00:09Permanent forms of contraception, such as vasectomy, are gaining popularity.
00:14Not only among the young and childless, but also among those who want to stop at a certain number of

00:21An influencer and a father of two, Kamil Pawelski, also decided to undergo the procedure.
00:27It was a decision that I knew that I didn't want my wife to use hormone therapy,
00:33because we knew that she does not work well on her health,
00:37and at the same time we knew that we didn't want to have more children,
00:42so it was a little bit of responsibility for this topic
00:47and also the pressure of remembering about tablets or any other form of anticoncepts.
00:52As most vasectomies are performed privately, there are no official statistics,
00:57but the National Health Fund estimates that around 5000 such procedures are performed in Poland each year.
01:03They are commercialized and advertisements can be found online and on roadside billboards.
01:09Meanwhile, tubal ligation, which is the equivalent procedure for women, is illegal in Poland.
01:14The exception is medical indications when pregnancy threatens the life or health of the woman.

01:30that it is so limited here.
