00:03An 18-year-old college student was killed on Monday in a freak accident after he was
00:09struck by a sickle carried by a foreign worker on a motorcycle in Teluk Intan.
00:15Hilir Perak, OCPD Assistant Commissioner Dr. Bakri Zainal Abedin, said investigations
00:22showed the sickle was being carried by a pillion rider on a motorcycle when it struck the
00:27victim's neck while they were traveling on the road. The teenager died on the spot due
00:32to the severe neck injury. Another college student, aged 17 and believed to be the victim's
00:37friend, suffered injuries to his hand. Police have detained two foreign workers aged 39 and
00:4452 to assist in the investigation. Authorities also seized several items, including the sickle
00:51and the motorcycle believed to be involved in the incident. Both suspects will be remanded
00:56as police investigate the case under Section 304A of the Penal Code for Causing Death by Negligence.
