00:22democratically elected government. The move signals a thaw in relations following months
00:27of heightened tensions. In January, U.S. forces captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro,
00:33triggering a political transition in the country. Vice President Delcey Rodriguez was later sworn in
00:39as interim leader and has since signaled interest in rebuilding ties with Washington.
00:44Diplomatic ties between the two countries were severed in 2019,
00:49when the U.S. withdrew its diplomats and suspended operations at its embassy in Caracas.
