00:03:16You okay?
00:03:18I'm just great.
00:03:20Looking up at the sky.
00:03:27Here, let me help you up.
00:03:28I don't want to get up.
00:03:37I thought you fell.
00:03:39No, just lying here.
00:03:44Okay.
00:03:48What are you wearing?
00:03:55My clogs.
00:03:57Haven't seen it before.
00:03:58You a chef?
00:04:00No.
00:04:02Then why are you wearing them?
00:04:06I don't know. I like them.
00:04:08I got them in art school.
00:04:09Far out.
00:04:17My name's Liz.
00:04:21Will.
00:04:23Hi, Will.
00:04:27Hi.
00:04:31You gonna come lay here next to me and look up at the sky, or are you moving on?
00:04:37I was actually gonna sit on that bench over there before I saw you laying here.
00:04:42Oh, cool.
00:04:50Okay.
00:04:52Okay.
00:04:53Okay, Will.
00:05:04Okay, I was thinking about the sky.
00:05:08Okay.
00:05:12Okay.
00:05:26What are you doing?
00:05:33Hey.
00:05:35What are you drawing?
00:05:39Um...
00:05:42I was actually going to draw this building over here.
00:05:46Nice view.
00:05:55Show me how.
00:06:00Um...
00:06:00Okay.
00:06:02I work at this art gallery on 3rd Street.
00:06:04It's unimportant, really.
00:06:06So you haven't had a gallery showing yet?
00:06:08No, nothing like that.
00:06:09I just, uh, I just like to draw, and I paint sometimes.
00:06:13Like a cartoonist.
00:06:15Yeah, I guess you could say that.
00:06:16You're not a cartoonist.
00:06:18No.
00:06:19I just like to sketch, and I draw sometimes.
00:06:21Yeah?
00:06:22Yeah.
00:06:25How about you?
00:06:25What's your, uh, what's your story?
00:06:27I got here a month ago from Oregon, staying in a house with three other girls, and got
00:06:34a job as a server, start tomorrow.
00:06:36Nice.
00:06:37Thought I'd spend today looking up at the sky if I'm going to be indoors for a while.
00:06:41So where do you, where is it?
00:06:43Where do you work?
00:06:43Station 39 over in Culver.
00:06:46Oh.
00:06:46I think I've been there like, like once.
00:06:48Yeah?
00:06:49Yeah.
00:06:50But I figure I'll do this for a while, figure out what to do next, keep my options open.
00:06:55That's a good idea.
00:06:56Mm-hmm.
00:06:58You're from around here, right?
00:07:00Yeah, I'm born and raised.
00:07:02So, what's it like to grow up here?
00:07:05I don't know.
00:07:06You know, it's, it's L.A.
00:07:08Things never really stay the same for now.
00:07:12I got this tech company that just moved in, right?
00:07:14They're buying up all these buildings, ruining the community.
00:07:19But, uh, gentrification, I guess.
00:07:23But, I mean, it's L.A.
00:07:26Okay.
00:07:29So, what have you got planned the rest of the day?
00:07:34I don't know.
00:07:35I don't work there tomorrow either.
00:07:37And I was at home doing some sketches earlier, and I figure, why not get out and enjoy some
00:07:41fresh air, too?
00:07:42Mm-hmm.
00:07:43Yeah.
00:07:45I bet you could do a great tap dance in those shoes.
00:07:52Oh, God.
00:07:54Oh, thank you.
00:07:56You're welcome.
00:07:57So good.
00:07:58I need a little work.
00:07:58Maybe some tapas.
00:08:00Throw that in with some drawing classes.
00:08:02We're good.
00:08:03You'll be good to go.
00:08:04Yeah.
00:08:04Yeah.
00:08:05I can draw with my...
00:08:06Oh, oh, look at you.
00:08:08An artist with your feet.
00:08:09There you go.
00:08:10You can start a new thing right here in Venice.
00:08:12Right here on the boardwalk.
00:08:13In the sand.
00:08:15I've come.
00:08:16I'll draw pictures.
00:08:17I'll draw pictures.
00:08:17I'll draw pictures.
00:08:17You do.
00:08:23You hungry?
00:08:24Let's have a drink.
