00:00I am here in Lake Village, Indiana, where at times the sounds of chainsaws can be heard
00:06in the background.
00:07And that is because a tornado ripped through here last night, causing extreme damage to
00:13many homes and businesses in Indiana, western Indiana here in this town of Lake Village,
00:18but also even further to the west into Kankakee County in Illinois.
00:22And this tornado spawned from a large supercell that formed back in Illinois, traveled across
00:28Illinois, and eventually started producing tornadoes just across the state line in Illinois
00:33in Kankakee County before moving here into Lake Village.
00:37Now I am told that two people were killed sadly by the tornado here in Lake Village just a little
00:43bit further to the west, just outside of town.
00:47And that tornado continued here in the town, and this is the center part of town.
00:51There are homes here, businesses just up the road back behind me.
00:54But you can see many trees knocked down here, down on top of homes.
01:00I could hear lots of chainsaws going in the background.
01:03All the roads coming into town have been closed, and that is a good thing as they are trying
01:08to clean up here in Lake Village after that strong tornado ripped through this small town
01:13here in Indiana last night.
01:15Reporting for AccuWeather, I'm Aaron Jajak.
