00:00A right-wing troll is running for governor of Florida right now, and he's proving to be startlingly popular with
00:04young Republicans.
00:06James Fishback might be America's first griper political candidate.
00:09He has praised Nick Fuentes, and he's accused his black opponent of trying to turn Florida into a Section 8
00:16ghetto.
00:16And yet young people are just lapping it up.
00:19A recent poll of Floridians showed that the overall voter base backs Byron Donald's, Fishback's opponent, by a 5-to
00:27-1 margin.
00:27But if you look at 18-to-34-year-olds, Fishback is way in the lead with a 4-to
00:33-1 lead over Byron Donald's.
00:35Fishback will do anything to get a click or generate controversy.
00:38He joined Tinder to meet young female voters.
00:41He also uses really offensive language like goyslop, which is a term that is thrown around by the alt-right
00:48and re-appropriated to be anti-Semitic.
00:50He believes that young men that listen to Nick Fuentes are, quote, actually incredibly informed and insightful and very patriotic,
00:57and admitted to watching Fuentes' show himself.
01:01And a lot of his campaign rhetoric is extremely conservative.
01:04He is not just campaigning against illegal immigration.
01:08He is also campaigning on removing every foreign worker who has stolen a job from us.
01:14Conservatives have been very excited about a recent shift, especially among young men to the right, but I think that
01:19Fishback's popularity with them should really cause all of us to pause and consider what the future of the party
01:24looks like.
01:25Young people are gravitating towards radically different candidates from their parents and their grandparents, and these tend to be people
01:31that are more provocateurs than politicians.
01:34The future of the Republican Party looks pretty grim if people like Fishback are at its helm.
