പശ്ചിമേഷ്യൻ സംഘര്ഷത്തെ തുടര്ന്നുണ്ടായ എൽപിജി സിലിണ്ടറുകളുടെ ക്ഷാമം കേരളത്തിലും ഹോട്ടൽമേഖലയുടെ താളം തെറ്റിക്കുന്നു. പല ജില്ലകളിലും നിരവധി ഹോട്ടലുകൾ അടച്ചിടുകയാണെന്ന് ഹോട്ടൽ ആൻഡ് റെസ്റ്റോറന്റ് അസോസിയേഷൻ പറയുന്നു. വിലവർധനക്ക് പിന്നാലെ സിലിണ്ടർ ക്ഷാമം കൂടി വന്നതോടെ ഹോട്ടലുകൾ നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകാൻ പറ്റാത്ത അവസ്ഥയാണെന്ന് സംഘടന ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടുന്നു. ഒരു ഹോട്ടൽ നിരവധി കുടുംബങ്ങളുടെ അത്താണിയാണ് എന്നത് ഓർക്കണമെന്നും അവർ പറയുന്നു. Shortage of LPG cylinders, triggered by the ongoing conflict in West Asia, is severely disrupting the hospitality sector in Kerala also. According to the Kerala Hotel and Restaurant Association (KHRA), several hotels across various districts have already begun to shut down operations. They emphasized that the industry is a primary source of livelihood for thousands of families and urged the government to recognize the social impact of these closures and to take immediate action to solve it. The crisis intensified after the Central Government invoked the Essential Commodities Act on March 6, directing oil companies to prioritize domestic households and essential services like hospitals, which has led to a near-total halt in commercial LPG supplies for restaurants.