00:08:24Yes.
00:08:25Okay, good.
00:08:25Let's go.
00:08:27No.
00:08:28No.
00:08:38No.
00:08:39No.
00:08:40No.
00:08:44No.
00:08:45No.
00:08:51No.
00:09:07Well, it was nice spending the day with you, Will.
00:09:10You too, Miss.
00:09:11You on social media?
00:09:13No, I'm not.
00:09:14Well, you should have guessed with you looking like a folk singer and those strange clogs
00:09:18and that hat and beard.
00:09:19I just want to download your latest album, but of course you're not on social media.
00:09:22I think my clogs are strange.
00:09:24What about that shirt, Janis Joplin?
00:09:26Strange is good sometimes.
00:09:28Okay, I'll take that.
00:09:29Text me sometime.
00:09:31I will.
00:09:34Oh, by the way, I don't drive, so if you ever want to ask me out on a date, I
00:09:37hope you can take it.
00:09:38I don't drive either.
00:09:40The mass transit system here is good enough for me.
00:09:42I will.
00:09:43Bye, Liz.
00:09:58She's lost.
00:10:25Hey, Liz, it's Will.
00:10:26Well, I really enjoyed spending the day with you.
00:10:33Are you free tomorrow evening?
00:10:36Care to go on an adventure?
00:10:57Bye.
00:11:32Do you like art?
00:11:33That's a random question.
00:11:35I don't know.
00:11:36I guess.
00:11:38I suppose it's what you would consider to be art.
00:11:42We're going to an art crawl downtown.
00:11:44That's the reason why I was asking.
00:11:47Do I like that mural?
00:11:49Sure.
00:11:49I'd say that's cool, but I don't know if it's art.
00:11:53Oh, that's art.
00:11:55Ellie's filled with that.
00:11:56Okay.
00:11:57Well, what's art to you?
00:12:01Edward Hopper.
00:12:03I was fascinated by his work when I was a kid.
00:12:06I think I know who that is.
00:12:10That's Edward Hopper.
00:12:13Nighthawks.
00:12:13He's a master of capturing what it feels like to be all alone in this world.
00:12:17Okay.
00:12:18I know who you're talking about.
00:12:20Yes, that's art.
00:12:23Or the Mona Lisa, I guess.
00:12:26The Mona Lisa?
00:12:27What?
00:12:29Hey, the Mona Lisa.
00:12:32What about it?
00:12:34You've just given me an idea, actually.
00:12:39Please stand clear.
00:12:41The doors are closing.
00:12:44by the door.
00:12:46They're closing.
00:12:47They're closing.
00:12:47And they're closing.
00:12:55No, they're closing.
00:13:00They'll let you know if I can see it here.
00:13:00No.
00:13:02Yeah.
00:13:30So what kind of artist did you want to be on
00:13:32when you were starting out?
00:13:33Like what we just saw or Edward Hopper?
00:13:35No, I really liked a couple of local artists,
00:13:39Ed Moses and Craig Kaufman.
00:13:41Their styles really appealed to me.
00:13:44Then I started experimenting with different concepts,
00:13:47meshing different styles and movements together.
00:13:50But then they said that my paintings weren't original enough,
00:13:54that my source of inspiration were too obvious.
00:13:57Who kept saying?
00:13:58The others of art school.
00:14:01Oh.
00:14:08So I took a different turn, more abstract, I guess you could say.
00:14:13I try to paint things within my reach.
00:14:16I try to make discoveries.
00:14:18The challenge is to work against simply succeeding.
00:14:21The more a painting eludes control and loses its calculated options,
00:14:27the closer I feel to a formulation that feels right.
00:14:33Wow.
00:14:34That's very thought out.
00:14:38I've had a lot of time to think about it.
00:14:40No, but seriously.
00:14:41You got all that shit worked out and these are just your thoughts on painting.
00:14:45I don't have anything in my life figured out.
00:14:48At all.
00:14:48I'm just walking through life blindly hoping it'll all make sense to me.
00:14:54Well, you gotta have some ambitions or goals or something, right?
00:14:58Everybody has them.
00:15:00I suppose.
00:15:02I always wanted to open up an organic farm and hook up with some environmentalists and
00:15:06go completely off the grid.
