00:00It's a tough one to take, just the better team, and it was hard for us, so no qualms or
00:07no excuses,
00:09I thought their level was excellent and I thought they deserved to win.
00:13We tried, we tried to stay in it as long as possible at half-time, we were relatively happy,
00:17even though I felt like they were, clearly they were going to have a lot of the ball,
00:21we had to defend a lot of set pieces, but we were limiting them to maybe long-range shots
00:25and not too many efforts.
00:27The most frustrating thing for me tonight was the timing of the second goal,
00:30how we dealt with the kick-off and how we dealt with that, that was the killer.
00:34Because even at 1-0 we're still in the game and anything can happen, like we saw right at the
00:38end,
00:38we still get a goal, at that moment obviously the game was done, but we needed to remain in it
00:43longer.
00:45And yeah, that second one was really frustrating, that's the thing I'm most disappointed about tonight.
00:52Is it a harder one to accept at all because you beat them on Tuesdays?
00:57No, I don't think so.
00:58I think you have a doubleheader against Liverpool, anyone, any team in Europe, and it's sad.
01:04So even for us to win one of those games, we have to be seeing that as a big, big
01:11positive.
01:11We tried tonight, we tried tonight, but I thought their level went up.
01:15I don't think really we dropped, but they made it very, very difficult.
01:19Before you came in, we just talked about the similarities in the post-class half of Tuesdays and Tuesdays.
01:26Did it feel like there were similarities for you?
01:28It did, but it did feel like, I felt like they were better.
01:31I thought their counter-pressing was better, I thought their intensity was better, I thought they won the ball back
01:34quicker.
01:36There was moments on Tuesday where we got through them with the ball.
01:40We didn't quite then, we weren't quite able to penetrate their last line, but we got through them a few
01:44times and we thought,
01:46and that's what we planned to try and change some of our position,
01:49but we thought we might be able to do that again if they press in the same way.
01:51I thought their intensity tonight was, I felt it was better, I felt like it was really hard for us
01:56to be able to get through them around or behind them tonight.
02:08It's nice that he got an impact, obviously he's had a period of time out.
02:13I suppose that we got the last goal in the game as well anyway, never mind whoever it was.
02:17I think that's important to show that we're still fighting and still trying in the game, so we certainly did
02:22that.
02:22But yeah, pleased for Chani.
02:24It's been tough for us, I suppose, any of us to find a way to score goals this season,
02:29but forwards always want to be on the score sheet, so good moment for him.
02:37Hi Rob, you touched on it there, I think first off, fairly organised and disciplined defensively,
02:42but it was about breaking through the runs, wasn't it?
02:44Was that when you found the difficulty to cause them problems?
02:47Yeah, I think it was really tough.
02:50When we won it back, probably a few people took too many touches and it allowed them to just go
02:54and nail us.
02:56And sometimes it wasn't our fault, it was just brilliant counter-pressing from them as well,
02:59it was almost like they were swarming us and their intensity, I felt, was very, very good.
03:06So a few turnovers where we could have been better,
03:09and then a lot where I thought, you know, that's the level.
03:12What they showed there is the level and a really elite level.
03:15You've got a sort of incredibly congestive,
03:18some fictionist to be perfectly into early March as well.
03:21Maybe it's the way that Liverpool play tonight,
03:22but is there any sort of words to suggest that you've all looked a little bit sort of leggy,
03:26a little bit tight?
03:27Maybe, I'll have to look back at it as well.
03:29I don't think it was a lack of effort or we were looking leggy.
03:32I think we missed Andre in midfield, I think he was a big miss for us,
03:35I think he's been brilliant, and he was really good on Tuesday night.
03:37So I think we missed that, but the energy I felt was there,
03:45the effort was there, we were pushing still at the end,
03:47and you could see that as well, that we're still pushing and pressing.
03:50But they, Liverpool, are elite athletes,
03:53and they're able to bring one or two fresh bodies in like we did.
03:58But, yeah, I just thought their overall performance,
04:01they took it up a notch,
04:02and it was probably one that we just couldn't quite live with tonight.
04:04Just wondering, you've spoken a lot about motivation for the players going forward.
04:09Obviously, the covenants a lot to yourself, to Wolves fans.
04:13What exactly do those players and yourself have to fight for?
04:17We've now got eight games, so we know how many games we've got left.
04:20The next game against Brentford, that has to be our cup final.
04:23That's it.
04:25Everyone gets a few days now, because you're right,
04:26it has been a really intense period, and an all-focus aspect.
04:30We know how difficult Brentford away are.
04:32They've been brilliant this season.
04:34But, yeah, we've got to go and find a way to win that game.
04:39You mentioned Andre Rock, Robert.
04:41How much did he mean that also affect you?
04:43Because he had to play a role that maybe you don't quite get the best.
04:47Maybe, yeah.
04:47I mean, he obviously played there at Old Trafford when Andre didn't play,
04:50and I think maybe he started a game at West Ham in that position as well,
04:54when we won here, against West Ham when we won here.
04:57So, he's done it a couple of times, but, yeah,
04:59he's probably not as suited to that as Andre.
05:01So, look, that's not an excuse, but I do think he's been a really good performer
05:06for us, Andre, so we're always going to miss him a little bit.
05:11Cheers, guys.
