00:00Elektronik muzyczka jest to endless field
00:04for exploring and experiencing
00:07all the beautiful emotions, all the type of emotions.
00:12So basically, when you do elektronik muzyczka,
00:14there is no borders in it.
00:22Elektronik muzyczka w Azerbezhan
00:24jest bardziej niż naświeczny entertainment.
00:26It's a sign of cultural exchange, creativity
00:29and global sounds involving local youth.
00:33At least we have eight international acts performing here.
00:37But I would say that there are also some other events
00:40taking place in the city.
00:41People here are very friendly and hospitable.
00:43I believe that this is the main reason why
00:45whenever an artist comes to Baku, he wants to come back.
00:51I was happy to get invited to perform in Baku
00:55for the second time already.
00:57I think it's a very promising local scene.
01:00And yeah, it seems to be on the up and go.
01:05The music scene offers a space
01:08where artists can have experiences
01:10with contemporary genres
01:11and where international and Azerbaijani performers
01:15share the stage.
01:16The good part of new era
01:18is like the music production back then.
01:21It was like a very expensive big studios.
01:23And the people were afraid of starting
01:26to try themselves in the music.
01:28From starting, like I think for the last 20 years,
01:31you can write the whole project, the whole music,
01:34the whole symphony right from your laptop.
01:40Baku has a really emotional audience.
01:43It's special for me.
01:44And we have also international DJs like Portugus DJs
01:47and also me, I'm based in Canada, Toronto.
01:51I never thought of music as a trend,
01:54as a commercial or something,
01:55whereas Azerbaijani culture is my roots.
01:58So from time to time,
01:59I mix Azerbaijani pop music of 70s and 80s
02:04with electronic music.
02:06I think music necessarily doesn't get better
02:10if people work on their own.
02:12It's a benefit if the more the merrier in a studio.
02:15I still have to collaborate with local artists
02:19from Baku yet on the studio side of things,
02:22but I'm usually very fond of working with people.
02:27So yes, I'm looking forward to any opportunities
02:30that might arise on that side.
02:35Hopefully soon.
02:39For young people in Baku,
02:41this culture represents freedom of expression
02:44and sense of belonging to a wider community.
02:47This movement has made the city feel more dynamic and open
02:51while being at the forefront
02:52of the international electronic music map.