00:15:07That's interesting.
00:15:09Environmentalism.
00:15:10You sure do need it.
00:15:12Yeah, but instead I chose to move to the biggest city on the west coast.
00:15:16Filled with overpopulation and pollution and traffic and loud flashing lights.
00:15:21That's what we pay for in exchange for all the sunshine, beaches and weed.
00:15:25Yeah, I've done nothing to save the environment, so go figure that out.
00:15:29Still got time.
00:15:32Don't be so hard on yourself, please.
00:15:35So where'd you go to art school?
00:15:37Here in L.A.?
00:15:38No, I got out here as soon as I could.
00:15:40Right after high school I ran and I studied abroad.
00:15:43I lived in Germany for five years.
00:15:45Wow.
00:15:46I've never been to Europe.
00:15:49You totally went after every fancy European girl you laid your eyes on, huh?
00:15:53It's okay.
00:15:54Don't deny it.
00:15:55No.
00:15:58No, but to just go there and just be left to my own devices.
00:16:01To just be there.
00:16:04It was amazing.
00:16:07Europe's nice.
00:16:09Like, very nice.
00:16:12That's where my clogs came from.
00:16:14Wow.
00:16:14Everybody in art school wore them.
00:16:16Just can't get rid of them.
00:16:19I used to take the train from Frankfurt to Munich to Berlin.
00:16:26Sometimes I'd head over to Paris.
00:16:28London a few times too.
00:16:30Take the bullet train underneath the English Channel.
00:16:35Good old days.
00:16:36So can you speak any German?
00:16:42What did you say?
00:16:44What did you say?
00:16:44What does that mean?
00:16:46It means I think you're very pretty.
00:16:47Good old days.
00:16:52Oh my gosh.
00:16:55Shit.
00:16:55I always wanted to go to Europe.
00:16:57Never had the money though.
00:17:00There in New York.
00:17:02Instead, I moved here. It was closer to home.
00:17:05Why did you come back?
00:17:08Thought I could make it work.
00:17:10In my own studio.
00:17:12It showcased at a couple galleries.
00:17:14And I got a job to live.
00:17:16That's all I've really been doing.
00:17:18But you said you're drunk.
00:17:19Oh yeah, I mean, in my sketchbooks.
00:17:22It doesn't really count now, does it?
00:17:23It's not what I came back here to do.
00:17:25So who's stopping you from doing what you want?
00:17:28Hey, dammit.
00:17:35Has anybody ever painted your portrait?
00:17:39Jimmy Russo in the 11th grade said he was going to have my face tattooed on his leg.
00:17:44So every day he could look down and see me.
00:17:47I don't think that counts though.
00:17:50Did he ever get the tattoo?
00:17:52No. Oh my god.
00:17:54It would have been horrible.
00:17:55To have my face permanently inked on someone's leg.
00:17:58Not even on his chest like a pirate.
00:18:01But on his leg.
00:18:04Oh god.
00:18:05What a weird story.
00:18:08I wonder where he is now.
00:18:10Lord knows.
00:18:12Probably Texas.
00:18:13Texas?
00:18:15What's up in Texas?
00:18:16After all the big boys.
00:18:19I guess he is a big boy with a big calf.
00:18:22Ha, ha.
00:18:23Ha, ha.
00:18:24Ha, ha.
00:18:26I know.
00:18:50Ha-ha.
00:19:09A train to report on it, Bruce Breyer.
00:19:12Please stand back, head to the left.
00:19:32A train to report on it, Bruce Breyer.
00:19:33A train to report on it, Bruce Breyer.
00:19:39A train to report on it, Bruce Breyer.
00:19:40A train to report on it, Bruce Breyer.
00:20:00A train to report on it, Bruce Breyer.
00:20:15A train to report on it, Bruce Breyer.
00:20:19Hey!
00:20:20Hey there.
00:20:21You didn't answer my earlier calls.
00:20:23Sorry about that, I was at work.
00:20:25Oh, I should have thought of that.
00:20:26What's up?
00:20:27Um, we're having a party over at my house.
00:20:29My roommates are doing Taco Tuesday El Grande.
00:20:33What's that?
