00:00I personally was in my office at the time on a Zoom call and all of a sudden heard a
00:05noise like bookshelves, mini bookshelves falling and I was like that's the strangest sound.
00:11I got off the Zoom, I looked outside and I saw smoke, I saw it looked like debris and
00:19I saw people running.
00:21So instincts took over, I went back into my office, lowered the blinds, locked the door
00:26and hid under my desk.
00:27Heard some gunshots and other noises, didn't know exactly what they were and at that point
00:33I was on the ground and the smoke had already gotten into my office because my office was
00:39adjacent to the hallway and so I had to make a decision.
00:42How long was I going to put up with this, did I feel I should run now and I made
00:47the decision
00:47to run.
00:48So I ran out of the office, out the sanctuary doors and there was only one other person
00:54out there at the time from our staff so I had no clue, I knew our staff was inside but
00:59I didn't know what the status of anybody was.
01:02I knew I was outside but I was dealing with some smoke and you know luckily law enforcement
01:09arrived and did what they do to keep us safe.
01:12People are sad and shocked by what occurred because you never feel like it's going to happen
01:16at your place and then on the flip side there's a lot of gratitude.
01:20Gratitude to our security officials, gratitude to our preschool faculty and our staff who
01:25did everything right.
01:26Gratitude to our partners here at the Shenandoah Country Club, gratitude to our law enforcement.
01:31A car came to the facility, breached the facility by driving into it, was engaged by security.
01:41We believe there is one individual deceased in the vehicle, it's been complicated because
01:47there was some fire to say the least with that vehicle.
01:53We believe that individual is deceased, no kids, this is the important thing, no kids
01:59or no staff was injured whatsoever.
02:02So we have no victims other than one of the lead security people was hit by the car and
02:09was taken to the hospital for treatment.
02:12That individual should be okay.
02:13So so far that's our information to this point.
02:18We have agencies from all over, obviously AETF is here, FBI, more than likely will be taking
02:25the lead on this based on some of the preliminary investigative information we have, but we're
02:30not going to go into that at this point.
02:32We want to assure the community, it doesn't appear to be anything active, we're still clearing
02:38the area.
02:39We're going to clear vehicles for any explosive devices, the building, etc.
02:44Unification of the families and the kids are in progress.
02:47We've accounted for everybody that we believe was in the building at the time.
02:52We've incorporated a virtual ability to get the aircraft.
