat is on, and you've got the magic right in front.
01:37That's a battle that could go down to the final day.
01:40And these are two very talented teams that will do battle this afternoon.
01:44We know about the Pistons.
01:46Toronto has four guys averaging 17-plus points.
01:51The headliners, however, will be forever linked by their rookie seasons.
01:552021 first overall pick, Cade Cunningham.
01:5821-22 Rookie of the Year, Scotty Barnes.
02:01They set the tone for their teams.
02:03They make plenty of plays on both ends of the floor.
02:06Absolutely, and Cade Cunningham, let's start with him, does a fantastic job of slowing the game down
02:12and allowing his teammates to get into position.
02:15And he's putting up an inordinate amount of assists of late.
02:19Still very capable with the outside shot.
02:22You know, does a nice job of adjusting to how he's being defended.
02:27And of late, Cade has become a possibly better defender.
02:31Steals, lock shots, keep this up,
02:33and maybe one day you'll see his name on some all-defensive team list.
02:38Now, Scotty Barnes, he is very, very good, too.
02:41And very important to what the Raptors are trying to accomplish.
02:45He's not Cade beyond the arc,
02:47but he is certainly really good inside, at the basket,
02:53defensively and on the offensive end.
02:55Make no mistake about it.
02:58Pistols are where they are, largely because of Cade and his production.
03:02Toronto Raptors in the sixth spot right now
03:04and trying to climb because of Barnes' play.
03:08Barnes and the Raptors will have their hands full.
03:10They know that.
03:11Trying to slow down Jalen Duren.
03:13He's been on a monster run on the offensive end of late.

03:32Jalen Duren has been practically unguardable.
03:35Our call-sam best call shows us that he scored 94 points in 92 minutes
03:41while shooting a blazing 84% from the floor.
03:46Why has he been able to get whatever he wants on the offensive end?
03:49Well, that's the topic of Greg's game plan,
03:51and here is Special K.
03:53Well, George, thank you.
03:54The quick answer is he's better than everybody else right now,
03:57but if you look at the minutes,
03:58you'll see that Jalen Duren hasn't put up more than 30 minutes
04:01in any of these games.
04:03In fact, the last three,
04:04the Pistons getting their business handled early,
04:06he hasn't been needed in the fourth quarter very much.
04:09But what you'll notice all season long
04:12is his work in concert with Cade Cunningham.
04:14He does a tremendous job of finding the open spots
04:17when teams double-K gets to the basket quickly
04:20and has become a terrific finisher.
04:23That's why he shoots such a hefty percentage.
04:27Look at him in a crowd.
04:28He's up higher and stronger than anybody else
04:32over and over again.
04:33And this is what the Raptors will have to deal with.
04:36Think about this.
04:37When these two teams met back in February,
04:39Jalen Duren did not play.
04:41He was serving that suspension.
04:43Toronto Raptors have got a lot to have to deal with today
04:46with him on the floor.
04:47Playing at this level,
04:49an all-star quality level,
04:50and a big, big part of what the Pistons
04:53have been able to accomplish this season
04:54and looking for more.

06:02So, a welcome sight to see Assault Thompson
06:05back in the starting lineup.
06:06Although they did play well in his absence
06:08going 3-2 with Marcus Sasser
