00:06:17Now the vintage James Harden, the step back, can be torture on defenders.
00:06:23It's about the footwork.
00:06:25And, folks, he makes this look easy.
00:06:27And Luka Doncic has talked a lot about this.
00:06:29One of the keys with the step back is can you get both feet underneath you
00:06:33and can you get on balance and stay on balance?
00:06:36That's why the efficient footwork is just such a critical aspect.

00:06:49Kenny Atkinson, their head coach, told us he went on a bit of a rant
00:06:52and told the team he believes in this group and how they can go from a talented team
00:06:55to a team that does things right.
00:06:57Atkinson also told me recently that Donovan Mitchell has welcomed Harden with open arms
00:07:02and thankful that he's here in Cleveland.
00:07:04You know, the two have a longstanding relationship going back to their Adidas days.
00:07:08But Harden being here alleviates a lot of the ball handling and playmaking responsibilities for Mitchell
00:07:12and allows him to focus on being the primary scorer.
00:07:15And that allows Harden to make the decisions with the ball in his hands, Dave and D.B.
00:07:18Harden was acquired at the deadline for Darius Garland.
00:07:22He's got a lot to prove in the playoffs.
00:07:24Got close with Houston, went to the conference finals.
00:07:271.9 to shoot as it's knocked out of bounds by Orlando.
00:07:31But you look at Harden's scoring and shooting numbers,
00:07:34and it's true for a lot of people, but they do go down from the regular season to the playoffs.

00:07:48Mitchell has to turn and fire, and it did graze the rim,
00:07:52but no shot clock violation, still empty possession.
00:07:55And I feel like, yes, it's about the percentage,

00:08:01But it's also about, you know, certain game performances
00:08:04where James' impact was basically nonexistent in some of those moments.
00:08:09But, yeah, I think they'll have an opportunity, you know,
00:08:12to try to erase some of those things.
