00:00Ma mia risposta è musicale.
00:10I had the craziest dream last night.
00:13It's still last night.
00:14In this season all the characters have to grow up,
00:18but it's not easy.
00:20And I want to know if you agree why it's so difficult to grow up.
00:24And maybe for this character it's more difficult
00:26because they are eternal teenagers.
00:29I don't know.
00:32The fun of a comedy is never seeing anyone grow too much, right?
00:38They're always their own worst enemy.
00:41I think we always try to identify
00:42what's the funniest obstacle that each character has to face
00:46and then put them in the worst situation for it.
00:50But I think there is growth this season,
00:53certainly with Poppy and Ian.
00:55And I think with our show,
00:57whereas some characters stay a little bit the same,
00:59we've got some pretty crazy journeys this season,
01:02but especially with Poppy and Ian.
01:04And Charlotte, speaking about Poppy,
01:06she really has to trust her guts in this season.
01:10But again, it's not easy.
01:11How can we do that?
01:12And is it more difficult in a career like yours
01:16when you are an artist?
01:17How can you trust your guts?
01:19I find that to be the biggest challenge of my life.
01:23I feel like I'm a very neurotic person.
01:26And while it's easy to say trust your gut,
01:30my brain is always working overtime.
01:32And honestly, that's one of the things that I love about my job
01:35is that I do my best work when I'm able to let go of that neuroses
01:40and just try to live in the character
01:42and feel what feels honest for the character.
01:44And I think because Poppy is so...
01:49She does behave very instinctively at times.
01:55And sometimes that gets her into tricky situations.
01:59But I love when I get to play that part of her.
02:03And this season especially,
02:05she's trusting herself more than she ever has.
02:08And part of that is because I think she's taken a step backwards
02:11from the role she's always had at Mythic Quest
02:14where Mythic Quest and Iron have always been her whole life.
02:18And this season when we find her, episode one,
02:20she has a boyfriend.
02:21She has a romantic relationship.
02:23And it's bringing out a whole new side of her.
02:25And it's also opening her eyes to a whole different way to live her life,
02:28which is such a fun thing to get to explore this season.
02:31And in this season we have a new special episode.
02:34and it's a murder mystery dinner.
02:37But if you could choose a theme for a special episode,
02:40what would you choose?
02:41And why a musical?
02:42Because I really need one.
02:43Please make a musical.
02:45I was literally going to say musical.
02:47We've been talking about this
02:49because David's writing a musical at the moment.
02:51Well, you finished writing it.
02:52You're never done writing a musical.
02:54My answer is musical.
02:56Yeah, I think we certainly would be,
02:59if we could crack the code of how to get our characters to sing
03:02in a believable way.
03:04Can't we just do the trope where someone like hits their head
03:07and then everyone's singing?
03:10I'll do anything if we get a season five.
03:13All the cast can sing.
03:14So I feel like, yeah, we gotta,
03:17everyone has to watch this season
03:19and start, what do you call it,
03:21campaigning for a musical episode season five.
03:24Do you agree with David?
03:25David says that after 40,
03:27it's really difficult to make new friends.
03:29Do you have any advice?
03:31I don't know.
03:32I think it's, it's, it's difficult also in your 30, so.
03:37Uh, yeah, we, we had a sort of a runner
03:40where we talked about in the room,
03:42writer's room, certainly about, you know,
03:44David should just be reading a lot of articles
03:45because I feel like now we all just doom scroll, right?
03:49And, and you start to see these articles,
03:51you get exposed to these different, you know,
03:53they're, they're almost like Atlantic,
03:56the Atlantic magazine articles.
03:57Uh, they're just, they're, they're these theories
04:00like how, you know, making friends over 40 or,
04:03um, so we kind of had a runner where David is,
04:06is obsessed with these different, um, issues.
04:08Uh, but yeah, making friends over 40 is, is no joke.
04:12Um, you know, you just gotta keep, gotta, gotta be hungry.
04:15Gotta be hungry.
04:17Okay.
04:18Thank you so much.
04:19Thank you.
04:20Bye.
04:20Bye. Thank you.
04:45Bye.
