00:04I was very depressed, and my gosh, I really wanted my Birkin collection, and then I remember, I said, how
00:14am I gonna make money when I'm not, I'm doing my soap still, and I called it the Birkin Foundation,
00:20it was a joke, and so I started to paint, and I remember I started with a big canvas because
00:26my husband said, you have to already get over your feet,
00:30and stop painting small, do a big one, shock them all, so as you can see, this is my table,
00:37which is where I paint, so this is the Kelly bag that I will be making my canvas today, so
00:45this is from my client who lives in L.A.,
00:56So for the lips, I think I am going to be doing something different,
01:05That is it, I think I'm done, it's been five hours,
01:14I woke up one day, and when I went to her room, her room was beige, and when I saw
01:21she had painted on the walls, okay, as in red paint, yellow paint, all over the walls, so I was
01:29like, what happened, she was just painting, period.
01:33I loved it, because I felt like that little child in me was finally able to express and be present,
01:39but I launched it as Love Marie, not as Heart, because I knew that with Heart, it would come with
01:44a lot of criticism, and I remember launching it, not really on my social media, but through my friends in
01:52their apartment, and then that's when I started to paint on Birkins, and then it became a whole thing because
01:57I was actually able to build my house because of my savings from my painting,
02:02because I would buy a Birkin for like 200,000, and then I'd paint on it, and I'd sell it
02:07for like almost 2 million, as smart.
02:11Whenever she's passionate about something, she's always determined to put in all of her efforts to accomplish it.
02:20A lot of the time, I don't tell her, but she's inspiring for me, because I always see her working,
02:27and she's up early, so a lot of the time, like 4am, and I'm like, oh,
02:31it makes me want to do more stuff and work harder too, like she does.
02:37It started when Heart would reach out and tell the network that there were certain things that she would like
02:46to pursue, which were rather, at the time, unconventional.
02:50Looking at, let's say, an actress, preferring to set aside a soap in favor of, well, other endeavors that included
02:59fashion.
03:00Well, art is fashion. That's how I kind of veered into Fashion Week was because I met Michael Cost of
03:09Hermès. He was the head PR because of my painted back.
03:12And during that same trip, when I came to meet him, I met some people that said, oh, come, there's
03:19a new house opening, and it's for a brand called Scapparelli.
03:24The next thing we all knew, there was a Filipino international influencer for luxury and fashion, all practically through her
03:36own self-determined efforts. So, I mean, that's remarkable.
03:41I think it's a lot. And when they say, when they say global fashion icon, it's like, you are on
03:47legacy mode. I feel like I'm really far from legacy mode. I feel, I don't know if my story is
03:54anything, maybe I haven't completed the story.
03:58And I want to play out first and least to like you when I go out.

04:10And she does it so well with just paper mache, pinipaint niya, and grabe talaga yung exact details. Pati yung
04:19red carpet ng gila ginaya.
04:20So, it's really flattering that they, in a sense, copy or they put the hashtag hard made me do it.
04:28But what's more flattering for me isn't that I'm replicated, but more of like, I make them smile with just
04:37a simple decision that I made that day.
04:40Alam ko, nakikita natin siya as this fashionista, style icon, global image, or global ambassador all over the world.
04:51Pero once you get the chance to know her, kasi, kita mo, parang hindi mo makikita yung side na yun

04:59So, I think that's one of the things that makes me feel comfortable around Heart is her authenticity.
