00:00That's all things for, you know, my analyst.
00:16Hi.
00:16Hi Valentina, hi.
00:17It's a good time for monsters.
00:20Wolfman, Nosferatu, Guillermo del Torri's making is Frankenstein.
00:24So I want to ask you, what is your favorite monster and why?
00:27Unbiasedly right now, my favorite is Wolfman just because I got to like sort of, you know, experience a little
00:34bit of what that's like.
00:36I've yet to play any other kind.
00:39So, but I don't know.
00:43I think the thing is with all these sort of monsters, there's all different kinds of movies and takes on
00:49these things.
00:49There's a ton of different vampire things, you know.
00:52There's, you know, the old Nosferatu, the new one.
00:56There's What We Do in the Shadows, which is a vampire comedy.
01:00You know, there's all these different.
01:01So to me, it's less about the monster and more about how a director or whoever decides to do their
01:10take on that thing.
01:12So I don't quite have a favorite, but I have certain movies or shows that I like, you know.
01:19And in your opinion, what can we learn from monsters?
01:22Because they are often used as a metaphor to talk about some problems, some concerns that we have in our
01:31community.
01:31So in your opinion, what can we learn from them?
01:33Well, I mean, for this movie, I mean, I'll say for Wolfman, you know, a big theme that sort of
01:39runs throughout it is like this idea of communication, illness.
01:45You know what I mean?
01:46These are like the relatable sort of heart themes throughout it.
01:50And I think it's just, you know, in this one, for example, the communication theme is this idea of like,
01:57what if, you know, what if your ability to speak to your loved ones or whoever is taken from you?
02:05And how do you act then?
02:07Now, in this movie, it's told in a very sort of surreal way.
02:11But those are things that, of course, through different illnesses, whatever happened in real life that a lot of people
02:17have experienced.
02:19So, you know, I think there's a lot of things to sort of take from that.
02:23And I think will be very, like, relatable for people other than being scared and having fun.
02:30Those are those those are those kind of things that I think, again, bring the heart to it.
02:34There's also, I think, the theme of the generational trauma.
02:38Do you agree and do you believe that it's important to talk about generational trauma?
02:45I think it's important to talk about, especially with your therapist.
02:49Yeah.
02:49Yeah, of course.
02:50I mean, I think I think I think it's important to talk about in any format.
02:55But but yeah, I mean, those are that's something that every human deals with.
03:00You know, what do you what do you carry on?
03:03What do you what do you try to change generation to generation?
03:09What do you what do you inherit?
03:12And can you can you shed those if if there are things you inherit that you need to shed?
03:19Can you do that?
03:20And can you, you know, that's, you know, that's all things for, you know, my analyst.
03:26It's interesting that your character can't speak anymore.
03:32Do you believe that men also in 2024, 25 now struggle with with talking and why?
03:42Generally speaking, I think that's I think there is a thing that that.
03:49Yeah.
03:50I mean, yes.
03:51The short answer is, yes, that is a thing, because men are, you know, through what you
03:56were saying before about generational, you know, or how men are meant to be brought up.
04:01But the thing I think it's a very nuanced answer to that, because, you know, I I I think that,
04:12you know, it's it's a case by case and individual and individual basis, really.
04:17And I think that if you're a man, it doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman.
04:21I think I think being able to communicate your feelings and, you know, being just that being
04:33able to communicate your feelings is is an important part of, you know, the human experience.
04:38So I think, yeah, and I but I think in the in these times, I think in modern times, men
04:45are are generally doing a lot better with that.
04:49I think, you know, there's I think from from what I know, there's a lot more people going
04:54therapy, you know.
04:55So, I mean, like, I think I think it's it's positive.
04:58Thanks to this movie, we we find out that Wolfman have a purple vision.
05:07Your character sees purple when when it was home.
05:10I was making shooting those scenes.
05:14How did you work on that with the director?
05:16Yeah, I mean, a lot of those the great thing is a lot of that was done practically, you
05:22know, in in on set on in camera on on the day.
05:26Now, obviously, there's some visual effects that are added, you know what I mean?
05:30But it wasn't my my imagine.
05:34I didn't have to completely use my imagination for that stuff.
05:37You know, it was we would do very complicated shots where, you know, these lights would change
05:42and it would the camera would sort of come around behind me.
05:45So like I got to feel a lot of those things practically.
05:48And it helped it sort of it helped me sort of just believe in the the the the surrealness
05:55of it all, you know.
05:56And and I was shooting the transformation.
05:58You were talking about the props, the prosthetics.
06:02So I was because it's iconic.
06:04I mean, I think I loved as hard as it was to go through the process, you know, of hours
06:11and hours of putting that on, it was worth it because, I mean, for it to be practical
06:15like that, I think really changes everything, especially how the scenes go on set.
06:21And so and it shaped a lot of my performance, too.
06:25It can't you know, it's impossible for it not to change my face and change my body and
06:29how I move and look.
06:31So, I mean, it was difficult, but it was it's it was worth it, you know.
06:35And just a curiosity, since you are an actor and now, you know, all the tricks
06:40and what scares you when you watch another movie?
06:45Yeah, it's a good one.
06:47It's hard, you know, because you're very aware of how the gears are, you know.
06:54But, you know, the thing I think I still do a pretty good job of I can still go to
07:00the
07:00movie for me, it's just go to the movie theater as opposed to watching it at home, because
07:06like I, I still have that nostalgia when I even now when I go to the movie theater, I
07:12can I can forget sometimes that I do movies, you know, if I'm and if the movie is good
07:17enough, you know.
07:20OK, thank you so much.
07:22Thank you.
07:22Ciao.
07:23Ciao.
07:23Thank you.
07:44Ciao.
