02:36confirmed nine fatalities specifically from a direct ballistic missile hit on a public shelter in Beit Shemesh on March 1.

02:43The Israeli police in an official police report identified nine killed in Beit Shemesh and have noted that 11 people

02:50remain missing as search and rescue operations continued.

02:54Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv confirmed the death of a 102-year-old man who died from a fall while

03:31Donald Trump in a nationwide broadcast issued a few hours ago over the joint Israel-U.S. military actions in

03:40has said that many Iranian soldiers are willing to surrender in order to save their lives,

03:51saying the joint military operations codenamed Operation Epic Fury has destroyed hundreds of Iranian targets since the military action began

04:47Iran was able to retaliate faster than it did in the 2025. 12-day war, and that its,

04:54mosaic defense, doctrine makes it resilient to infrastructure damage,

04:58Arachi called the killing of Khamenei, absolutely unprecedented and a major violation of international law,

05:05warning it had made the conflict, even more dangerous and more complicated, saying,

05:11Khamenei was not only Iran's political leader, but, a high-ranking religious leader for millions of Muslims,

05:17even outside of Iran, across the region, pointing to protests that had erupted in Iraq, Pakistan,

05:24and elsewhere where the leader had followers. In line with this, Al Jazeera News Media also reported

05:30some minutes ago that Iranian missiles have been seen over Tel Aviv and the occupied West Bank,

05:37reportedly breaking through Israel's defense system, with Iran saying it is targeting Israeli military

05:43facilities. In the six-minute nationwide video broadcast, President Donald Trump called on members

05:50of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards to surrender their weapons or face certain deaths, saying,

05:56the death of the three American soldiers killed in action will be avenged by taking more punishing

06:01actions against the enemies. President Donald Trump said there will likely be additional American

06:07deaths during the combat mission in Iran, which he said would continue until the US achieves its

06:12objectives. Combat operations continue at this time, in full force, and they will continue until

06:19all of our objectives are achieved. We have very strong objectives, he said in a video posted to

06:26Truth Social, without specifying in detail what those objectives were, according to CNN.

06:32President Trump said nine Iranian ships have been destroyed so far in the Operation Epic Fury.

06:38In an earlier social media post, Trump said, I have just been informed that we have destroyed and

06:45sunk nine Iranian naval ships, some of them relatively large and important. We are going

06:50after the rest. They will soon be floating at the bottom of the sea, also. President Trump also said

07:03President Donald Trump has ordered its citizens out of Lebanon with the non-emergency citizens specially warned

07:09to avoid traveling to southern Lebanon. Although the US embassy in Beirut never mentioned Israel and

07:16Hezbollah possible new war in the Middle East as the reason for its action, but there are strong

07:21indications that the America government took the decision because of the possible military conflicts

07:27in the region. According to the US government, it do not want America's citizens to travel to

09:33wars which occurred in 2006 and 2024, and yet, possible new war remains in a state of high tension

09:41characterized by a fragile ceasefire and ongoing military operations. In February 2026, the Middle East

09:49region is currently under a fragile ceasefire that began on November 27, 2024, yet both sides of Israel

09:56and Hezbollah in Lebanon frequently report violations. The 2024 war was triggered by the October 7, 2023

10:05Hamas attacks on Israel, which, Hezbollah began firing rockets into Israel on October 8, 2023. This escalated into a

10:14full-scale war in September 2024. The conflict, according to local authorities in Lebanon and Israel resulted

11:07Governor, Munde Okpabolo, has executed the destruction of numbers of houses or properties of

11:14apparent innocent landlords or people who may not have direct connection with the crime, it may be recalled

11:20that early 2025. The governor demolished a residential property on College Road simply because it was

11:27linked to a kidnapping gang operating in the Aduawa, Iyan, and Benin-Auchi Road bypass axis, even when the

11:34building belonged to a woman based in Italy. Just that, her brother, Osamede Asimota, the alleged key

