02:10O God, author of every mercy and of all goodness,
02:13who in fasting, prayer, and almsgiving has shown us a remedy for sin,
02:18look graciously on this confession of our lowliness,
02:22that we who bow down by our conscience may always be lifted up by your mercy.
02:27To our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
02:32God, forever and ever.
02:34Amen.
02:35A reading from the book of Exodus.
02:38In those days, in their thirst for water, the people grumbled against Moses, saying,
02:44Why did you ever make us leave Egypt?
02:47Was it just to have us die here of thirst with our children and our livestock?
02:52So Moses cried out to the Lord,
02:55What shall I do with his people?
02:58A little more, and they will stone me.
03:00The Lord answered Moses,
03:03Go over there in front of the people, along with some of the elders of Israel,
03:08holding in your hand as you go the staff with which you struck the water.
03:14I will be standing there in front of you on the rock in Horeb.
03:18Strike the rock, and the water will flow from it for the people to drink.
03:24This Moses did in the presence of the elders of Israel.
03:27The place was called Massah and Meribah,
03:31because the Israelites quarreled there and tested the Lord, saying,
03:36Is the Lord in our midst or not?
03:38The word of the Lord.
03:40Thanks be to God.
03:47If today you hear his voice,
04:00If today you hear his voice,
04:07Pardon not your hearts.
04:13Come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord.
04:18Lord, let us acclaim the rock of our salvation.
04:26Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving.
04:32Let us joyfully sing psalms to him.
04:40If today you hear his voice,
04:46Pardon not your hearts.
04:53Come, let us bow down in worship.
04:57Let us kneel before the Lord who made us,
05:05For he is our God,
05:10And we are the people he shepherds,
05:15The flock he guides.
05:20If today you hear his voice,
05:27Pardon not your hearts.
05:33Oh, that today you would hear his voice,
05:39Pardon not your hearts as at Meribah,
05:43As in the day of Massa in the desert,
05:50Where your fathers tempted me,
05:55They tested me,
05:57Though they had seen my works.
06:04If today you hear his voice,
06:11Pardon not your hearts.
06:17A reading from the letter of St. Paul to the Romans.
06:21Brothers and sisters,
06:22Since we have been justified by faith,
06:25We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
06:29Through whom we have gained access by faith
06:32To the grace in which we stand.
06:35And we boast in hope of the glory of God,
06:38And hope does not disappoint,
06:40Because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts
06:44Through the Holy Spirit,
06:46Who has been given to us.
06:48For Christ, while he was still helpless,
06:51Died at the appointed time for the ungodly.
06:54Indeed, only with difficulty does one die for a just person.
07:01Though perhaps for a good person,
07:03One might even find courage to die.
07:05But God proves his love for us,
07:08In that while we were still sinners,
07:11Christ died for us.
07:13The word of the Lord.
07:15Thanks be to God.
07:19Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ,
07:26King of endless glory.
07:33Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ,
07:39King of endless glory.
07:46Lord, you are truly the Savior of the world.
07:54Give me living water that I may never thirst again.
08:07Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ,
08:12King of endless glory.
08:21The Lord be with you.
08:23And with your spirit.
08:24A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
08:28Glory to you, O Lord.
08:30Jesus came to a town of Samaria called Sychar,
08:33near the plot of land that Jacob had given to his son Joseph.
08:37Jacob's well was there.
08:39Jesus, tired from his journey,
08:41sat down there at the well.
08:43It was about noon.
08:45A woman of Samaria came to draw water.
08:48Jesus said to her,
08:50Give me a drink.
08:51His disciples had gone into town to buy food.
08:55The Samaritan woman said to him,
08:58How can you, a Jew, ask me,
09:00a Samaritan woman, for a drink?
09:03For Jews use nothing in common with Samaritans.
09:07Jesus answered and said to her,
09:09If you knew the gift of God and who was asking to you,
09:13Give me a drink, you would have asked him,
09:15and he would have given you living water.
09:18The woman said to him,
09:20Sir, you do not even have a bucket,
09:22and the cistern is deep.
09:24Where then can you get this living water?
09:26Are you greater than our father Jacob,
09:29who gave us this cistern and drank from it himself,
09:32but his children and his flock?
09:34Jesus answered and said to her,
09:37Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,
09:40but whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst.
09:44The water I shall give will become in him a spring of water,
09:49welling up to eternal life.
09:51The woman said to him,
09:53Sir, give this water to me,
09:55that I may not be thirsty
09:57or have to keep coming here to draw water.
10:00Jesus said to her,
10:02Go, call your husband and come back.
10:05The woman answered and said to him,
10:08I do not have a husband.
