00:54в этом году,
00:56Легз, давайте start with OKC.
00:57Listen, all that matters for them
00:59is another long playoff run,
01:00but they've had a great regular season
01:02despite all the injuries.
01:03So over the last 19 games,
01:05what's their goal?
01:07Continuity with their full arsenal.
01:08This team has been hit
01:09with as many injuries
01:10as anybody in the league.
01:12It's hard to believe,
01:12but that's how deep they are.
01:14But now you're starting
01:15to get some guys back,
01:16and it starts with Shea Gilchrist Alexander.
01:18A couple games back
01:19already under his belt,
01:20and you see what he means.
01:21He is the motor for this offense.

23:18There's nothing more you could do on the part of the Knicks on that possession and Jalen Brunson gave Shea
23:24Gilgis-Alexander so much time to see him and still was not able to stop. That's frustrating. I'm not sure
23:31if you can tell at home but the crowd's a little angry. That's Brandon Adair along with Ray Acosta and
23:40Brian Forte are officials tonight. Well you're talking about a huge difference there, right? Shea Gilgis-Alexander picks up his
23:47third but we're still in the
23:48first quarter. He might sit for the rest of the first half. What a difference that makes to their offense
23:53and how they initiate. And an OB poked it away. McCain got it back.
24:01Isaiah Joe well behind the arm. Can't get it to fall. And Huckporty gets the rebound. Throw it away. Caruso
24:07with a steal. The O.R. trying to get it. McCain's left wide open. Can't get that to fall. Caruso
24:12battling comes out with another offensive board.
24:20SGA gets into the paint. Huckporty right with him. Goes up and under. Beautiful footwork. We've got two of the
24:26best in the game in footwork tonight.
24:27No doubt. So tempting to want to go for those when he comes in at jump stop and leans back.
24:32You think he's going to shoot the fadeaway. Very difficult for a big to have the discipline to stay down
24:37on the ground.
24:38Both teams have now turned it over five times. Yeah, this is tough. I mean, he's in great position. You
24:43show the basketball to a big when you're that deep into the lane.
24:47I don't know too many that aren't going to bite on that. Shane knew it. Kept his balance. He got
24:52an easy layoff.
24:52Kalen Williams. And a foul is going to be called. I believe against Caruso away from the ball.
25:01First foul in the last two minutes. 42.7. Left here on the first. I don't know when's the last
25:08time I saw a guy cram more into three minutes without scoring than Alex Caruso.
25:12If this were a crime scene, he'd be questioned. His fingerprints are all over the place and he hasn't even
25:17taken a shot yet.
25:18By the way, that's the first technical foul this season for Mike Brown.
25:23The Knicks head coach. Brunson gets in the paint. Shot is good. First points for Brunson.
25:30Thunder lead comes to five.
25:33Gilgis Alexander gets in. Knicks around him. Leaving Jalen Williams open. And he can't hit.
25:38The Owara, this time, holds on to the rebound.
25:43OKC, 14 of their 21 shots have come from three-point range.
25:50Brunson. Brunson, I've said he thought he got hit.
25:52Kicks it back out. And an OB. Corner three.
25:55Got it.
26:00Caruso launches it. And that will end the first quarter.
26:05There's some angry Knicks with some fun calls they feel should have been made.
26:09But after trailing by 10, they come back.
26:12Oh, great job right here on the offensive glass.
26:15Jalen Brunson staying with it.
26:17OG and Adobe cashing in.
26:22It's time for tonight's access. Brought to you by Samsung Galaxy.
26:26We're here with Chet Holmgren of the Thunder. 14 points for you in that first quarter.
26:29What was working for you?
26:31Just finding open spots.
26:33You know, we did a good job of getting on transition, getting downhill,
26:36and then spraying the ball out when they helped.
26:38And, you know, I was able to knock them down.
26:39She picked up two early fouls.
26:41He's back, obviously, now at this moment.
26:43But with his absence, how much confidence did that give you guys as a group
26:46that you can withstand moments like that?
26:49Yeah, it's great.
26:50Understanding that, you know, Shea's a great player,
26:52and you always want him on the floor.
26:53But, you know, nobody's playing 48 minutes every single game.
26:56So, you know, we still got to be able to put together, you know, good possessions.
27:00You know, when he comes out for a break or comes out with foul trouble.
27:02And I feel like we did a solid job of that, and we got to keep it going.
27:05Chet, good luck. Thank you.
27:06Thank you.
27:06Mike.