00:20:34I don't know!
00:20:35Come over!
00:20:36Alright.
00:20:37Okay.
00:20:38Yeah, give me an hour.
00:20:39Let me, uh, change and shower.
00:20:41I'll be right over here.
00:20:42Okay.
00:20:45Ladies, this is Will.
00:20:48Hi, Will.
00:20:50Hello.
00:20:52That's Denise.
00:20:53That's Shelly.
00:20:54Ellie owns the places in here.
00:20:55She had her period and made her boyfriend's, I think.
00:20:58Okay.
00:21:00That's it.
00:21:01There you go.
00:21:02There you go.
00:21:02There you go.
00:21:03There you go.
00:21:04Whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:21:04He's a drinker.
00:21:05Whoa.
00:21:07He kind of interrupted my piece that I was having on the ground.
00:21:11You interrupted her piece?
00:21:12Yeah.
00:21:13I thought she fell.
00:21:15She fell?
00:21:16Okay, hold on.
00:21:17I was clearly lying down.
00:21:19Not bad.
00:21:19Liz, you're such a slut.
00:21:20Well, her bike was turned upside down.
00:21:22I was walking through the park.
00:21:23I was going to go sketch.
00:21:25And her bike was upside down and she was laying there on her tree.
00:21:28And I thought she was hurt.
00:21:30Her bike was upside down.
00:21:32Well.
00:21:33How did you configure that?
00:21:34And you were just like, use it as a pillow.
00:21:36It makes a little sense to me.
00:21:37Well, I guess it wasn't upside down.
00:21:39You were using your bike as a pillow?
00:21:40That's the most uncomfortable pillow in the world.
00:21:42The cushion.
00:21:42Of course he thought you fell down.
00:21:44Okay.
00:21:44See?
00:21:45Joy sweet.
00:21:45I know.
00:21:46Thank you, ladies.
00:21:47You're welcome.
00:21:49Okay, so then he just came up and was like...
00:21:53Then we had a day.
00:21:55I'm sorry, what?
00:21:56Then we had a day.
00:21:57And then you had a day.
00:21:58We had a day together.
00:21:59You had that little eyebrow on us.
00:22:00You showed me those things.
00:22:01It's a shorter bed.
00:22:01It's a shorter bed.
00:22:06It's a shorter bed.
00:22:10Hey Will, give me a beer?
00:22:13Sure.
00:22:16Is there anything left in it?
00:22:18I think so.
00:22:20Okay.
00:22:23Come with me.
00:22:25I need you.
00:22:32Yes!
00:22:57Kiss me a little.
00:23:26I need you.
00:23:28Are you okay?
00:23:30No.
00:23:31It's...
00:23:31Wait.
00:23:31Did I...
00:23:35Oh.
00:23:37Jesus.
00:23:42Liz?
00:23:45You coming in?
00:23:52You okay?
00:24:02Hey.
00:24:06No problem.
00:24:09Well, I guess I should get going.
00:24:12Stay.
00:24:14Stay with me.
00:24:19I can't.
00:24:21I have to work in the morning.
00:24:23So do I.
00:24:25In the evening.
00:24:32I can't.
00:24:34I wish I could.
00:24:35It's okay.
00:24:45Good night.
00:24:46Good night, Will.
00:24:54Good morning.
00:25:16We'll see you next time.
00:25:24Hey, thanks again for taking care of me last night.
00:25:27I didn't plan to be such a lush.
00:25:30See you soon
00:25:35Nice place. Thanks, then you're wild
00:25:42Is this me?
00:25:45You
00:25:48Wow
00:25:50Wasn't supposed to be but I couldn't get you out of my head the other days
00:25:54Put you down on paper
00:25:57I like it
00:26:03I
00:26:04I'd like to paint your portrait
00:26:07Okay
00:26:14Tell me more about yourself
00:26:18I've already told you everything about me
00:26:21Tell me more
00:26:24I don't know what else to say
00:26:27I'm exactly as you see
00:26:30I don't care. I don't bullshit
00:26:34I'm an open book
00:26:38You're fun
00:26:39That's all
00:26:42No
00:26:47How many other girls have you been with?
00:26:52Like relationship wise?
