As many as 150 U.S. troops have been wounded in the 10-day-old war with Iran, two people familiar with the matter told Reuters on Tuesday.

Prior to Reuters' publication of the figure, the Pentagon had only disclosed eight U.S. personnel seriously injured.

00:06But while official figures on injuries remain limited, Reuters sources indicate that as
00:11many as 150 U.S. troops have been wounded.
00:14The Pentagon had only disclosed eight U.S. personnel seriously injured.
00:18But in a statement after the Reuters report, it said around 140 had been wounded, mostly
00:23with minor injuries.
00:24Defense Department spokesperson Sean Parnell said they were receiving the highest level
00:28of care.
00:29He added that 108 of the wounded service members had already returned to duty.
00:34Reuters wasn't able to determine the nature and the severity of the injuries suffered.
00:38Iran has launched retaliatory strikes against U.S. military bases since the start of the
00:43conflict on February 28th.