27:07All right, George.
27:09Mo Diarra knocks down another three.
27:12He's three for three, the rookie.
27:15Holmgren and SGA had 23 of their 25 points.
27:19Well defended that time from Diarra.
27:22Alvarado, Jose Alvarado, obtained at the trade deadline from New Orleans.
27:26It's been a huge pickup in New York City native.
27:30Towns wants the ball.
27:31Caruso's on him.
27:32Caruso's a good defender on Big Mac.
27:35And Anobi misses the three.
27:37Yeah, I don't blame Carl Anthony Townsend for wanting the ball in that matchup in the middle of the floor,
27:40but doing something with that off the drive against Caruso wouldn't have been easy.
27:45Holmgren comes in and throws down the follow.
27:48Nick converged on SGA.
27:54One of the keys for the Knicks this season has been their bench.
27:57A much better bench.
27:58Alvarado, a part of that for Shammott, Mitchell Robinson, and Diwana.
28:03Wiggins almost stole that.
28:05Stavarra misses.
28:06Ball batted around a couple of times.
28:08Caruso runs it down.
28:13He'll lose Alexander four of six in that first quarter, but he picked up two fouls and threw it away,
28:19but they call a foul on the pass.
28:21And Mike Brown is as upset as I've seen him.
28:25He normally doesn't get angry on the sidelines with officials.
28:31I got Jalen Brunson off the bench, too.
28:35Getting his rested.
28:37He's not liking this.
28:39Well, Ananobi did hit him on the arm, no question there.
28:42That's a first foul on Ananobi.
28:43He definitely affected his ability to finish that pass off.
28:46He wanted to kick that out to the corner, but his arm didn't get the freedom of movement he needed.
28:51And Caruso knocks down the three.
28:55Five of 15 for three.
28:57Five of 15 for three.
28:58By the Thunder.
29:02Bridges, guarded by Wiggins.
29:03Wiggins another one of those just terrific role players who've had a lot of responsibility
29:07for some of the injuries.
29:10And Ananobi goes at Wiggins.
29:13Bridges back out.
29:15And Ananobi shot clock winding down.
29:17Just gets it off the shot.
29:18Can't get it before.
29:19Towns right there on the foul.
29:21And that's the one thing you're going to give up.
29:23If you're going to play Caruso on Towns,
29:25shows his versatility,
29:26but that's where he's going to be susceptible on the offensive glass
29:29once Towns walks it down there on the shot.
29:33Towns, one of the best three batters in the game.
29:36Jaylen Williams got hit in the head.
29:37And Alvarado picks up his first.
29:40And Carl Anthony Towns was frustrated.
29:42He didn't get the ball either time in these two possessions
29:44in a post-op or a middle-of-the-floor type of ISO.
29:48But he went and got it himself.
29:50And it's those kind of plays that Mike Brown often talks about.
29:52Go and find a way to manufacture it for yourself
29:56without having your number called.
29:57He did it right there.
30:00Jam step.
30:01Jump shot.
30:02And now Diarra with the rebound.
30:05He's got nine points, three boards.
30:08He's nine minutes off the bench.
30:15Alvarado, a quick release on that three.
30:18Wiggins looks to push.
30:19And I don't like that shot because Towns had Shea on him in the post.
30:23That should have been a direct entry to Carl Anthony Towns on the block.
30:27Especially with Fildes Alexander with the two fouls.
30:30Kicks it out Jaylen Williams.
30:33That's a wide open three.
30:34Nails that one.
30:36Williams has had some great games during this stretch
30:39where the other Jaylen Williams has been out.
30:46Diarra is going to try again.
30:48This is that three-pointer.
30:53Malmurano, a pesky defender.
30:57Holmgren.
30:59Wiggins.
31:01Posted to the lane.
31:02And the finish.
31:03Terrific play from Aaron Wiggins.
31:05And a Mike Brown upset.
31:07Calls timeout.
31:08Beautiful move.
31:09And the Thunder back up by seven.
31:13That's great ball movement by OKC.
31:15And a determined finish.
31:17Sometimes you know you can't go in there with the finger roll.
31:20You've got to take it with power.
31:27Friday doubleheader.
31:28Celtics host the Mavericks at 7 Eastern.
31:30Then the Clippers at San Antonio taking on the Spurs.
31:32They'll all start with Ernie, Kenny, Charles, and Jack
31:35coming off the coverage at 6.
31:37They'll also be after the Clippers and the Spurs.