00:26:53Yeah, anything
00:26:56I've had my fair share of experiences I guess
00:26:59Come on
00:26:59Tell me
00:27:01I've told you everything about me already
00:27:06Well
00:27:08I dated this one girl for a little bit
00:27:10I thought it was love
00:27:15I thought it was love
00:27:32But
00:27:32You know
00:27:44Memorable
00:27:57Memorable
00:27:58This is the first time it feels like I'm back home
00:28:01So many trees
00:28:02It's nice to get out of the big city
00:28:04It's crazy to believe we're still there
00:28:09I used to have this recurring dream
00:28:12It doesn't happen lately but
00:28:14I'm wandering through the woods back home
00:28:15And it's like a weird kind of twilight
00:28:19I don't know if I've been wandering for hours
00:28:21Or if I just got there and
00:28:23There's a split in the path
00:28:25I don't know which way to go
00:28:26It's left or right
00:28:28And I just end up standing there
00:28:32Trying to decide
00:28:35Well which way do you take?
00:28:36I don't know
00:28:37I wake up before I make up my mind
00:28:42Do you have any dreams you remember?
00:28:46Yeah
00:28:48I have this one
00:28:51And I can't really give you the specifics but
00:28:53It's like I'm in this like quicksand
00:28:57And I can't move
00:29:00And I'm just like stuck there
00:29:03And like the quicksand keeps coming up
00:29:05I can feel it coming but I'm
00:29:09All alone and I have this feeling of just
00:29:12Like a black void
00:29:16It's weird and usually by the time the quicksand gets up to my waist
00:29:19I usually end up waking up at night
00:29:22Interesting
00:29:24I know it's weird I know
00:29:27Dreams they're weird
00:29:39Give me like two minutes to
00:29:42Stay normal
00:29:45Normal for two minutes
00:29:55Stop
00:29:55That's my best face
00:29:57That's
00:29:57Yeah
00:30:01Excuse me
00:30:03How much longer?
00:30:06Why all
00:30:07Can I get a drink?
00:30:09There it is
00:30:37Hey yourself
00:30:40Happy longest day of the year
00:30:41Happy longest day of the year to you, too.
00:30:43I always thought that one should do something special on the longest day of the year.
00:30:47Something fun and celebratory.
00:30:48Like, what did you have in mind?
00:30:50I don't know.
00:30:52But I'm with you, so it's pretty much as good as it can be.
00:30:55If you can make love, that would make it even better.
00:31:11Yeah.
00:31:27You're welcome!
00:31:29I'm pretty sorry.
00:31:30Do you want to go to me?
00:31:33I'm hungry!
00:31:34I'm hungry!
00:31:34I'm hungry!
00:31:35All right, so I'm guilty!
00:31:56Hey Will, I'm not wearing any underwear.
00:32:35I'm not wearing any underwear.
00:32:53Do you ever want kids?
00:32:54No.
00:32:56Your life's over when you have kids.
00:32:58You're stuck.
00:33:01Besides, look at this world.
00:33:02Do we really want to bring more people into it?
00:33:04It's all crashing down.
00:33:05You could always bring some good ones into it.
00:33:12I always loved wandering the streets really late at night.
00:33:15I did it all the time.
00:33:18I loved looking into the quietness and stillness of the streets.
00:33:22Sometimes I'd get in the middle of one and lay down pretending I'm all alone.
00:33:27It's a strange feeling.
00:33:30You're crazy.
00:33:31No, I'm not.
00:33:32I'm impulsive.
00:33:34Yep.
00:33:34What are you doing?
00:33:38Come on, come here.
00:33:39It feels so good.
00:33:50It does feel pretty good.
00:33:51It's great.
00:34:02You think you could be a hippie?
00:34:05I mean, you already dress and look like one, but just go.
00:34:10Just up and leave and live on the road.
00:34:13Make your way.
00:34:15Paying as you go and join a commune and a community that lives off the earth and is free.
00:34:24My parents were hippies.
00:34:26They were the ones back in the day.
00:34:29I don't think it turns out as well as you can imagine.
00:34:33Where are they now?
00:34:35They live in Palm Desert.
00:34:37I don't know where that is.
