00:00Brigadier, the UAE has been under an unprecedented attack in recent nights.
00:04You've obviously done an incredible job in terms of intercepting,
00:07but these are some of the weapons that we've been up against.
00:10Can you just talk us through them?
00:13Yes, what's happening is unfortunate,
00:16but we're very fortunate to have such a capable air defence network.
00:22And what you see here is basically a wreckage and debris of certain aggression by Iran,
00:35which basically displaying missiles, ballistic missiles.
00:42So this is a ballistic missile?
00:43And what you see in front of you here, this is a tactical ballistic missile,
00:48which is basically a short-range ballistic missile from classed and the designation for it is Qiyam.
00:57And we have intercepted and destroyed hundreds of these ballistic missiles over the last four days.
01:05And if we move up to here, what you see here, the blue wreckage, is basically a cruise missile.
01:13And those threats are normally very challenging for militaries across the world to basically detect and destroy.
01:25But luckily, we were able to detect each one of them and destroy them.
01:31And what you see here is one of the several cruise missiles that we were able to intercept and destroy.
01:37For those that don't know, what is the difference really between a ballistic missile and a cruise missile?
01:41Because for us, they're very similar.
01:44Yeah, well, a ballistic missile from the name ballistic, which actually goes outside the atmosphere and back,
01:52re-enters into the atmosphere to its targets.
01:55So the propulsion system, the trajectory, and also the destruction is completely different.
02:02And those ballistic missiles, it depends on the category.
02:06They vary from intercontinental to a very high, long range, to a very tactical level, to a very low range.
02:15So they vary.
02:18When it comes to the cruise missiles, you can think of them as a small airplane.
02:25So they have their own engine.
02:27They have their own propulsion system.
02:29They have their own guidance system.
02:32And they have a warhead as well.
02:34But typically, those warheads are small, but they're very accurate.
02:40These are the weapons at the center of a rapidly escalating situation.
02:44Iranian drones and missiles that have targeted the UAE over the past several days.
02:48They are being displayed here at the UAE government media briefing as part of physical evidence of the attacks,
02:56which officials describe as a direct violation of the country's sovereignty and security.