31:40Obviously, the Thunder and the Spurs battling for the top spot in the West.
31:44The Knicks and the Celtics battling for that second spot
31:47along with Cleveland as well.
31:48When do you start scoreboard watching?
31:52Now, I think you're paying attention.
31:54You might not be necessarily a moment,
31:56but you know for a fact you're starting to
31:58because the seeding and the home court advantage
32:00with some of these matchups could be the difference
32:02with how tight prepared some of these teams are,
32:04particularly, I think, in the East.
32:07Towns against Jaylen Williams.
32:10Fake drives inside.
32:11Good drive and finish.
32:13Karl-Anthony Towns muscling up a bucket.
32:15It's one of the few opportunities he's had on the perimeter
32:18against a guy his size.
32:19A bigger player, and he was able to beat him
32:22at that first step, which he is so good at.
32:25Bridges trying to harass Wiggins.
32:27Park back in the game on SGA.
32:30Douglas Alexander finds the elbow.
32:32Nice feet inside Wiggins.
32:34Bridges got a hand on it.
32:35And a late whistle and a foul.
32:41Bridges not arguing, though.
32:44And that was an example.
32:46Bridges was in great position
32:48to take this pass away from Wiggins.
32:50Look at him staring at Shane.
32:52And he doesn't know Wiggins stayed right there.
32:55Not a lot of contact on that layup at all.
32:58But you're right.
32:58He didn't really argue as vociferously
33:01as I would have expected if he knew
33:03that that was completely clean.
33:05It looked a little bit like Wiggins kicked his feet back.
33:08But Bridges did not argue.
33:09And we're so used to every call of player
33:12swinging that index finger.
33:14Challenge, challenge.
33:16Bridges didn't say a word.
33:18And that's his first foul.
33:22Downs the rebound.
33:24And the second in the NBA rebound.
33:26He is, he's not a good, he's a great rebound.
33:28He gave him credit because we know
33:30there's been some frustrations offensively for him.
33:33He has not stopped his effort on the boards
33:35despite that.
33:37Amarato misses the three-point attempt.
33:39Since one-bunner lead,
33:41played almost five minutes here in the second.
33:43Final game of a three-game road trip.
33:45Road KC.
33:46They've beaten Dallas and Chicago so far.
33:49They've got Alexander to pull up.
33:51And there you go.
33:53And Bridges grabs the rebound.
33:57Luke Dorton back in the game.
34:00Towns drives, gets inside.
34:02And foul.
34:06That's an example of the shooting ability of Carl Anthony Townsend.
34:10He's just got a bucket to go.
34:12You know that he's looking to run into that trail three.
34:15And you can't close out any more aggressively
34:17than Lou Dorton on this one.
34:19He puts two hands on him initially and then a reach against.
34:22He really got fouled twice on that play.
34:23But that's a testament to the threat that he represents
34:26as your trail three-point shooter.
34:29You know, you talked about the Knicks being so much better defensively.
34:33A big reason is Carl Anthony Towns is so much more engaged defensively.
34:37He's engaged.
34:38What I'm seeing out of him is,
34:39I saw confusion earlier in the year with some of the rotations
34:43and where they wanted him to be.
34:44And he almost seems like it's starting to become clearer,
34:47not just to him, but to their entire team defensively,
34:50so that when you watch them on film,
34:52everything they're doing with their rotations is happening earlier
34:56and more on point.
34:57Fewer communication mistakes.
34:59They switched their scheme.
35:02Mike Brown said they were going course in the ball middle earlier in the year,
35:06and now it's baseline.
35:07Now, I'm a huge believer in setting the ball baseline at all costs.
35:11Defensively, I just think your rotations are more specific
35:14when you force the ball baseline and there's fewer passing lanes.
35:18Williams kicks it out.
35:19Dirt.
35:19Dort left wide open, and Dort gets the three-pointer.
35:24Dort's first shot.
35:26Back up by April KC.
35:31Thunder have found the range after struggling early from three-point range.
35:34There's seven of 17 now.
35:38Shaman.
35:39Offensive foul on Alvarado.
35:43Both teams with six turnovers,
35:46and Anobi and Brunson are going to come back in.
35:53The crowd is not happy with the whistles tonight.
36:03Well, Alvarado picking up picks with a very small line.
36:07Josh Hart is basically the five right now.
36:11Yeah, we were wondering what Mike Brown was going to do,
36:13if Mitchell Robinson not available tonight,
36:15gave Huck 40 the early minutes,
36:17but now he's going to play this smaller lineup
36:19as Luke Dort strings together a pair of threes.
