00:16Just how far did they play to get in that position?
00:19Yeah, they were huge. I thought in the early parts of the game, we showed some really good moments with
00:25the ball.
00:26We got through them a few times and Liverpool started to get more control as the half war on.
00:30We weren't able to get as much of the ball as we would have liked.
00:34That's Liverpool's quality, but there's areas there for us to try and work on and improve in.
00:40But then 0-0 at half-time, which is where we wanted it to be.
00:43We'd love to have been winning, but we wanted it to be in the game because we felt then that
00:46we could improve, we could grow into it.
00:48We have been generally in the second halves anyway. It's the way our games have been going.
00:53The more pressure on the opposition, they start to open up and it leaves a few more spaces.
00:56So, yeah, it's how it went.
00:59Just looking at the last couple of games in particular, but also beyond that as well,
01:02to what extent are all proving now that they're a team that can really follow through with a game plan?
01:07They look really compact, really organised and I suppose confidence will look back as well.
01:10Yeah, it is that. It's a work rate thing as well.
01:14I think it's taken a while and results obviously people will notice more, but it's taken a while to realise
01:20how hard you've got to work to get anything from a game of football, especially at this level.
01:25So, there's just a stark difference now between when we came in to now, the level of fight and work
01:32that the lads are showing.
01:34We've obviously got a really small squad at the moment now and everyone's together, everyone's in it together.
01:38Everyone feels like they're not too far away.
01:41I know we've got a couple of younger ones, I haven't had as many minutes as they would have liked,
01:44but I think everyone's involved, especially with everyone fit at the moment as well.
01:48It's great.
01:49So, we've got a tight group that are fighting for each other, working hard and showing that we're not maybe
01:58as bad as people would have thought.
02:00Just last week, to what degree do the last couple of results show that, I suppose, how towards what you're
02:08trying to do long term?
02:10Yeah, look, we're not, it's difficult, especially with the teams we're going up against, it's not playing the way I
02:15want to be able to play.
02:17We're showing characteristics of what I want my teams to be able to have, but obviously we're having to find
02:23a way at the moment, which is understandable.
02:25I think everyone would appreciate that.
02:26We know Liverpool are ahead of us, we know Villa are ahead of us as well, but the characteristics that
02:32the team are showing, yeah, that's where I want it to be.
02:37You made four changes tonight, Robert.
02:39How was that after half of the minute there and how was it looking forward to Friday?
02:43A bit of both, a bit of both.
02:45Yes, we had a plan, but like I said to you yesterday, until you get hit in the face, then
02:52you might have to change things.
02:54The timing of the substitutions in the second half, that wasn't a plan.
02:59I had an idea of who I might want to try and get on the pitch, but then it was
03:02about just finding a way to win the game.
03:04It's hard in the heat of the moment then to try and stick to a, right, let's give him 30
03:08minutes and him whatever.
03:10So then it was just about winning, but the impact from the subs were great and the lads that started
03:15the game were really, really good as well.
03:16Obviously, as you said yesterday, a lot of the fans were prioritised for Friday.
03:20How much can this result have made there?
03:24We've probably made them quite angry now as well, so we'll have to, yeah, we'll see.
03:28But look, we had to just go one at a time.
03:31And I did say to you, didn't I, before Villa as well, we want to try and win every game.
03:35We know how hard it is to do that, see how good Liverpool are tonight.
03:39And I know we had to ride our luck at times and everything as well.
03:42So, look, things went for us tonight.
03:45But what we'll do is recover, try and pick a team that will win a cup game.
03:49A really exciting night for us on Friday night.

04:23You spoke about Andre there, Rob, but just a word on Rodrigo Gomez, two goals and two games.
04:27What does that say about the individual portage your players have put in?
04:30Yeah, great impact from Rodrigo.
04:33Obviously, I've spoken really glowingly about him on a number of occasions.
04:36He's a brilliant guy.
04:39So really pleased for him.
04:40His goal was fantastic.
04:41I've seen it back and doing some of the press there before the finish, the timing of it, and having
04:45to go with his right foot.
04:46Probably if he takes one more step, he probably doesn't get the shot off.
04:48So brilliant goal.
04:50He's got that threat for us.
04:51Just felt at that time then, he was the right man at that time.
04:55Spaces were just starting to open up.
04:57If he could play around Tolu, you know, with Liverpool pushing and both fullbacks on as well, spaces would open
05:02up.
05:02So he was the perfect sub for us, the perfect man for us at that moment and took his chance
05:08really, really well.

05:48Is it something you can plan for?
05:50Or is it just something that just happens in the moment?
05:52No, we plan for the game opening up a bit more in the second half and us being able to
05:55grow into it.
05:56We felt that would be the case, which I think happened.
05:59But that's not something that we'll go into sort of too much.
06:02We'll be aware of it, but it's not something we'll talk to the players too much about.
06:05But we did, yesterday and today, talk a lot about us being able to grow into the game and improve
06:10and become more of a threat in the second half.
