00:12Do you agree with her, or not?
00:16That's a good line.
00:17Yeah.
00:18Dio è un monarquista.
00:19Well, il monarchy survives, doesn't it, in England?
00:23I think the monarchy is very strong at the moment in England.
00:25It's got a lot of respect.
00:27Whether God is backing them or not, I don't know.
00:31Yes.
00:32Because the Queen stands for tradition and for, you know, very solid values.
00:38And the younger monarchs, the younger royals are coming into the modern age
00:43as they have twitter feeds and everything.
00:46So I think it's an adaptable institution that adapts for every age that it's in.
00:51Yeah.
00:52Yeah.
00:53Is she a monarchist?
00:55God?
00:56Is God...
00:57God is a woman, obviously.
00:59And, well, of course, that line applies to the weather.
01:02That God made the weather good for the king and queen arriving.
01:08So, yeah, I don't know.
01:10There's a really moving part of the movie in which one character says,
01:1550 years ago, who could imagine that men could fly?
01:19Do you believe that cinema has helped during the years causes like the one we saw in the movie?
01:26It's important.
01:28Movies can help us, help society go on and evolve.
01:32I think movies, plays, literature, art helps everybody, yes.
01:37It helps people make sense of the world.
01:39I mean, Downton Abbey is a very romantic view of the world.
01:45You know, it's not a documentary.
01:47It's not realistic in that respect.
01:51But if it shows people that sort of good manners and sort of honourable behaviour is a decent quality,
02:00I think that's not a bad thing.
02:04because Downton's only one generation removed from me because my mother was born in 1919, you know,
02:11so it's a very recent history and it's the beginning of our history with telephones and cars and things like
02:17that.
02:19And, I mean, it shows in one respect how far we've moved in the last 100 years technologically,
02:26but maybe we haven't moved very far in terms of our own internal emotional development.
02:32Yeah.
02:33Yes, I mean, I think if a story is true and honest and covers the human condition,
02:45and whether that's a love story or a very, you know, upsetting story,
02:51as long as it's true and real and holds a mirror up to what we should be or what we
02:58shouldn't be,
02:59it's got to be useful.
03:01One character says, I'll be fine until I'm not.
03:04It's a very strong and courageous way to live our life.
03:08I wish I could do so.
03:09So how can we have this courage and face life in this way?
03:15Well, it's difficult. I mean, we're very lucky that, you know, we've been married for 35 years and we support
03:23each other.
03:24So we have that support, which helps us. We also, both of us have strong inner voices that sort of
03:32guide us in the choices we make.
03:37Yeah. Sorry. I think probably because of the younger generation, whatever, having to look everywhere else for how they live
03:46their life.
03:47Hmm.
03:47It's quite easy to lose yourself.
03:50And I think we've got to just rein it in and just listen, hopefully, to the good part of you.
03:58And not that I should be like that. I should look like that. I should think like that.
04:01I should be with those people. And I think that's it. I think it's an epidemic.
04:06Now, I don't want to be an older person saying, well, the social media, it's so terrible because there's some
04:12wonderful things in social media.
04:14But I do think on a personality level, it's quite difficult for people to retain their own sort of sense
04:22of truth.
04:24And we'll be fine until we're not. And when we're not fine, we'll sort it out.
04:29Yeah. Thank you so much.
04:32Okay, lovely.
04:33You have been amazing.
04:36Downton Abbey, da el benvenuto alle vostre maestà.
04:40Oh, posso aiutardi?
04:42Qualcuno dovrà farlo, Sire, o potrei non rialzarmi più.
04:45heheheh.
04:46Grazie a tutti.