36:21And that gives the Thunder their largest lead here in the first half,
36:24up by 11 as we reach the midway point of the second.
36:27Dort gets it going, and Martin's shot won't go.
36:32And Hart is hurt.
36:33He's holding his back, went down hard.
36:35Now gets up.
36:39Wincing and grimacing.
36:41Go to Salexander.
36:43Baseline gets it a fall.
36:46Well, that's just great offense.
36:48I mean, you cannot contest that any better
36:51on that particular shot,
36:53but if he gets any separation from that area to floor with that right hand,
36:57feels like it's automatic.
37:00Alvarado.
37:01Seven on the 24.
37:03Dort on Brunson.
37:05Deny.
37:05Brunson now drives on Dort.
37:07All-NBA first-team defense.
37:09Oh, what?
37:09With the needle, and Hart backs at home.
37:12I think Wiggins thought that was going to be a direct pass.
37:15I think the bounce pass made him mistimed that.
37:18A ball went right under his arm.
37:19I really don't know from this angle how he got that through there.
37:22You saw Hart still bothered by that fall.
37:25Jayla Williams is the runner.
37:26Can't get it the fall.
37:27Martin the rebound.
37:31Looks to push.
37:32Finds Brunson.
37:34Brunson got it by Jayla Williams.
37:36Back up top to Hart.
37:37And Anoge.
37:38Passes up the look.
37:39Now drives.
37:40Bucked away by Gildas Alexander.
37:42Here's Isaiah Joe.
37:44Throws it back for SGA.
37:46Gets into the paint.
37:47Dorton and Wiggins play catch.
37:49Wiggins lines it up.
37:50Hart grabs another.
37:52Quick outlet Alvarado.
37:53One man to beat.
37:54It's Williams.
37:55Gets inside.
37:56And foul.
37:57Alvarado got hit in the head.
38:02And two free throws for Jose Alvarado.
38:07Some chatter after.
38:09Much ado about nothing.
38:16So Williams picks up his first.
38:18And Alvarado.
38:21With his first free throws.
38:23Alvarado.
38:23This is his 11th game.
38:25Since being acquired from the
38:26Pelicans team seven and three.
38:28He has been a spark.
38:29About 20 minutes a game.
38:31This is the free throw.
38:32So.
38:34He was born in Brooklyn.
38:36Went to high school.
38:37Christ the King in Queens.
38:38And now plays for the Knicks in
38:39Manhattan.
38:40He's occupying a lot of boroughs.
38:45And he's just such a spark off the bench.
38:48Pushes the pace.
38:49An absolute pest defensively.
38:51Has had two games already in the first 10.
38:53Where he's had five steals.
38:55And he's really earned a reputation defensively with it.
38:57Not only his ability to pressure the ball and turn.
38:59Guards coming up the floor.
39:00But he's always sort of hanging around the backcourt.
39:02Comes up with those steals.
39:04That really demoralize the team.
39:06But offensively.
39:08I think Mike Brown's been really happy with his ability to get into the lane.
39:12And put two feet in there.
39:14And force a reaction.
39:15And that really causes a chain reaction.
39:17And leads to great ball movement.
39:21Let's check in with George.
39:23Mike Legs.
39:23I spoke to Jose Alvarado about coming to the Knicks.
39:26And he said his whole family was ecstatic.
39:29Clearly they're all Knicks fans having grown up here.
39:32And the one thing he told me though.
39:34When he got traded.
39:35Okay.
39:35He said.
39:36He looked at his phone.
39:37He had never seen that number.
39:39In regards to how high a number it was.
39:41Of missed calls.
39:42And texts.
39:42And the combination thereof.
39:44I asked him.
39:44Have you still gone through everything?
39:45He's like.
39:46I don't think I can get through all of them right now.
39:48Mike.
39:49Amazing.
39:50The emotion that he had.
39:52George.
39:52The first game.
39:54First game he played as the Knicks was on the road.
39:56But then the second game here.
39:57He admitted he was so nervous.
39:59The emotions got a loop.
40:00Not the best of him.
40:01Because he's going to go back to the locker room.
40:03No trainer following him.
40:05So perhaps a bathroom break.
40:10Ten point Thunder lead as we approach four minutes remaining here in the second.
40:14Jalen Brunson just two points.
40:16He has five assists.
40:21Bridges off the bounce.