10:10Jesus answered her,
10:12You are right in saying you do not have a husband,
10:15for you have had five husbands,
10:16and the one you have now is not your husband.
10:20What you have said is true.
10:22The woman said to him,
10:24Sir, I can see that you are a prophet.
10:26Our ancestors worshipped on this mountain,
10:29but you people say that the place to worship is in Jerusalem.
10:33Jesus said to her,
10:35Believe me, woman,
10:36the hour is coming when you will worship the Father,
10:39neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
10:43You people worship what you do not understand.
10:46We worship what we understand.
10:48But salvation is from the Jews.
10:52But the hour is coming and is now here
10:55when true worshippers will worship the Father
10:58in spirit and truth.
11:01And indeed, the Father seeks such people to worship him.
11:04God is spirit,
11:05and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
11:10The woman said to him,
11:12I know that the Messiah is coming,
11:14the one called the Christ.
11:15Christ, when he comes,
11:17he will tell us everything.
11:19Jesus said to her,
11:21I am he, the one speaking with you.
11:24At that moment,
11:25his disciples returned and were amazed
11:27that he was talking with a woman.
11:29But still no one said to him,
11:31What are you looking for?
11:32Or why are you talking with her?
11:34Then the woman left her water jar
11:37and went into town
11:39and said to the people,
11:40Come, see a man who told me everything I have done.
11:44Could he possibly be the Christ?
11:47He went out of the town.
11:49They went out of the town and came to him.
11:51Meanwhile, his disciples urged him,
11:53Rabbi, eat.
11:55But he said to them,
11:56I have food to eat of which you do not know.
11:59So disciples said to one another,
12:02Could someone have brought him something to eat?
12:05Jesus said to them,
12:07My food is to do the will of the one who sent me
12:10and to finish his work.
12:12Do you not say in four months the harvest will be here?
12:16I tell you, look up and see.
12:19Feels ripe for harvest.
12:21The reaper is already receiving his payment
12:23and gathering crops for eternal life.
12:26So the sower and the reaper can rejoice together.
12:32For here the saying is verified.
12:35One sows, another reaps.
12:38I sent you to reap what others have not,
12:40what you have not worked for.
12:42Others have done the work
12:44and you are sharing the fruits of their work.
12:47Many of the Samaritans of the town
12:49began to believe in him
12:51because of the word of the woman who testified.
12:53He told me everything I have done.
12:56When the Samaritans came to him,
12:58they invited him to stay with him
12:59and he stayed there two days.
13:03Many more began to believe in him
13:06because of his word.
13:07And they said to the woman,
13:08We no longer believe because of your word,
13:12for we have heard for ourselves
13:14and we know that this is truly
13:16the Savior of the world.
13:20Gospel of the Lord.
13:22Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
13:25Let us profess our faith with as much volume as we can.
13:30I believe in one God.
13:32Lord Jesus Christ, the only God and Son of God,
13:45born of the Father before all ages,
13:47God from God, life from light,
13:50true God from true God,
13:52begotten, not made,
13:53not substantial with the Father.
13:56Through him all things were made.
13:57For us men, for our salvation,
14:00he came down from heaven
14:02and by the Holy Spirit
14:04was incarnate of the Virgin Mary
14:06and became man.
14:08For our sake he was crucified
14:10under Pontius Pilate.
14:11He suffered death and was buried
14:13and rose again on the third day
14:16in accordance with the scriptures.
14:18He ascended into heaven
14:20and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
14:23He will come again in glory
14:25to judge the living and the dead
14:26and his kingdom will have no end.
14:29I believe in the Holy Spirit,
14:32the Lord, the giver of life,
14:34who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
14:36who with the Father and the Son
14:38is adored and glorified,
14:40who has spoken through the prophets.
14:42I believe in one holy,
14:45Catholic and apostolic church.
14:46I confess one baptism
14:49for the forgiveness of sins
14:50and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
14:53and the life of the world has come.
14:56Amen.
14:57For those preparing to enter the church at Easter,
15:00that they may find strength and courage
15:02in the Lord Jesus
15:03as they continue their Lenten pilgrimage.
15:06Let us pray to the Lord.
15:08Lord, hear our prayer.
15:10For those who hold public office
15:12and for peace and protection
15:14for all who risk their lives
15:15to establish peace among nations.
15:18Let us pray to the Lord.
15:20Lord, hear our prayer.
15:21For all families,
15:23especially those in our parish community,
15:25that they may grow in holiness
15:27and love for the Lord.
15:29Let us pray to the Lord.
15:30Lord, hear our prayer.
