In Alice Springs, residents are being urged to prepare for flooding as a weather system tracks Northern WA. The town has already experienced two flood events this year and is expected to face heavy downpours today and tomorrow.

00:01I'm in Alice Springs, there is a watch and act alert for the Tanami, Lasseter and Simpson
00:09and Fink districts, which is basically a huge area of land that goes all the way around
00:14behind me.
00:15There's been some rainfall in the past 24 hours, about 70 mils of rain fell at Ilarra,
00:2160 mils fell at Kintal Wollonguro, which is a remote indigenous community near the Western
00:26Australia border and there's more rain on the way.
00:30People are being urged to be prepared and if they do come across floodwaters, not to drive,
00:36walk or swim through them, to take their safety seriously and just keep themselves as dry
00:43as possible.