40:22Kicks it out.
40:23Brunson extra pass out on Ovi.
40:24Harnstein gets out to him.
40:26And Ovi can't hit it.
40:28And the ball battled around.
40:29Picked up by Isaiah Joe.
40:35Harnstein.
40:35He tried to thread the needle.
40:37Hit one of the legs of the Knicks.
40:41Apparently the chance that gets off the Thunder.
40:45There's a lot of motion on the court.
40:47A lot of emotion in the stance tonight.
40:48Legs.
40:49I wish I could say I knew what happened on that.
40:51Would it look like, you know, a pinball machine in there.
40:54It looks like a ricochet off a couple different people.
40:56Never really got a look at that.
40:58And Isaiah Joe stepped out of bounds.
41:00Good defense from Harn.
41:01Perhaps forcing that turnover.
41:03Here's the bounce pass.
41:04Clearly.
41:05Yeah, it looks like Ananobi is the only one that touched that.
41:10Thunder had six turnovers in the first quarter.
41:13That's their first here in the second.
41:16Both teams with seven overall.
41:18Both teams are two of the better teams in not turning the ball over.
41:23Brunson and Ananobi against Holmgren.
41:29Downs getting in the way.
41:30Backs up top to Brunson.
41:32Shot clock winding down.
41:33Just gets it off in time.
41:34Fires up a three.
41:35Does hit the rim.
41:40A very low scoring first half for one of the better offensive teams in the NBA.
41:46Knicks number three in offensive rating.
41:48Isaiah Joe, the floaters out.
41:50Shot.
41:50That's no good.
41:51Rebound deflected.
41:52Take him by Brunson.
41:54Knicks have a three on two.
41:55Close to the Bridges.
41:56Bridges turn.
41:57Shoots.
41:58Can't get it to fall.
41:59And Holmgren coming away with a rebound.
42:01Terrific hustle and rebound from Chet Holmgren.
42:04Yeah, I don't know that they executed that break as well as you'd like.
42:07Bridges got a decent shot.
42:08But with a three on two numbers, I would like to see Jalen Brunson keep that ball a little bit
42:11longer.
42:15Holmgren, a lot of dribbling.
42:16Bridges trying to stay with him.
42:18Hands down low.
42:19Off the foot of Towns.
42:22And we're going to have a timeout.
42:25Two thirty-one remaining.
42:27Defense.
42:28A lot of defense here.
42:29Perhaps in the second game.
42:31Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucs hosting the Hawks.
42:34That's our second game of our doubleheader.
42:42The crispy Alaskan Flounder and Butterfly Shrimp, too.
42:45Both for $5.99.
42:47The seafood menu is back.
42:48Love that seafood from Popeyes.
42:51This is presented by State Farm.

43:06Two-thirty-one remaining.
43:08Luke Dorton and the Thunder here in the second quarter.
43:12Another ten-point lead.
43:15Caruso out there with Kaysom Wallace, SGA, and Hartenstein, the former Knick.
43:22Wallace gets inside.
43:23Layoff won't go.
43:24Fight for the rebound.
43:25Hart grabs another.
43:26He's got five of those.
43:27Hart now goes down the lane.
43:29Kicks it out.
43:29And Anobi hesitated.
43:31Good closeout from SGA.
43:34Brunson trying to get himself going.
43:36That one off the mark.
43:37Rebound.
43:37Hart tips it.
43:39Jalen Brunson just one for seven from the field.
43:43Coming off a great game last night in Toronto.
43:47Gildas Alexander can't hit it.
43:48Mark grabs another.
43:51Brunson.
43:52And that one kicked.
43:55This reminds me a little bit of the half that Jalen Brunson had against the Rockets in the first half.
44:00Really quiet.
44:00Probably the quietest half I'd seen him play all year.
44:03Maybe since he even put a Knick uniform on.
44:05And, of course, we know what happened later in that game.
44:08He took over in the fourth quarter.
44:10So, guy like that that's that dangerous, is constantly going to be probing.
44:14And at any point can get into his rhythm.
44:16And guys like that usually just figure it out.
44:20Towns another offensive rebound and a putback off the heart.
44:24Missed three.
44:27Carl Anthony Towns has only taken four shots.
44:30He's made all four of them.
44:32Mostly around the basket.
44:33Nine points for Towns.
44:35Dork, extra pass.
44:37Case of Wallace back up top to Dork.
44:39He's hit a couple of threes already.
44:41Mark grabs his seventh rebound.
