Trascrizione
00:32Calva' life starts to change
00:33the moment that he goes
00:35and meets Bob for drinks
00:38because seeing Bob and
00:39seeing what Bob has become
00:42puts another foot
00:43on my back. I see another guy
00:45who's done so much and
00:47comes off as a guy who's achieved
00:49a lot and I instantly just start
00:51to look at myself and reflect on what I haven't
00:54and in doing that
00:55Bob lures me into
00:57almost a trap of some sort
00:59to kind of
01:01get into his
01:03CIA world, him knowing
01:05my work background
01:07and what I'm capable of, getting me to
01:09hack into a system and
01:10then tying me up into something that I had no idea
01:13I was in and
01:15putting me in a position where I'm actually
01:16now a part of it.
01:19It was all
01:21Bob's to do, but innocently
01:23in a weird way. It's like it wasn't
01:25but he's so naive that it was.
01:30This is a good change for Dwayne. I don't think
01:33anybody has ever seen him like this.
01:35He really carries the comedy
01:36in this film, which is great.
01:39I'm the straight man
01:41which you haven't really seen me be
01:43in the film as well.
01:44I think it was refreshing and I think he did a good job
01:47of grounding
01:48the level of comedy that he
01:50went for. I take my hat off to DJ
01:53this one. This is good.
01:57I think their relationship evolves because
02:01as the movie
02:03goes on, Calvin
02:05starts to see that
02:07there is a level of
02:09innocence to Bob.
02:11You know, and in doing
02:13that, I build up a certain level
02:15of trust and kind
02:17of wanting to back him because I feel
02:19for him in a position that he's in.
02:21You know, and when you do do that
02:23and you make that decision,
02:24it's either all or nothing.
02:26And when I make the decision, I'm making it
02:28to basically give all
02:31and almost become his partner to some degree
02:33and just staying with him along this journey.
02:35So it's a good change
02:37and you know, that road to friendship
02:39that these two characters has
02:41is a good road. It's a road that you follow.
02:46I love being physical, man.
02:47I love
02:50the action
02:52element in a film
02:53in general. You know, you're
02:55getting to do things that you can't do in real life,
02:57which is always fun. You know, jumping out
02:59of buildings,
03:01car chases, gun shootouts,
03:03you know, all of those type of things are fun.
03:05When you can add a comedic tone to it,
03:06it just enhances it so much more.
03:09So I've been lucky enough
03:11to work with some great people and
03:12working with DJ is actually one of the biggest bonuses,
03:15man. He's a good guy.
03:17We play around a lot with Silly, but
03:19he's one of the best to do it.
03:20And I think in this film,
03:22the camaraderie that we have definitely
03:25helps, you know, because being friends off screen
03:27allows you to do more
03:29when you're on screen, because we have
03:31that high level of comfort with one another.
03:36You know, Rawson is a vet.
03:39Rawson has done a lot.
03:41You know, I mean, he's a guy who understands comedy
03:44and the story is told in a very smart way,
03:49you know, because this isn't a genre of film
03:51that's brand new. It's been done.
03:53You know, you've seen the buddy cop.
03:56You've seen the guy that's in the CIA
03:58and the other guy that doesn't know.
04:00So when you do these things, you have to be unique
04:03and fresh in bringing this particular premise across.
04:07And I think Rawson was very good at that.
04:09You know, also within the writing of the film,
04:11you know, I think it was very well done
04:13and, you know, it gave Dwayne and myself
04:16a lot of room to wiggle and play.
04:18You know, we could always go more
04:20and then scale back.
04:22And in this case Rawson allowed us to do that.