00:34:38That sounds far.
00:34:40It's a bit of a drive.
00:34:41It's just a couple hours outside of L.A.
00:34:44Mm-hmm.
00:34:52It's just like...
00:34:53You know, I think living off the road and everything, it sounds really good.
00:34:58I just...
00:34:59I just don't think it's for me.
00:35:03I think I'd rather move back to Germany instead.
00:35:10Besides, you know, how are we going to live off the road?
00:35:12Neither of us drive.
00:35:19You have a much nicer bed than I do.
00:35:23You'd be laying it all day.
00:35:25You can.
00:35:27I can't.
00:35:29I have to work at four.
00:35:32I started bartending tonight.
00:35:34No more serving lunch.
00:35:36Really?
00:35:36Mm-hmm.
00:35:38Congrats.
00:35:40You never told me earlier.
00:35:42I didn't want to think about it earlier.
00:35:46And, uh, I'll make a few more tips and it'll be easier to get off a few days so I
00:35:51can go back to the big old wire and see my folks for a few days.
00:35:59I can come.
00:36:01I'd love to meet your folks.
00:36:03No.
00:36:04My family's crazy.
00:36:07I don't want you meeting them.
00:36:10I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:14Yet.
00:36:17I'll only be gone for a few days.
00:36:20And we'll talk all the time.
00:36:23I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:24I love you.
00:36:27I love you.
00:36:32I love you.
00:36:49I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:51I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:51I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:52I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:52I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:53I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:53I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:53I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:53I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:54I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:54I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:56I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:58I don't want them meeting you.
00:37:03I don't want them meeting you.
00:37:16Hey, Will. I'm on the flight to Eugene. I'll see you in a couple of days. Don't miss me
00:37:20too much. See you soon. Love, Liz.
00:37:46Hey, Liz. It's Will again. Just wanted to call to see if you made it. I haven't got a text
00:37:52or haven't heard from you at all. I'm a little worried. I just want to know that you made
00:37:57it. Can you just call me back, please? We get this. Hi.
00:38:33You didn't even call. How could you not even call me? Well, I was going to. I got busy.
00:38:39I'm sorry. You didn't even text me. I didn't even know if you made it or not. Made it or
00:38:44not? Really, Will? I need to check the flights online just to make sure that you were okay.
00:38:49I wasn't even gone that long. I didn't know it was that big a deal to you. Big deal?
00:39:00You've been together for six months. I texted you multiple times. I don't even know how
00:39:08you couldn't have even noticed. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, babe.
00:39:38I'm glad to be back.
00:40:02I'm glad to be back. I'm glad you were okay. Call next time. Please?
00:40:05I will.
00:40:17I will.
00:40:41You should totally go to the mall next time.
00:40:53It feels like a little, like egg, you know when it cracks open a little chick comes out, and
00:40:59if you just draw like a little face of the chicken, of the little chick, it'd be super
00:41:02cute.
00:41:07See you tomorrow?
00:41:10You're working tomorrow, right?
00:41:11I worked a day shift, I'll be off at 6.
00:41:14How about I come in and hang out the last 15 minutes and afterwards we can go out.
00:41:19Okay?
00:41:20I like it.
00:41:25What?
00:41:29Why don't you move in with me?
00:41:33Well...
00:41:33I wouldn't charge your rent.
00:41:37I don't...
00:41:38I don't know.
00:41:41You know I like my space.
00:41:44I love escaping over to you, it's more fun.
00:41:47I look forward to coming over and spending days and nights with you.
00:41:52Do you know any men who want to pull back into?
00:41:56Besides, you do not want to look at this space 24 hours of every day.
00:42:01I could.
00:42:08I'm gonna think about you the whole way home.
00:42:10I bet you do.
00:42:13Be careful!
00:42:14Be careful!
00:42:15I'm gonna have to get you some sneakers like a normal guy.
00:42:17Oh, you don't want a normal guy.
00:42:19Just let me be.
00:42:20I'm an artist.
00:42:21I'm a unique and different kind of personality.
00:42:24I don't long to belong.
00:42:27But I want to belong to you.
00:42:29Good night, Will.
00:42:32Very good.
00:42:49Happy birthday, babe.