44:47Caruso saw that coming.
44:48Excellent steal from Alex Caruso.
44:58Dork on the drive.
45:00Bridges trying to stay with him.
45:02SGA stolen by Ananobi.
45:04Here comes Brunson.
45:05Brunson racing up the floor.
45:06Wallace in pursuit gets passed.
45:08Misses Hart the rebound.
45:09Knocked out of his hands.
45:11And it's still going to be Nick Ball with 17 left on the shot clock.
45:15A minute left in the half.
45:16A lot of good things right there for the Knicks.
45:18They just couldn't cash it in.
45:19Has been the case most of this half.
45:21Tremendous defense by Ananobi to strip that ball away from Shea Gilgis-Alexander.
45:26But then just Brunson and Hart not able to cash that in.
45:29And when they had numbers in the open floor, Knicks need to finish this half strong here.
45:34Knicks is shooting just 34%.
45:36Nice feet inside and Bridges throws it down.
45:39I'm going to say Nick's shooting now just 35% from the field.
45:4228 from three.
45:44They've got eight turnovers and they're only down six.
45:46Well, you've got the number one ranked defense in the league overall in the Thunder
45:49and the number one ranked defense over the last 10 games in the Knicks.
45:52So, you knew it was going to be tough getting clean looks and finishing plays.
45:57Holmgren's going to try another three.
45:59Got it.
45:59Chet Holmgren, five of seven from three-point range.
46:02At that big first quarter, now 19 for the half.
46:07Kaysen Wallace, it's just a matter of time before he makes NBA All-Defense.
46:13And Ananobi, corner three, trying to answer Towns.
46:16Another offensive rebound, poked out of his hands by Caruso.
46:22Rebounding numbers dead even at 25.
46:29Caruso's just involved in everything.
46:33And Ananobi gets it wide open from the corner.
46:36Can't get it to the fall.
46:37Arch-Stein the rebound.
46:40Wallace looks to push.
46:43Arch falls down.
46:45And just happened to fall in the wrong spot.
46:47That's his second foul.
46:54Fourteenth foul first in the last two minutes.
46:56We've got the halftime presented by Hyundai, Malika, Wendy, and Perk.
47:04Now this, I'll tell you who would sign up if this is the finals preview of Knicks fans, that's for
47:09sure.
47:09That East is going to be wild.
47:11But so will the West.
47:13And OKC is great as they were last year.
47:16Let's not forget, they had two seven-game series, including one against Denver.
47:21And that's turned into quite the heated brothel ring.
47:25A little over three-second difference shot clock in game five.
47:29And Ananobi almost got another.
47:31Gildas Alexander picks up his dribble.
47:34Holmgren fires away the three.
47:36And it's good.
47:36Chet Holmgren has tied his career high for threes in the game here in the first half.
47:42Hard shot.
47:42Hits it at the buzzer.
47:44They count it.
47:45They'll review it.
47:46But he clearly got it off in time.
47:49And a little flurry to end the first half.
47:52Chet Holmgren.
47:54Magnificent shooting.
47:55Twenty-two points in the first half for OKC, including six of eight from three-point range.
48:01And let's see.
48:02No doubt about it.
48:05Meanwhile, the Thunder defensively.
48:07This is the lowest.
48:07The rolling on the floor is a successful basket and will be reviewed.
48:11It's official.
48:12Well, two quarters complete here at the Garden.
48:15A ten-point lead for OKC.
48:20Shea Gildas Alexander has never lost in Madison Square Garden in his career.
48:24And he's halfway home to extending that streak.
48:27At the break, it is the Thunder.
48:29Why won't Kendrick Perkins use his powers for good instead of evil?
48:32Well, he called out Chet Holmgren.
48:34And Chet has 22.
48:36Sorcery.
48:37Hey, you're lucky I don't want to show these shoes because I would have kicked my feet up on the
48:41fence.
48:42But I wouldn't be asking Chet for more if I didn't think he could give more.
48:47And what you see is his versatility, right?
48:51Not your average 7'1 guy.
48:53They're running the high screen and roll.
48:54They do a great job of switching.
48:56But also, this is what makes the Oklahoma City Thunder so great.
49:00The ability to be able to stretch the floor, the bigs, and Chet knocks down the three.
49:07Here he go again.
49:08Transition.
49:08Trailing into the three.
49:10SGA, he sees the gap.
49:12He attacks.
49:12What do Chet do?
49:14He follows up.
49:15Ah!
