Iran’s top security chief Ali Larijani has stunned viewers by claiming on Iranian TV that several American soldiers have been “taken prisoner” in the ongoing U.S.–Iran war, directly contradicting Washington’s insistence that all missing U.S. troops were killed in action. Tehran is portraying the alleged captures as one of its biggest battlefield wins and a personal humiliation for Donald Trump, while U.S. officials dismiss the claims as Iranian propaganda designed to sway global opinion and rattle American domestic politics.

00:15Hello everybody, it's a very sad day and I'm glad we paid our respects. It's a tough situation.
00:26Great people, great parents, wives, family, and a beautiful ceremony. I guess you got to see the Middle East march.
00:36Any questions, President Trump?
00:38Did what you just witnessed make you think differently about going ahead with this war or even putting troops on
00:44the ground in the Middle East?
00:46We're winning the war by a lot. We've decimated their whole evil empire. It'll continue, I'm sure, for a little
00:55while.
00:57But very proud of the people, the parents. The parents were so proud of their boy, as they call him.
01:05My boy, one case, the young lady. Their parents are so proud. Many of them are military parents, as you
01:13know.
01:13But it's always a very sad thing. The war itself is going unbelievably. It's as good as it can be.
01:22We have Pete here, Pete, and Steve Witkoff here. We have some additional questions.
01:28You're one week in now, sir. You're one week in at this point. How long as of now do you
01:35expect operations to win?
01:36Well, I think we've accomplished more in one week than anyone thought possible.
01:38We've wiped out their Navy 44 ships. We've wiped out their Air Force, every plane.
01:44We've wiped out most of their missiles. You see, the missiles aren't coming much anymore.
01:49We've also hit the manufacturing areas where they make the missiles very hard.
01:55Their drone capacity is way down. And we've hurt them where it hurts, including about every form of leadership you
02:05can have.
02:05We've wiped out. You still expect up to six weeks total?
02:09I don't know. I don't know. I never reject time, whatever it takes. But the military has almost nonexistent, if
02:18you like.
02:19We could hit the military itself very hard, but maybe we will. Maybe we will. We haven't made that determination.
02:25What do you think about gas prices right now? Are you worried about gas prices right now?
02:30No, no, no. This is a short excursion into something that should have been done for 47 years.
02:3847 years it's taken to do this, and no president had the guts to do it.
02:42You're going to end up coming back to Dover for more of these such dignified transfers?
02:50Sure, I hate to Dover. But it's a part of war, isn't it? Who are you with?
02:56The Washington Post.
02:58What do you say, it's a part of war?
03:01The deaths are a part of war, yeah.
03:03Yeah, it's a part of war. It's a sad part of war. It's the bad part of war.
03:08Mr. President, did the United States bomb a girls' elementary school in southern Iran on the first day of the
03:14war and kill 175 people?
03:15No, in my opinion, based on what I've seen, that was done by Iran.
03:20Is that true, Mr. Hickson? It was Iran who did that? We're certainly investigating. Still investigating.
03:25But the only side that targets civilians is Iran.
03:31We think it was done, we think it was done by Iran.
03:34Because they're very inaccurate, as you know, with their munitions.
03:38They have no accuracy whatsoever. It was done by Iran.
03:41Can you give us an idea of what unconditional surrender looks like to you?
03:45I mean, what do you want from Iran?
03:46I said unconditioned, not conditioned. I said unconditioned.
03:50It's where they cry uncle or when they can't fight any longer and there's nobody around to cry uncle.
03:57That could happen too, because we've wiped out their leadership numerous times already.
04:03So, it's if they surrender or if there is nobody around to surrender, but they're rendered useless in terms of
04:11military.
04:12Our leaders are united on this issue and have no disagreements with one another.
04:17We have no divisions among ourselves in fighting Israel and the United States.
04:22Trump does not understand that Iranians may have differences among themselves, but they are still Iranian and they stand with
04:29Iran.
04:30The idea of breaking Iran apart will not gain their cooperation.
04:34And besides that, they have seen your history of interventions in the region.
04:38Trump says he should interfere in choosing Iran's next leader.
04:42Well, that shows he is a very backward ignorant person.
04:46He assassinated our leader, we will not let him, Trump, go.
04:52Every day, frequently, hundreds of missiles are hitting them.
04:56So where are they coming from?
04:58They have the wrong understanding.
05:00Thankfully, our missile stockpiles are fully intact and are continuing operations and it is being carried out very carefully.
05:07The strikes carried out by the Islamic Republic will continue.
05:11We will not let them go.
05:13They should not think that we will allow the Americans to quickly bring this matter to an end and say,
05:18we struck them, now let's wrap it up.
05:21This can only be wrapped up when they understand that they no longer have the right to attack Iran,
05:26and when they compensate the Iranian nation for the damages.
05:29This disgraceful act they have created on the international stage carries a heavy cost.
05:35They assassinated the leader of Iran.
05:37The price for it will not be small.
05:39But the nature of war itself creates insecurity.
05:42It naturally causes disruptions to air traffic and to maritime traffic.
05:47We have not closed the Strait of Hormuz.
05:49It has effectively been closed by the situation itself.
05:52No one can pass through because there is continuous fighting there.
05:57Even we have told our friends in Europe that if you get involved in the war, we will be forced
06:02to confront you as well.
06:03They know this.
06:04We have no desire to expand the war.
06:07But if they themselves intervene, we will have no choice but to respond.
06:11Our leadership council has announced that the necessary arrangements should be made by the security forces
06:17so that the assembly of experts can convene under appropriate conditions and make it so
06:22what the player feels like to assert no matter.
