00:00Did you think about Terminator?
00:04You know, I didn't, but maybe I should have.
00:07Does that make me Robert Patrick or Arnold Schwarzenegger?
00:17La paura domina il mondo, come mai in passato.
00:25Gli umani si comportano in modo altamente prevedibile quando hanno paura.
00:30E noi ovviamente abbiamo trovato il modo di guadagnarci.
00:33Let's say that your characters think that they're the heroes of their own story,
00:40but to other people, they are the villains.
00:44So in your opinion, what makes a villain?
00:46Timing.
00:51People who don't have, I think that Alex, I'll speak about Alex, my character.
00:57I don't think Alex has malicious intent, but he doesn't, but he is not concerned with
01:06the outcome of the work that he's doing.
01:09And that can create a villain as easily as malicious intent.
01:14So, you know, either negligence or, or what would you call it?
01:20Uh, want and disregard for other people is just as bad as, uh, as actively trying to hurt
01:27other people, especially at this level where you're, you know, you're affecting so many
01:32people by what you're doing.
01:33But I think the world of it, it lends itself to villainy.
01:37You know, these are kind of, they're not, uh, philanthropic people.
01:43They're, they're, they're, what, what are they doing?
01:45They're, they're trying to create maximum profit, you know, at any cost.
01:50And the people that work in these kind of, uh, institutions and in this business, I don't
01:56imagine they're very warm or cuddly.
01:58You know, you have to be, you have to have a certain kind of ruthless kind of nature to
02:03be able to disregard what may be going on in the world or, or the knock on of any of
02:10the
02:10choices you've made in this world in terms of, if I, if I invest in this company, which
02:16is a weapons company, great.
02:18You know, this is a lot of world war going on at the moment.
02:20We're going to make a load of money.
02:22You know?
02:23So I think the world of it without being general, it does lend itself to villainy.
02:30Josh, can we say that you, you start like a successful, um, scientist and you end like
02:37John Connor in Terminator, can we say that?
02:41Did you think about Terminator?
02:45Yeah.
02:45So I, you know, I, I didn't, but maybe I should have.
02:48Does that make me, that make me Robert Patrick or Arnold Schwarzenegger?
02:53Yeah.
02:53I think you are, you're Schwarzenegger.
02:55Yeah.
02:57Well, I've said that about Arsha a lot.
02:59He gets so sick of me saying how much he reminds me of Arnold.
03:03It's the, it's the Republican governor aspect that he's always, you know.
03:06The governor.
03:07Yeah.
03:08The governor.
03:09The governor.
03:09Yes.
03:10I could say it's, it's, um, it's a descent into a very dark and, uh, in the, in the sense
03:17that John Connor, I think if I remember correctly, isn't believed by a lot of people when he comes,
03:23when he's, when he's saying what he's saying about the, it's the same sort of trajectory,
03:27I guess, in a way.
03:29More like sort of Linda Hamilton's character, Sarah Connor.
03:32She's the one.
03:33Yeah, right.
03:33There it is.
03:34Linda Hamilton.
03:35Robot.
03:36He's not an Austrian bodybuilder with shades.
03:39He's a robot.
03:40Look at him.
03:40He's not even wearing a top.
03:41He's just wearing a leather jacket with no top.
03:43He's a robot.
03:45Can we say that this TV show, um, pointed out that one of the main problem of today's
03:54society is that we are never satisfied.
03:57Do you agree?
03:58Can I just say something real quick?
03:59I think it's human nature to never be satisfied.
04:01And I think that's okay.
04:03Uh, but I think the application of that in this is what, what they're talking about more
04:07is, uh, what I think Robert Harris is referring to more is that the concentration of wealth
04:14and the concentration of power and the unchecked nature of that power is what really creates
04:21problems.
04:22Um, cause we're, we're curious.
04:24We're very curious and that's good.
04:26It's led us to a lot of things, you know, and I don't think that's, uh, I think we, we
04:30need to foster that.
04:31Uh, but there should be people who are working in a, in a, you know, in a society that there
04:36are checks and balances.
04:37They should never be out there on their own being able to do whatever they want.
04:40Okay.
04:41Thank you so much.
04:42Great work by the way.
04:43Bye.
04:44Thank you.
04:45See ya.
