00:04Welcome once again to Transport Fever 3 First Look.
00:07In the previous video we gave you an overview of how infrastructure choices give you the ability to control your
00:13transport network better than ever.
00:15In this video we're going to talk about how those choices will affect the growth of your world to get
00:19the most out of the new Tycoon game.
00:22Players have the ability to tailor the game mechanics to create their perfect level of challenge.
00:26A full control panel has been added to adjust mechanics ranging from industry productivity or vehicle maintenance to economy and
00:33the era in which it takes place.
00:35We have also added a sophisticated new loan system to the game, giving you multiple choices with different repayment conditions
00:42when your empire is in need of a cash injection.
00:45First things first, let's get our headquarters built.
00:48Not only will this building create a splendid scenic feature for any region, it also provides a significant benefit to
00:55the local town.
00:55More on that in a moment.
00:58Every citizen in a town has their own life to lead.
01:02They live in residential properties, go to work in industrial zones and shop in commercial districts.
01:08If you don't provide the transport options they need to fulfil their movement needs, they'll either try to use a
01:13closer target building or use a car to travel.
01:16Your town's growth is fuelled in the same way it has always been, through the supply of people and cargo,
01:22but the way in which your towns grow is now quite different.
01:26Every delivered person or item of cargo adds to the town's experience points.
01:31Once a town reaches its expansion target, it will hit the next growth level, ranging from small hamlet to large
01:37metropolis.
01:37Sounds easy, right?
01:39The problem is that as a town's requirements increase, so do the chances that problems will start to occur.
01:45Problems which, if left unchecked, will slow growth down to a crawl.
01:50A town has several different ratings where it measures your performance.
01:55One such area is the town's citizens' happiness.
01:58Keep your passengers waiting for too long and the grumbles will be very clear.
02:02Building faster routes, expanding capacity or simply more comfortable services may go some way to mitigate these problems.
02:10The same story is true when it comes to cargo deliveries.
02:13Overdue deliveries not only pay less, but they'll drag growth down with them.
02:17Fail to supply industrial goods and you'll have a much larger commercial and residential population.
02:23Maybe you'll use this to your advantage and create centres of commerce or industrial powerhouses.
02:28As your towns grow, so will the problems.
02:30A larger population leads to a blight of traffic build-up.
02:34For every step forward you make in town size, you'll want to look back at the network you're
02:38currently offering to look for optimisation and expansion opportunities.
02:42But beware, every expansion to fix one rating must be balanced carefully, as its side effects
02:48may push down other ratings.
02:49Noise emissions, for example.
02:54Of course, towns only really care about noise in residential areas.
02:58So perhaps the solution is to install your commuter black hole of a station within your industrial district.
03:05Vehicles and infrastructure also create pollution.
03:08Another town rating you'll be needing to watch closely.
03:11Instead of the focus being purely on the suburban area itself, the entire region surrounding a town is affected by
03:17pollution.
03:19The town's municipality extends beyond the built-up area into the countryside.
03:23Building your impressive cargo transfer hub outside city limits might not create a noise problem,
03:29but it will still add pollution that will be noticed by the local population.
03:32You might think that that forest on the very edge of the city's municipal area is fair game for a
03:38new airport construction,
03:39but they'll notice. They always notice.
03:41The good news is that positive influences also apply on a region-wide basis.
03:46That headquarters that we placed at the beginning of the video, that's giving a small growth perk to the municipality,
03:52and you can expand its benefits with side buildings and facilities that will be earned when you move up the
03:58ranks as a company owner.
04:00The same is true of unique landmark buildings that you will unlock, which, when completed, will bring clear benefits to
04:06the municipality they reside in.
04:09Infrastructure in Transport Fever 3 can be very expensive to build and maintain, so you'll need to spend your money
04:15wisely.
04:16Even when you've mastered the economy, however, you will rarely create a route that can be described as fire and
04:21forget.
04:21Instead, you'll want to revisit older lines frequently, especially when they're in a growing town,
04:27and balance them delicately to optimize all the town ratings together.
04:31Whether your focus is on one small town or the entire game world,
04:35you set the rules so that the game challenges you in a way you'll thoroughly enjoy on your way to
04:41becoming a true Transport Tycoon.
04:44Thank you very much for watching. We hope to see you again soon.