11:41leader of the gang, allegedly used it to coordinate abductions. This is just one of many properties

11:47demolished by the Edo State government over kidnapping in the state, yet, records of kidnappings

11:53in the state continued to grow higher, and recent police and military arrests indicated that Edo State

11:59is perhaps under siege of foreign invaders who may have taken over larger part of the state forest to

12:06coordinate kidnappings in the state while working with some of the local residents to perpetuate the

12:11criminal act. It may be interesting to note that. Another set of non-indigenes of the state

12:17arrested by the police recently included two persons caught inside the specialist hospital

12:22in Auchi. The two suspects who are said to be non-indigenes of the state were among the gang

12:27of kidnappers behind the abduction of Dr. Abu Babatunde who regained his freedom after his family reportedly

12:34paid a sum of 50 million nairas ransom after the doctor and his younger brother were abducted on

12:41January 2nd, 2026, while opening the gate to their residence along City Pride Road, Igbira Camp, Auchi,

12:49and unfortunately, the younger brother was later found dead on January 5th near the Oli River along City Pride

12:56Road, with police suspecting he was killed by the abductors, and the alleged illegal settlers who confessed the

13:02Ugboha DPO as their facilitator, are said to be non-Nigerians from foreign countries. According to one of the

13:10vigilantes who caught the illegal settlers, the arrested illegal settlers in the forest will be

13:15taken to the station. The vigilante member also said the illegal settlers are not Nigerians, and close

13:22watchers said people are brought in and smuggled into Edo forests illegally and such people may be

13:27responsible for the act of kidnapping in the state. Available records indicated that the kidnapping

13:33situation in the state is currently happening almost daily with numbers of the state residents and

13:38indigenes also recorded dead or killed by kidnappers since Governor Munday Okpebolo came into power.

13:45On the recent arrest of two suspects at the specialist hospital in Auchi, the Edo State Command Public

13:51Relations Officer, Eno Ikiodom, the first breakthrough came on the 3rd of February 2026. Operatives of the

13:59Auchi Division Day after the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Munday Agbonica personally led troops of

14:05joint security operatives at the dead of the night to launch offensive attacks against kidnappers in

14:11the forest. The commander, 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ahmed Balagun also personally

14:18led troops of joint security operatives to the kidnappers' hideouts and launched massive military

14:23clearance and offensive actions against kidnappers. Both security operations led to the arrest of several

14:30suspected kidnappers allegedly caught in the act inside the bush, with the identities of the arrested

14:36suspects indicating that most of the kidnappers terrorizing Edo State are from the far northern

14:41part of Nigeria. An observation which appeared to have challenged the public policy statement made

14:48earlier in January 2026 by the Edo State Governor Munday Okpebolo who stated that many of those involved in the

14:56kidnapping surge in Edo State are indigenes of the area, saying, that may be the reason some kidnappers

15:02wears face masks. The governor made this statement as kidnapping in the state appeared to have become

15:07worse in 2026 and very rampant in a manner that indicated that an average of one to two persons are

15:14being kidnapped in a day in Edo State as more than 60 persons became new victims of the increasing

15:21criminal activities in the state since the beginning of 2026. Like, in January 2, 2026,

15:29two brothers, Dr. Abu Ibrahim Babatunde, a medical doctor on housemanship and Abu Tahir,

15:35a fresh graduate were kidnapped at the gate of their residence along City Pride Road.

