00:07by allegedly receiving bribes totaling RM232.5 million and obtaining RM200 million
00:14in proceeds from illegal activities will begin on Monday at the Kuala Lumpur High Court.
00:20The proceedings will be presided over by Judge Noor Ruwina Muhammad Nurdin
00:24and the prosecution is expected to call 30 witnesses.
00:28Two witnesses are scheduled to testify on Monday.
00:32On October 7 last year, the Attorney General's chambers dismissed Muhyiddin's application
00:37to have seven charges against him dropped.
00:40Muhyiddin, who was then Prime Minister and Bersatu President,
00:44was charged with four counts of using his position to obtain bribes
00:47totaling RM232.5 million in connection with the Jana Wibawa project.
00:54The alleged bribes involved three companies,
00:56Bukhari Equity Sendiriyan Berhad, Nepturis Sendiriyan Berhad,
01:00and Mamfor Sendiriyan Berhad, as well as Datuk Azman Yusof for the party.
01:05The offences were allegedly committed at the Prime Minister's office,
01:09Bangunan Perdana Putra in Putrajaya, between March 2020 and August 2021.
01:15The PAGO MP also faces three counts of receiving proceeds from illegal activities
01:20totaling RM200 million from Bukhari Equity Sendiriyan Berhad.
01:24The funds were reportedly deposited into Bersatu's AMBank and CIMB bank accounts
01:29at branches in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur between February 2021 and July 2022.
