00:00Patriots free agent signings in tiers.
00:02I'll give you the 15 best.
00:04Then I'll give you just a fourth tier of the worst.
00:08And let me tell you that I've just put all free agent signings on this list
00:15and they're not all created equal.
00:16In other words, Saron, like signing Milton Williams was a day one big money free agent.
00:24That's sort of what this list should be.
00:26But in my research, it would have taken way too long for me to have parsed out
00:32when you signed the guy versus did you just sign a guy.
00:35In other words, there's going to be a couple of guys on this list
00:36who you picked up in mid-July on the street heading into training camp and they popped.
00:43And I'm just putting them all together.
00:45And how far back did you go?
00:47Since 2000, thank you.
00:48This century.
00:50Okay, so Dave Meggett is not on the list.
00:53Okay, right?
00:54It's a massive preamble.
00:56Sean Jefferson.
00:57I got more.
00:58Sean Jefferson.
00:59So it's pre-2000.
01:00It's all free agents.
01:02Post-2000.
01:04Post-2000.
01:05All free agents.
01:06That could be street guys.
01:08That could be guys that were signed under duress in August or whatever.
01:11Okay?
01:12And I put an emphasis on championships.
01:15It's not the defining characteristic, but I put the emphasis on it.
01:19These are pretty much in descending order from 15 to 1.
01:23Okay?
01:24Pretty much.
01:25We'll start with tier 3 with the 15th best free agent signing by the Patriots.
01:30Hunter Henry is number 15.
01:33You would say, why?
01:34That's kind of iffy.
01:36Let me tell you something.
01:38Hunter Henry's on his second Patriots contract.
01:41How many free agents?
01:43And I can't remember.
01:43I think Hunter Henry was day one.
01:45Yeah, he was.
01:46How many day one free agents earn a second contract from that team?
01:53And he's on his second Patriots contract.
01:56They haven't won a Super Bowl with him.
01:58But when he came here, what was his biggest knock?
02:02Durable.
02:02He couldn't say healthy, right?
02:03He was a charger.
02:05Games played.
02:06Games played since he's in New England.
02:0817, 17, 14, 16, 17.
02:11He's worked.
02:11That's been a good signing.
02:13Next, Keith Traylor.
02:15Keith Tractor Traylor.
02:17Just one year, but they won a Super Bowl with Ted Washington in 2003.
02:22Ted Washington left.
02:23They needed a nose tackle.
02:24They signed Keith Traylor.
02:25They went right back and won another Super Bowl with Keith Traylor.
02:27And then he promptly left too.
02:29But they nailed it.
02:31They nailed the replacement for Ted Washington, Keith Traylor.
02:34Number 13, Anthony Pleasant.
02:36Part of that wave of jets that they brought in in 2001.
02:39Key culture guy.
02:41Solidified the defense.
02:42Won two Super Bowls.
02:43I'll put Anthony Pleasant on that list.