15:39Higbira Camp in Auchi, the kidnappers initially demanded the 200 million nairah's ransom and tragically,

15:46on January 5th, one of the two brothers was found dead. On January 9, 2026, eight indigenes of a

15:54Moga community in the Akoko Edo local government area of the state were abducted from a hotel along

16:00Abilo Road. Since the start of 2026, Edo State has experienced a significant surge in kidnappings,

16:08leading to widespread protests at Ikpoma in the Edo Central Senatorial Zone with multiple police rescue

16:15operations including the incidents reported early February 2026, where police rescued nine victims

16:22including five children and a separate group of 14 victims. This is that, earlier on January 22nd,

16:302026, a farmer named Monday Adaro was kidnapped and later rescued and in late January, another farmer,

16:38Abraham Udwa, and his two wives, Brinda and Anna were abducted from a Goro Amende community but

16:44successfully rescued by security forces. In mid-January, Akay Favre and a former student union

16:51leader were kidnapped in Edo Central, troubled by the surge in kidnapping in the state. Residents and

16:57students of Ambrose Alley University, AAU staged a major protest on January 10, 2026, citing daily

17:07kidnappings, and the abduction of a university professor and numerous students. On February 2nd,

17:132026, a family of nine was ambushed at Ekoa Beku Ioa Road in Ovia Northeast local government area and the

17:21kidnappers demanded a 260 million nairas ransom for four children and two women still held after five

17:28others were rescued. In this write-up, a legal practitioner, Njoku Jude Njoku pinpoints some

17:35fundamentals in the judgment passed against Mazi Namdi Kanu, by Justice James Omatosho which convicted

17:41and sentenced the Biafra Republic agitation leader to life imprisonment, and in this press release the

17:48legal practitioner issued in late 2025 entitled, the 24th of November 2025, the day evidence ceased to

17:56matter in Nigerian courts, judicial silence, selective justice, and media complicity, described Justice

18:03Omatosho as unprofessional, stating that, the most dangerous aspect of the judgment delivered by Justice

18:09James K. Omatosho, is not merely that it reached a foreordained conclusion, but that it did so by

18:15deliberately suppressing evidence he already admitted on record in his own court, thereby converting

18:21adjudication into a procedural facade, this was not an error of law or an oversight of fact. It was a

18:28calculated refusal to engage with material evidence whose evaluation would have fatally undermined the

18:34prosecution's narrative, empasing that, this case is no longer about one man. It is about whether courts

18:41may openly disregard admitted evidence and still be treated as legitimate, and whether the media will

18:47continue to mask such conduct through silence, a judiciary that can ignore evidence without explanation has

18:53ceased to function as a court of law, a media that refuses to question that silence has abdicated its

18:59public duty, together, they place the rule of law itself in existential peril. Continuing, in details,

19:07Njoku said, once evidence is admitted, it binds the judge absolutely. The conduct, protest, silence,

19:15or alleged boycott of the defendant, Mazinamdi Kano, is legally irrelevant to that obligation.

19:21Judgment writing is not a negotiation with the accused. It is a solitary judicial duty anchored

19:27exclusively to the evidentiary record. A judge may reject defense evidence, but he must first confront

19:34it, evaluate it, and explain why it is rejected. Silence is not neutrality, silence is suppression.

19:42Had Justice Omatosho evaluated the admitted video exhibit of Theophilus, T.Y., Danjuma, he would have

19:49been confronted with the inescapable reality that public calls for communities to arm themselves

19:54in self-defense against murderous violence were not unique to Namdi Kano, nor criminalized when made

20:00by powerful establishment figures. Proper evaluation would have compelled the court to accept that Kano's

20:07calls for guns and bullets in Los Angeles, USA or during broadcasts were framed as community self-defense

20:13against the ravages of armed Fulani killer herders, not incitement to lawless violence.

20:19Had Justice Omatosho evaluated the admitted video evidence of Governor Hope Uzudinma,

20:25he would have known, because Uzudinma stated it publicly, that neither Namdi Kano nor the IPOB had

20:31any hand in the killing of Ahmed Gulag. That single evaluation would have punctured one of the most

20:38politically weaponized allegations surrounding this case. Had Justice Omatosho listened to his

20:44fellow Yoruba kinsmen and Nigeria's intelligence chief, Adeola Oluwato Senajai, whose statements were

20:50also admitted in evidence, he would have been forced to acknowledge that the formation of armed vigilante

20:56groups for community defense was openly endorsed at the highest levels.
