00:01Riprendilo con la telecamera.
00:30...to make sure that this was, you know, the thing I wanted to make.
00:32La mia teoria che stiamo diventando più forti.
00:34Guardate!
00:36The main challenges were creating a kind of camera style...
00:41...that was both controlled...
00:43...and had a feeling of looseness and spontaneity...
00:46...and to make sure that from the beginning of the movie...
00:49...to the end of the movie, where we take...
00:51...these characters and these circumstances to some very extreme places...
00:56...that it always felt like it was actually happening.
00:59in that it was real life and we didn't tread too far outside
01:02into, you know, pure arbitrary fantasy.
01:10We had some really amazing visual effects, guys,
01:13that we worked with in collaboration to...
01:15If an object is being manipulated with a wire or something like that,
01:20you just, you know, it's about the performance of the guys,
01:23you know, using the wires and you rotoscope it out,
01:27you paint it out, and then, you know, you have an object
01:29that is in the same space as the actor interacting with it.
01:34So anything that we ended up doing with CG
01:37had to look as real as something that was actually real in an earlier scene.
01:46We wanted to find actors who could really not only embody
01:51the characters on page in the script,
01:54but actors who were insanely talented and insanely trained
02:02and could also bring their own interpretation to the table.
02:08Dane DeHaan was the first actor that we cast.
02:11We were big fans of his work on In Treatment
02:13and felt that he really was Andrew Detmer.
02:17All the other actors that we brought into the equation
02:19had to be as talented and great as Dane,
02:21and it took, I think, about a thousand auditions later
02:25to be able to really find that,
02:27and we're, you know, so excited with what we have.
02:30Porca!
