00:00Hey everyone, welcome back to the channel. I'm so glad you enjoyed the last video, and based on your awesome
00:06feedback, we're diving right back in with another round of performance boosting secrets.
00:11Today, we're going even deeper. I'm going to show you the ultimate hidden settings that will make your Windows system
00:17feel twice as fast.
00:18We're talking about eliminating that annoying interface lag, shutting down resource-hungry background apps, and giving your system a deep
00:26clean from the inside out.
00:27By the end of this video, your PC will feel brand new. So, grab a drink, get ready to follow
00:34along, and let's unlock the true potential of your machine.
00:37Alright, let's start with something that has a huge and immediate impact. Visual effects.
00:43Windows has a ton of beautiful animations, like Windows fading in and out, or menus sliding smoothly.
00:49They look great, but they're constantly using your GPU and RAM, which can really slow down your system, especially on
00:56older hardware.
00:57We're going to turn them off for a massive speed boost.
01:00Press the Windows key on your keyboard, and start typing. Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.
01:06You should see it pop up.
01:08Click on it, or hit Enter.
01:11A new window will open up.
01:12In the Visual Effects tab, you'll see a list of options.
01:15Instead of unchecking them one by one, just select the option that says, Adjust for Best Performance.
01:21This instantly disables all the non-essential eye candy.
01:25Now, click, apply, and then OK.
01:28Go ahead, try opening a folder or minimizing a window.
01:32See that?
01:33It's instant.
01:34No more lag.
01:36Just pure, snappy responsiveness.
01:39This one simple trick can make your whole system feel incredibly fast.
01:43Next up, let's tackle those pesky startup apps.
01:47Do you ever turn on your computer and then have to wait ages before you can actually use it?
01:50That's often because dozens of programs are all trying to launch at the same time.
01:55Things like Spotify, Steam, Discord, or even your printer software might be set to run automatically,
02:02eating up your precious CPU and memory from the moment you log in.
02:06Let's take back control.
02:09Right-click on an empty space on your taskbar and select Task Manager.
02:14If you see a simple view, click More Details at the bottom.
02:18Now, navigate to the Startup tab.
02:20Here, you'll see a list of all the applications that launch with Windows.
02:24Pay close attention to the Startup Impact column.
02:26It tells you which programs are slowing you down the most high, medium, or low.
02:32Go through this list and be ruthless.
02:34If you see an app you don't need to second, your PC boots up, right-click on it, and select
02:40Disable.
02:41Don't worry, disabling, it doesn't break the program.
02:45It will still work perfectly fine when you open it manually.
02:48You read to stopping it from running in the background and draining resources when you do when you need it.
02:54Your boot times will thank you for this.
02:56Now, for a bit of digital spring cleaning.
02:59Over time, Windows and the applications you use create mountains of temporary files.
03:05These are supposed to be deleted automatically, but they often get left behind,
03:09cluttering up your hard drive or SSD and slowing down disk access.
03:13We're going to manually clear out two hidden folders full of this junk.
03:16First, press the Windows key and the R key at the same time to open the Run dialog box.
03:22Type percent, temp percent, and hit Enter.
03:25This will open a folder filled with temporary files.
03:28It might look a little scary, but trust me, you can safely delete everything in here.
03:33Just press Ctrl, plus A, to select all the files, and then hit the Delete key.
03:39Windows might tell you some files can't be deleted because they're currently in use.
03:44That's perfectly fine.
03:45Just skip those.
03:47Now, let's do it again for another folder.
03:49Press Windows plus R again, but this time type, prefetch, and hit Enter.
03:56You might need to grant administrator permission to access it, just like before.
04:00Select everything in this folder and delete it.
04:02Cleaning out these hidden junk files not only frees up valuable disk space,
04:06but also helps your system find the files it actually needs much faster.
04:10Okay, are you ready to unleash the beast?
04:13By default, Windows uses a balanced power plan that tries to save energy by limiting your CPUs performance.
04:19That's great for a laptop on battery, but if you're plugged into the wall and you want maximum performance, we
04:25need to change that.
04:26Let's unlock your processor's full power.
04:28Press the Windows key and type Control Panel.
04:31Open it and find the Power Options section.
04:35You'll likely see Balanced selected.
04:37We're looking for something better.
04:38Look for High Performance.
04:41If you don't see it, click on Show Additional Plans.
04:44On some systems, especially gaming PCs, you might even have an Ultimate Performance plan.
04:50Select either High or Ultimate Performance.
04:53This tells Windows to stop holding back and let your CPU run at its maximum clock speed all the time.
04:58Your applications will launch faster, games will run smoother, and everything will feel more responsive.
05:04This is an absolute must-do for any power user or gamer looking to squeeze every last drop of performance
05:12out of their hardware.
05:13For a final step, let's put your PC on autopilot.
05:17For cleaning, we've manually deleted junk files.
05:20But who wants to do that all the time?
05:23Thankfully, Windows has a brilliant built-in feature to automate this process called Storage Sense.
05:29Let's turn it on.
05:31Go to your Windows Settings.
05:32You can get there by pressing the Windows key and clicking the little gear icon.
05:36Inside Settings, click on System, and then on the left-hand side, select Storage.
05:42At the very top, you'll see a toggle for Storage Sense.
05:46Go ahead and switch it on.
05:47Now, you can configure it to run automatically.
05:50You can set it to run every day, week, or month.
05:54It will automatically delete temporary files and empty your recycle bin for you.
05:59Keeping your drive clean and your system running smoothly without you ever having to think about it again.
06:04It's a true set-at-on-forgeted solution for maintaining your PC's health.
06:09And there you have it.
06:10By combining these five powerful tweaks adjusting visual effects, managing startup apps, clearing junk files, enabling the ultimate power plan,
06:19and turning on storage since your PC should now be operating at its absolute peak.
06:24Combine these steps with the optimizations we covered in our last video, and you'll have a machine that's faster and
06:30more responsive than ever before.