15:32That our rosaries pray for peace
15:34will inspire many,
15:35like the Samaritan woman,
15:37to give joyful and courageous testimony
15:39to Jesus and his mercy.
15:43Let us pray to the Lord.
15:45Lord, hear our prayer.
15:46For our deceased relatives and friends
15:49and all that have departed,
15:51that they may be gathered
15:52into the eternal joy
15:53of their heavenly home.
15:55May they rest in the peace of Christ.
15:57Let us pray to the Lord.
15:59Lord, hear our prayer.
16:01For all the prayers that we hold
16:03in the silence of our hearts.
16:09Let us pray to the Lord.
16:11Lord, hear our prayer.
16:14Almighty God,
16:15we thank you for this Lenten season,
16:17time of prayer, fasting,
16:18and works of mercy.
16:19Help us to come to the living water,
16:21Jesus Christ.
16:22If today we hear God's voice,
16:24may we not harden our hearts,
16:26but come to the living water
16:28through Christ our Lord.
16:30Amen.
16:32Amen.
16:37Like the woman at the well
16:42I was seeking
16:46For things that could not unsatisfy
16:52And then I heard my master speaking
17:01Draw from my well
17:05That never shall run dry
17:11Fill my cup, Lord
17:14I lift it up, Lord
17:19Come and quench this thirsting of my soul
17:26Bread of heaven
17:30Feed me till I want no more
17:36Fill my cup, fill it up
17:41And make me whole
17:49So my friend, if the things this world
17:55Gave you
17:56Leave hungers that won't pass away
18:05My blessed Lord will come and save you
18:12If you kneel to him and humbly pray
18:21Fill my cup, Lord
18:24Fill my cup, Lord
18:26I lift it up, Lord
18:29Come and quench this thirsting of my soul
18:36Bread of heaven
18:40Feed me till I want no more
18:46Fill my cup, Lord
18:50Fill my cup, fill it up
18:52And make me whole
18:55Fill my cup, fill it up
19:00And make me whole
19:11Pray, my brothers and sisters
19:13That my sacrifice in yours
19:15May be acceptable to God
19:16Our Almighty Father
19:17May the Lord
19:18May the Lord
19:31Who beseech pardon for our own sins
19:33May take care to forgive our neighbour
19:35Through Christ our Lord
19:37Amen
19:37The Lord be with you
19:39And with your spirit
19:40Lift up your hearts
19:42Lift it up to the Lord
19:43Let's give thanks to the Lord our God
19:45It is right and just
19:46It is truly right and just
19:48Our duty and our salvation
19:50Always and everywhere to give you thanks
19:52Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God
19:55Through Christ our Lord
19:56For when he asked the Samaritan woman
19:58For water to drink
19:59He had already created the gift of faith within her
20:03And so ardently did he thirst for her faith
20:05That he kindled in her
20:07The fire of divine love
20:09And so we too give you thanks
20:11And with the angels praise your mighty deeds
20:15As we acclaim
20:20Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy
20:24Lord, God of all
20:27For heaven and earth are full
20:32Full of your glory
20:38Hosanna
20:41Hosanna in the fire
20:58Hosanna
21:00Hosanna
21:01Hosanna
21:03Hosanna
21:06Hosanna
21:09Hosanna
21:10Hosanna
21:11Hosanna
21:11Hosanna
21:11Hosanna
21:11Hosanna
21:11Hosanna
21:12Hosanna
21:12Hosanna
21:13Hosanna
21:14Hosanna
21:22Chesterton said,
21:23For those who do not love God,
21:25the Mass is long and boring.
21:28Like Deacon Norm said in his homily,
21:31the Eucharist is Jesus.
21:34Be ready now to receive Jesus with joy,
21:38and he will fill your cup.
21:42You are indeed holy, O Lord,
21:44and from the world's beginning are ceaselessly at work,
21:47so that the human race may become holy
21:49just as you yourself are holy.
21:51Look, we pray, upon your people's offerings,
21:53and pour out on them the power of your Spirit,
21:55that they may become the body and blood
21:59of your beloved Son, Jesus Christ,
22:01in whom we too are your sons and daughters.
22:05Indeed, though we once were lost
22:06and could not approach you,
22:07you loved us with the greatest love.
22:10For your Son alone has just handed himself over to death
22:13and did not disdain to be nailed for our sake
22:16to the word of the cross.
22:17But before his arms are outstretched
22:19between heaven and earth,
22:20become the lasting sign of your covenant,
22:22he desired to celebrate the Passover with his disciples.
22:26As he ate with them,
22:27he took bread,
22:29and giving you thanks,
22:30he said the blessing,
22:31broke the bread,
22:33and gave it to them, saying,
22:34Take this, all of you,
22:37and eat of it.
