PM Anwar announces extra holiday for Hari Raya this year

The government will provide an extra day off for this year’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri to recognise the efforts of those who worked throughout Ramadan, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.  Speaking at the National Consumers Day launch in Kota Kinabalu on Sunday (March 15), he said the date depends on the declaration of Syawal 1: if Hari Raya falls on Friday (March 20), the following Monday will be a holiday; if it falls on Saturday, the extra day will be the preceding Friday.