00:42:51Thanks.
00:42:52Make a wish.
00:42:58I made it all by myself.
00:43:00And it's got a raw crust, so I hope you like it.
00:43:05What's raw crust?
00:43:07There's no flour or dough.
00:43:09And it's got a bunch of unprocessed raw nuts, seeds, and dried fruit.
00:43:17Let's get that out.
00:43:19Okay.
00:43:20Okay.
00:43:22Ready?
00:43:25There we go.
00:43:31Well?
00:43:34It's good.
00:43:36Really?
00:43:36You're not bullshitting me?
00:43:38No.
00:43:39It's good.
00:43:40I wouldn't have known any different had you not told me this.
00:43:44Really, really?
00:43:46Really.
00:43:49Mmm.
00:43:51Thank you, babe.
00:43:53Cool.
00:43:53Cause I've been practicing at my place making all kinds of vegan food.
00:43:57I was hoping to make you some food, too.
00:44:00If you want.
00:44:02And you've been making me so many dinners, so.
00:44:06Yeah.
00:44:08Yeah.
00:44:09Yeah.
00:44:10That'd be nice.
00:44:12Thanks, Liz.
00:44:14Bye.
00:44:14Bye.
00:44:14Bye.
00:44:24What's good?
00:44:24It's good.
00:44:27No, not so good.
00:44:31It's not.
00:44:32I need water.
00:44:34Oh, God.
00:44:36It's bad.
00:44:37Oh, it's not.
00:44:38Okay.
00:44:39I'm eating it.
00:44:41Happy birthday.
00:44:56I don't know, I'm just...
00:45:11I know.
00:45:13Okay, don't let go.
00:45:20Whoo!
00:45:52I don't know.
00:46:37Hey, I'm sorry.
00:46:39It's been like an hour.
00:46:40I know.
00:46:41I'm sorry.
00:46:46Hey.
00:46:48Hey.
00:46:51Come on, let's go.
00:46:55Let's go.
00:47:19Let's go.
00:47:22Let's go.
00:47:23Let's go.
00:47:24Let's go.
00:47:27Let's go.
00:47:27I don't know how you do it.
00:47:28Let's go.
00:47:52Let's go.
00:47:57Let's go.
00:48:02Let's go.
00:48:04Let's go.
00:48:09Let's go.
00:48:18Let's go.
00:48:33Let's go.
00:48:40Let's go.
00:48:41Let's go.
00:48:45Let's go.
00:48:46Let's go.
00:48:59Let's go.
00:49:07Let's go.
00:49:07Let's go.
00:49:07Let's go.
00:49:07Let's go.
00:49:09Let's go.
00:49:09Let's go.
00:49:34Let's go.
00:49:44Let's go.
00:49:48Let's go.
00:49:53Let's go.
00:49:57Let's go.
00:49:58Let's go.
00:49:58Let's go.
00:50:13Let's go.
00:50:15Let's go.
00:50:19Let's go.
00:50:31Let's go.
00:50:35Let's go.
00:50:36Let's go.
00:50:41Let's go.
00:50:41You know, this is one of the best Christmases I think I've ever had.
00:50:50Actually, it is the best.
00:50:54The thing that always makes me so sad is there's so much build up to Christmas.
00:50:59Now it's over, and then it's New Years, and two weeks later everyone's miserable you know?
00:51:05Time goes so fast.
00:51:11What do you want to do for New Year's?
00:51:13Want to go to a bar or a party?
00:51:16You were never the one to mention a bar or party when we first met.
00:51:20You've changed me.
00:51:24And then let's stay in.
00:51:25My housemates are all going out with their friends and...
00:51:29I'm enjoying this.
00:55:00Thanks for dinner.
00:55:01I'm going to go drink it up.
00:55:39Tony's always saying there's nothing here in L.A. that's free entertainment.
00:55:42I'm just saying go watch the ocean.
00:55:44That's never uninteresting.
00:55:46Who's Tony?
00:55:47He's just a new bartender at work.
00:55:49We have a couple shifts together.
00:55:51It's been weirdly busy.
00:55:52Like I told you, everyone gets depressed and goes out drinking.
00:55:56They'll try to start the new year off right, but nobody can ever follow through.
