Rapper Wee Meng Chee, better known as Namewee, will submit a representation to review two charges of possession of drugs and Sildenafil, last year.

Lawyer Nur Aminahtul Mardiah Md Nor informed Magistrate Atiqah Mohamed @ Mohamad Saim on Thursday (March 5) that his client will submit the representation within a week.

00:01Malaysian rapper Naimwi is seeking a review of two drug-related charges filed against him last year.
00:07His lawyer, Noor Aminatul Madia Madno, informed KL Magistrate Atika Mohamed in court on Thursday
00:13that a formal representation to review the two charges stemming from an incident in October last year
00:19will be filed within one week.
00:21The court set April 8th as the next date for prosecutors to update on the status of that submission.
00:2843-year-old Naimwi faces two charges.
00:31The first, possessing 1.57 gram of methamphetamine
00:35found in a hotel room along Jalan Conley in Kuala Lumpur on the 22nd of October last year.
00:42That charge carries a maximum fine of 100,000 ringgit, up to five years imprisonment, or both.
00:49The second charge relates to possessing 0.78 grams of sildenafil at the same location and time.
00:56An offence under the Poisons Act, which also carries a maximum fine of 50,000 ringgit,
01:03and up to five years in prison if convicted.
01:06In December, he was acquitted and discharged of a separate charge of self-administering drugs
01:11after pathology results came back negative and prosecutors withdrew the charge.
