00:00I loved it. I thought it was fabulous. I thought it was a great read. It was a page turner.
00:05And then Roman's touch was Roman's touch. I mean, he has a style all his own, but he kept very
00:17faithfully to Robert Harris' novel.
00:20And yet at the same time, you could feel the cinematic presence of his work as a director within it.
00:31I said, well, I'm not doing Tony Blair. And Roman said, no, we're not doing Tony Blair.
00:36But you can't help but look at Tony Blair's record.
00:39And I went and looked at coverage of Tony. And I read some of his biography.
00:52But really, I concentrated what was on the page. Because she has a real bite to her, Olivia.
00:58She's got a great presence of voice and intellect. It's very sharp.
01:06And, you know, Adam beside her is this charming, affable, has his own strengths, of course.
01:17But all the time, Lady M is there, so to speak, wheeling and dealing.
01:26And as it tumbles down for his life and their lives, it's quite shocking.
01:32I mean, it's a really great ending, I think.
01:35I adore both these women, actually. The actors, Kim Cattrall and I have known each other, not very well,
01:41but in the town called Hollywood for many years, our paths have crossed.
01:49And in the screenplay, you're not quite sure if they're having an affair or not.
01:54I mean, it's not exactly on the nose.
01:59But, you know, something's going on.
02:01And then, of course, you have Kim's character, Amelia, making eyes at the ghost.
02:09And that interplay.
02:12I love this cast. The cast is really special.
02:15And everyone's very human and real.
02:17And there's no egos or shouting.
02:20And Ewan is, you know, leading the way.
02:23So he's a top man in my book.
02:25He's someone who I've always admired as an actor.
02:31And he brings such a vulnerability and charm.
02:34And, you know, you can see into his face.
02:37He has a face that just shines.
02:43And he's very funny, too.
02:45He catches the irony really well.
02:48He's also so charming and he's so specific.
02:51And to see a director there with his viewfinder and picking the shot, the composition.
02:58It's superb.
02:59It's, you know, I was looking at it today.
03:00The viewfinder that he has in his hand looks like it goes back to Knife in the Water.
03:06I might ask him after lunch how long he's had it.
03:10But it's a thrilling experience.
03:13Really, really.