00:56:01We can do something else.
00:56:02I mean, if this isn't...
00:56:03I was in bullshitting when I said I'd like to go to the ocean.
00:56:06It's become my favorite thing to do.
00:56:08It helps me think and straighten out my mind.
00:56:37Hey.
00:56:39Hey.
00:56:40Hey.
00:56:40Hey.
00:56:41What are you doing here?
00:56:43Nothing.
00:56:44Work was slow, so they decided to close early.
00:56:47Figured I'd swing by and surprise you.
00:56:49See what you were up to.
00:56:52Do you want a drink?
00:56:54Sure.
00:56:59So, uh, is your friend Tony working today?
00:57:04It's slow.
00:57:05They called Tony off.
00:57:10Don't forget to take the bartender.
00:57:12There's a message coming in somewhere.
00:57:18I can't see you
00:57:22And I've got where to be here.
00:57:55I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
00:58:18Hey, glad you could make it, what's up?
00:58:21Who's that?
00:58:22No one, just Shelly's friend from work.
00:58:23Liz?
00:58:25Who was that?
00:58:26God, Will.
00:58:27Lighten up.
00:58:29Everything's fine.
00:58:30Here, have a drink.
00:58:33What is this?
00:58:35What's going on?
00:58:37We're not the same anymore.
00:58:38Nothing's going on.
00:58:39I don't know.
00:58:40Everyone all tensed up lately.
00:58:41I don't know.
00:58:44Yeah.
00:58:50It should be good.
00:59:25Hi.
00:59:26I know I'm late.
00:59:27Yeah, you're really late.
00:59:28I was stuck at work.
00:59:29You went by at work today?
00:59:30I said that you had the day off.
00:59:41Liz.
00:59:42No.
00:59:46Are you still hungry?
00:59:47Do you want to go to dinner?
00:59:49Why, you don't want to?
00:59:50Did I say that?
00:59:50I didn't say that.
00:59:51I said, do you still want to?
00:59:54Where were you?
00:59:56I have my own life, Will.
00:59:59I don't have to report to you for everything just because you think your life revolves around
01:00:03me.
01:00:04Where were you, Liz?
01:00:07Stop lying to me.
01:00:09I was getting dressed and I was trying to look my best for you and I took too long there.
01:00:17I'm sure they've given away your table by now anyway so it doesn't even really matter.
01:00:19On a Tuesday night?
01:00:20Yeah.
01:00:22Yeah, how would you know?
01:00:23I work at a bar.
01:00:23Yeah?
01:00:29Been hanging out with your friend Tony a lot there lately too?
01:00:31God, what is up with you?
01:00:33I'm sorry I'm late.
01:00:34I'm here now.
01:00:34Let's go to dinner.
01:00:39Fine.
01:00:41Go.
01:00:42Great.
01:01:09Good to see you again.
01:01:12Alright.
01:01:16Hey. I was thinking of going to this gallery opening tonight in downtown. Would you like
01:01:20to come with? I'll buy you dinner. 7 p.m.
01:01:25Hey. No. Sorry. I have too much to do tonight.
01:01:31What's happening? How about Friday night?
01:01:35No. Well, back off.
01:01:54Nope. I work. Maybe another time.
01:02:13Hmm.
01:02:47Hmm.
01:02:50Hmm.
01:02:53Hmm.
01:02:55Hmm.
01:02:57Hmm.
01:02:59Hmm.
01:03:08Hmm.
01:03:10Hmm.
01:03:21Hmm.
01:03:23Hmm.
01:03:26Hmm.

01:03:54Hmm.
01:03:55Hmm.
01:05:12Hey.
01:05:23Hey.
01:05:27Thanks for meeting up with me.
01:05:34It's warm today for a change.
01:05:37Global warming.
01:05:40Yeah.
01:05:43Yeah.
01:05:48I'm moving on.
01:05:51I'm thinking of going back to Oregon.
01:05:58I don't think LA is right for me.
01:06:01Maybe it's not the right time.
01:06:03I don't know.
01:06:04I hate bartending.
01:06:09I don't know what the hell I'm doing at all, Will.
01:06:14I just...
01:06:15You're going home?