22:38For this is my body,
22:41which will be given up for you.
22:44Amen.
22:51In a similar way, when supper was ended,
22:54knowing that he was about to reconcile
22:56all things in himself
22:57to his blood to be shed on the cross,
22:59he took the chalice filled with the fruit of the vine,
23:02and once more giving you thanks,
23:04handed the chalice to his disciples,
23:06saying,
23:06Take this, all of you,
23:08drink from it.
23:09For this is the chalice of my blood,
23:11the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
23:13which will be poured out for you
23:16and for many
23:17for the forgiveness of sins.
23:19Do this in memory of me.
23:28The mystery of faith.
23:37Take us, Savior of the world,
23:43for by your cross and resurrection
23:47you have set us free.
24:19Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial
24:21of your Son, Jesus Christ,
24:22through our Passover and our sureest peace,
24:24we celebrate his death and resurrection
24:26from the dead
24:27and looking forward to his blessed coming,
24:29we offer you who are our faithful
24:30and merciful God,
24:32this sacrificial victim
24:33who reconciles to you the human race.
24:35Look kindly, most compassionate Father,
24:38on those who unite to yourself
24:39by the sacrifice of your Son
24:41and grant that by the power of the Holy Spirit
24:43as they partake of this one bread
24:45and one chalice,
24:47they may be gathered into one body in Christ
24:49who heals every division.
24:51Be pleased to keep us always
24:53in communion of mind and heart
24:54together with Leo our Pope
24:56and Louis our Bishop.
24:57Help us to work together
24:58for the coming of your kingdom
24:59until the hour when we stand before you,
25:02saints among the saints
25:03in the halls of heaven,
25:04with the blessed Virgin Mary,
25:06mother of God,
25:07with blessed Joseph,
25:08our spouse,
25:08with the blessed apostles
25:09and all the saints
25:10and with our deceased brothers and sisters
25:13whom we humbly come into your mercy.
25:15Then freed at last
25:16from the wound of corruption
25:17and made fully into a new creation,
25:20we shall sing to you with gladness
25:22the thanksgiving of Christ
25:24who lives for all eternally.
25:26Through him and with him and in him,
25:29O God Almighty Father,
25:31in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
25:33all glory and honor is yours
25:35forever and ever.
25:45Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen,
26:06Please look at the crucifix now.
26:09God always wants to be number one in our hearts,
26:11so let us pray from the heart with as much volume as he can.
26:15Our Father, who art in heaven,
26:18hallowed be thy name.
26:19Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
26:23on earth as it is now.
26:25Give us this day our daily bread,
26:28and forgive us our trespasses,
26:31as we forgive those who trespass against us,
26:34and lead us not into temptation,
26:37but deliver us free.
26:39Deliver us, Lord, we pray from every evil,
26:41graciously grant peace in our days,
26:43that by the help of your mercy,
26:44we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress,
26:48as we await the blessed hope
26:49and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
26:52For the kingdom, the power, and the glory of your God,
26:55is now for us.
26:56Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles,
26:58Peace I leave you, my peace I give you,
27:01look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church,
27:03and graciously grant her peace and unity,
27:06in accordance with your will,
27:08who live and reign forever and ever.
27:10Amen.
27:11Peace of the Lord be with you always.
27:14And with your spirit.
27:15Let us offer each other a sign of peace.
27:18Peace.
27:18Thank you, Lord.
27:20Amen.
27:25Lamb of God,
27:30you take away the sins of the world,
27:36have mercy on us.
27:42Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
28:00Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us, grant us peace.
28:25Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world, blessed are those
28:31called to the supper of the Lamb.
28:33Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter into my room, but only say the word, and my
28:39soul shall be healed.
28:40May the body and blood of Christ keep us safe for eternal life.
28:44Amen.
28:45My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
28:50I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul.
28:54Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, commonly, spiritually, into my heart, I embrace
29:01you as if you were already there, and unite myself wholly to you.
29:06Never permit me to be separated from you.
29:09Amen.
29:10Bow your heads and pray in silence.
29:14As we receive the pledge of things yet hidden in heaven, and are nourished while still on
29:20earth, with the bread that comes from on high, we humbly entreat you, Lord, that what is being
29:26brought about in us in mystery may come to true completion, through Christ our Lord.
29:32Amen.
29:33The Lord be with you.
29:35And with you.
29:36And may Almighty God bless you.
29:38The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
29:41Amen.
29:42That's just ended.
29:43Go in peace.
29:44Love and serve the Lord.
29:46Thanks be to God.