49:15And go snatch the screws out the rim.
49:17Like, that's the energy I want.
49:19Like, again, if the Oklahoma City Thunder are trying to repeat, it's going to be done by others in a
49:27robin.
49:27And I believe Chet Holmgren has to be that robin.
49:30And I believe that he can be that robin.
49:32Well, they need Batman over on the Knicks side.
49:35Because Jalen Brunson, he does have seven assists.
49:37But in this game against the champs, he's just got to put up some more points.
49:41You know, one of eight shooting in the first half.
49:43But, I mean, Wendy, listen, I understand what you're saying, right?
49:46And especially knowing that SGA owns the Madison Square Garden when he comes into there, right?
49:52But you've got to give a lot of credit to the Thunder defense.
49:55Like, they're picking it back up.
49:57Give credit to the fact that Shea could have gotten that third.
49:59He got two fouls.
50:00He could have gotten the third foul in that first quarter.
50:04And, ooh, you know, Jalen takes charges like nobody.
50:08Mike Brown was not happy.
50:09He got teed up.
50:10I don't actually think it was the wrong call.
50:12But it could have easily been called a charge.
50:14Well, but it was.
50:15So, Chet.
50:16Is balling.
50:18SGA didn't pick up that third foul.
50:20But to your point, seeing a little bit more here from Big Body Brunson, as Park always says.
50:27Also, Carl Towns is 4-4.
50:29Give him more shots in the second half.
50:31You know what?
50:32I have told you I love you.
50:34This is the second game back from Inmore here.
50:36Coming up in the second game of two on ESPN.
50:38More on that after this.
50:43This halftime is presented by the all-new Hyundai Palisade.
50:48Visit HyundaiUSA.com.
50:50Welcome back to NBA Halftime, presented by Hyundai.
50:55Elsewhere in the East.
50:57The Hornets and the Buzz.
50:58The Buzz City Killer Hornets and the Celtics facing off here.
51:01By the way, the Moose.
51:02Say it with me, Perk.
51:03Is on the loose.
51:06A few minutes later here, the Celtics turn it over here.
51:10LaMelo Ball takes it the other way.
51:12Oh, don't shoot that.
51:13Pulls up, hits that three.
51:14I'm telling you.
51:16And the Bucs think they're going to kiss the Hornets.
51:18Later in the first, Brandon Miller, look out.
51:20Oh, my God.
51:23It is the Hornets that have a big lead here on the Boston Celtics.
51:28Charles Lee taking it to a team that he helped win a championship with.
51:32Now it's time for tonight's epic moment.
51:33It's brought to you by Hyundai Palisade.
51:35We were highlighting Ted Holmgren's six threes in the first half,
51:38but he's getting it done inside, too, Perk.
51:39Yeah, I mean, look, he's up for defensive player of the year.
51:42I just love when Ted is aggressive.
51:44He's one of my favorite players in the game.
51:50This halftime is presented by the all-new Hyundai Palisade.
51:54Visit HyundaiUSA.com.
51:59And it by State Farm from New York City.
52:02Knicks and Thunder, first meeting of the season between the two.
52:05And at halftime is the Thunder with a ten-point lead.
52:08Our first half stats brought to you by Ford Blue Crews.
52:11Low-scoring half.
52:12Both teams well behind.
52:14They're two of the better offensive teams in the NBA.
52:17You see the Knicks just five of 20 from three.
52:20And Jalen Brunson just two points on one of eight from the field.
52:24Hi again, everyone.
52:24With Tim Legler, Mike Green on hand.
52:26We'll check in with George Sodano in a moment.
52:28So the defense for the Thunder key, but also Jeff Holmgren was magnificent as OKC with a ten-point lead.
52:34Yeah, you see why OKC is the champion.
52:36Defensively, what they can do to you, they can really just lock you up.
52:40That's why the Knicks have to play faster.
52:42The way that they did to start this game when they had opportunities against a defense that wasn't set up.
52:48Clearly, it's going to start with Jalen Brunson.
52:49He just did not get a lot of room when he did get a couple of open looks.
52:53Couldn't knock him down to get into rhythm.
52:55Look for Jalen Brunson to come out here a little bit more aggressive at the start of this half.
52:59And maybe less screens.
53:01Maybe give him a little bit more of that 1-4 flat and see if he can get in to
53:04some mid-range pull-ups.
53:05He's the key to it all for the Knicks offensively.
53:07Brunson did have seven assists.
