00:01Dutch authorities are searching for two suspects believed to have set off an explosion outside a Jewish school in Amsterdam.
00:09Mayor Femke Halsema condemned the attack as a cowardly act of aggression against the city's Jewish community.
00:22A city hall statement said the overnight blast damaged only the school's outer wall in the Beitenveldert district.
00:29No injuries were reported.
00:31Police said the two suspects arrived on a motor scooter.
00:35One placed an object against the wall before returning to the scooter, detonating it as they sped away.
00:41Dutch Justice and Security Minister David van Weel said the investigation into the perpetrators is ongoing.
00:48Halsema added that Amsterdam's Jewish residents feel fear and anger amid rising anti-Semitism.
00:55She emphasized that schools must be safe spaces for children and that Jews should be able to live safely in
01:01the city.
01:02Security around Jewish schools and institutions had already been increased following recent attacks, including an explosion near a synagogue in
01:10Liege and a blast causing a small fire at a synagogue entrance in Rotterdam last Friday.
01:16The targeted school is the only one in the Netherlands specifically for Orthodox Jews and is already protected by security
01:24fencing due to previous threats.
01:26Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten called the attack horrible and stressed that the safety of Jewish institutions remains a government
01:33priority.
01:36The meantime was really very present.
01:45I think I'm on the right track of this side of the city.
