00:41It's always with a certain silliness and an acknowledgment of human frailty.

00:50through all of these crazy mishaps that they have.
00:53The funny thing is, however many bad things happen to Laurel and Hardy,
00:57they always remain friends and you can learn from them.

01:10were the pioneers of comedy on film, certainly in terms of double acts.

01:26When you make a film, you make it for everybody, hopefully.
01:30It just so happens that maybe 40 years plus will know them, like we do.
01:37But I think the benefit these days is you have things like YouTube, Google,
01:42that if you don't know who they are, you can very quickly find out.

01:46However, the film is not just about Stan and Ollie, the movie stars.
01:51It's about these two men, regardless of if they were movie stars,
01:55it's about these two friends who learnt to love each other again
01:59after a long career and a hard career and when things have gone wrong.
02:04And I think the message from it is that, you know, the world at the moment
02:09isn't quite a strange place politically.
02:13And I think the thing I would like people to take out of it is the importance of friendship,
02:17the importance of love, the importance of reconciliation,
02:20the importance of understanding and communication.
02:22And those are the things that I think the younger generation will take out,
02:27regardless if they know who Stan and Ollie are, yeah?
02:30But as I say, hopefully it reintroduces a new generation to these comedy icons, yeah?