53:09Meanwhile, Holmgren, who had not been scoring big, he's not a big-time scorer.
53:13He's a great balanced player as he has the 22 to lead everybody as we send it over to George.
53:19Mike, I spoke to Thunder head coach Mark Dagnall.
53:21He was pleased on how his team handled Shea Gilchrist-Alexander picking up two quick fouls early in this one.
53:27He mentioned the defense is carrying the day at the moment along with Chet Holmgren.
53:30Although he said offensively, while they've been pretty good in transition, they've got to be better in the in-between
53:35game.
53:36He feels like they've got to move the ball, be a little more decisive, Mike.
53:39Thank you, George.
53:40Ananobi throws it back up.
53:41Nearly stolen and is stolen.
53:43Kaysen Wallace, the NBA leader in steals, and it leads to an easy bucket for SGA.
53:48You know what you saw right there?
53:49Something Oklahoma City does.
53:51They don't take any pass for granted, even a casual pass from the corner back out to reset an offense.
53:57Kaysen Wallace overplaying everything leads to that steal.
54:02Bridges can't connect.
54:04Knicks continue to struggle from three.
54:06Kaysen Wallace leads the league in steals, leads the league in deflections.
54:11Gets inside and gets the bucket.
54:14That's his second field goal, and this is the largest lead of the game.
54:18They score the first four points here to begin the third.
54:24Their defense can really turn around a game in a matter of minutes.
54:29Hard left open, air ball, Towns offensive rebound, draws the foul on Holmgren, and the shot won't go, but he'll
54:36get two.
54:38Hartstein tried to tell him when he went up and down.
54:41Towns will shoot.
54:43A couple of free throws, 9.6 rebounds in the first half.
54:47Holmgren his second foul.
54:55Hard to tell.
54:56It looks like he can't quite see his whole foot.
54:58And the first one that went up, I think that's where the contact was, or at least that's what they
55:02called.
55:02I was surprised he didn't shoot the first one.
55:04It looked like maybe the ball was sort of rolling around in his hand.
55:08He didn't have a good grip on it, and that's why he tried to bring it back down and reload
55:12it.
55:12Landry Schammett is going to check into the game.
55:15Josh Hart will sit down.
55:18Hart, who we talk about all the time when we talk about the Knicks, he's like the catalyst for the
55:22team.
55:23But right now, struggling shooting.
55:24Shooting a career high from three this year, but recently he's struggling.
55:29And tonight, he's 2 of 9 from the field, 0 for 3 from 3.
55:33But he also hurt his back early.
55:35That doesn't have anything to do with it.
55:37See if we can get an update on that.
55:40Right now, he is not on the big bench.
55:46Hartstein hands off to Wallace.
55:49Dorth behind the arc.
55:51Dorth knocks down his third three-pointer.
55:53The Thunder, 11 of 24, a 15-point lead.
55:58Two of the highest arcing shots in the league between Holmgren and Dorth.
56:03And they are finding nothing but twine between the two of them.
56:08Brunson draws the foul.
56:09He'll take his first free throws.
56:12Yeah, this is just, you know, Jalen Brunson lays all that screen.
56:16I just don't feel like he thought Dorth was going to be that big of a threat to come off
56:21a downscreen turn, catch-shoot that quickly.
56:24That's more a play where Dorth is spotted up already with his shoulders facing the basket.
56:29But that time, he came off the downscreen.
56:30And I think Jalen Brunson just didn't expect it.
56:33He's got to give a better effort chasing around that screen.
56:35Brunson misses the free throw.
56:37Dorth, by the way, he's down to 34% from 3 this year.
56:41He's been a good, solid three-point shooter.
56:43But a little erratic this season.
56:49Of course, Dorth has been in the news quite a bit since last Friday.
56:53The play that everybody was talking about with the flagrant two foul on Nikola Jokic.
57:00And today, it was brought up even more.
57:03There was a story in the athletic that Dorth was talking about the play with Jokic.
57:08And said, hey, listen, it's a physical game and there are limits to it.
57:12And I went over the limit.
57:13It was unnecessary.
57:15Something I shouldn't have done.
57:17And he said, I'm not a dirty player.
57:19But he admitted that that play was over the line.
57:23Yeah, I wouldn't call him a dirty player.
57:25I only have ever called him a dirty player.
57:27I would put that play into a dirty play type of category.
57:31And it could have been catastrophic for Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.
57:37Martin Holmgren, his third foul.
57:39Here's the play.
57:41And again, when you think the...
