00:00Sì, The Shining is the best.
00:30Yeah, I think I didn't work on the first film, but the moment I saw it, I was a big
00:36fan of it. So when I had the opportunity to come and work on the second film, I was excited
00:41to come in and play.
00:42I think, you know, Zootropolis is built as this world that needs to feel lived in and it needs to
00:53be believable that this world exists. And so really, from a production standpoint, we need to make sure that we're
01:01able to create these worlds and decide all these different areas that we go to.
01:06We like to play a lot in the very beginning and the directors like to play and, oh, maybe we
01:11can go here, maybe we can go here. At some point, we have to lock down the environment and say,
01:15OK, we're for sure going to go to Marsh Market. Let's start building it because that's a huge world that
01:21we're building in there.
01:22And so we'll start building it and then the directors will know that they're locked in at least to that
01:28environment.
01:28Zootopia seems to reflect the American society in some ways, but it goes beyond that. Why is it important to
01:40watch Zootopia 2?
01:41I think it's important to first and foremost, because we all need to laugh. So we all need to go
01:47and have a good time. But really, I think that looking at Judy and Nick's relationship and seeing how it
01:55evolves and seeing how I think we all do this in our own relationships, we get to a point where
02:01we understand that the person that we're building this relationship is different in some way.
02:06And it could be a huge difference. And we as humans can either retreat. A lot of times what we
02:13do is just say, oh, OK, never mind.
02:15And we walk away or we can sit there and try to understand the differences. And I think what's beyond
02:21that, once we do that, we really make that relationship even stronger.
02:26The animation world seems to be a truly multicultural environment with people of different nationalities and skills working together. Is
02:37that one of the industry's biggest strengths? And how can it improve even more?
02:42Yeah, I think what I love about it is we have artists and production people and people in our studio
02:50from all over the world. And it's those. Yes, I truly believe that that's one of our strengths, because we
02:58are telling stories that we want to see that we like and that we hope, you know, we want to
03:05we think, oh, we'd want to go see this film.
03:06But having these voices from all over the world is really what helps us make it better, because if we
03:15all came from the same place, we would be telling very boring stories.
03:18In Zootopia, too, there are a lot of cinematographic references. What is your favorite one?
03:25Oh, my gosh, there's so many. I think I have to I really do love the Ratatouille joke. I think
03:31it's funny. But my personal favorite is the thing is when Gary, the snake gets hit with a frying pan.
03:39That frying pan is actually from Tangled that Rapunzel uses in or Rapunzel that she uses in that film. And
03:48Rapunzel is the first film that I worked on with Byron Howard, one of our directors. So I always love
03:54that moment.
03:54Thanks for the scene from The Labyrinth of The Shining. Yes. Also, The Shining is our favorite. But yes.
04:03A character from Zootopia that represents you and why?
04:09Um, I think I always love Judy Hopps. I don't know if she represents me because I strive to be
04:15like her. But I we talk a lot. I joke with the directors that I'm really Dr. Fusby because I'm
04:21the one that has to bring the therapy to everyone to get the movie done. But so I really like
04:27Dr. Fusby.
04:28Thank you so much. Thank you very much. Yes, The Shining is the best.
04:34Thank you.
