00:00One of the many front lines in a regional war.
00:03This semi-autonomous Kurdish area of northern Iraq was hit again Wednesday night and early
00:10Thursday morning, like here in the suburb of the regional capital, Erbil.
00:16All indications suggest it was a missile.
00:19Whether it exploded before hitting the ground or not, the surrounding houses were damaged,
00:23including ours.
00:24The windows and glass were shattered, the sound was deafening.
00:29The region hosts both a U.S. consulate and bases that house U.S. troops, both subject
00:35to multiple attacks by Iran's drones and missiles.

00:53Recently, U.S. media has reported the CIA is working on arming them.
00:58Contacts have been made between the groups and the U.S. government.
01:02phone calls between Trump and the chairman of the Democratic Party have taken place.
01:07These are not just rumors.
01:21But the U.S. says they spoke about the base and no agreements about Iran have been made.
01:27Often called one of the largest people without a state, roughly 30 million Kurds make sizable
01:34minorities in Iran, Iraq, Syria and Turkey.
01:37Further complicating the situation and any attempt by America to give them weapons, NATO member
01:43Turkey has a long history of fighting its own Kurdish insurgents and Syria's Kurdish faction.
01:50Ankhir is unlikely to want Kurdish groups near its border receiving arms.
01:55Of course, the U.S.
