00:00Right. And in terms of where Hezbollah is today compared to where it was in 2024, I mean, there are
00:08people in Israel and elsewhere who've accused Hezbollah of rearming in the interim.
00:14And yet the Lebanese government has been trying to disarm Hezbollah in parts of the country.
00:18I mean, where is it today? Is it stronger or markedly weaker than it was in 2024?
00:23Well, Hezbollah is definitely weaker. This doesn't mean that it cannot regain its strength if it's given enough time.
00:30However, we are not only looking at destroying Hezbollah as a military entity, but also destroying Hezbollah as an idea.
00:37Because what recently happened by firing these six missiles that started the war is basically it demolished the whole narrative
00:45that Hezbollah is there to protect Lebanon.
00:47As we were watching what was happening all across the Gulf, how Iran was going after the Gulf states, we
00:55saw that Hezbollah, for no reason whatsoever, decided to join the war.
00:59And this is basically a message to everyone that we can head towards what we call a doomsday scenario.
01:05We can activate all of our proxies.
01:07Within Lebanon, Hezbollah is much, much weaker.
01:11However, unfortunately, Tom, the sectarian system itself allows Hezbollah to claim that because it has a simple majority within the
01:21Shiite community, it can actually lead the community into more and more destruction.
01:27I think we have to step back and reevaluate what led us to give Hezbollah its normalized position.
01:34And once we understand this, we can start to dismantle the whole narrative in addition to its military infrastructure.
01:41Before we come out, Hezbollah.
