Bongbong Marcos to Distribute Near-Expiry DSWD Relief Goods to Families in Need

President Bongbong Marcos announced that near-expiry and some expired relief goods from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will be distributed to Filipinos in need, particularly families affected by calamities across different parts of the Philippines.

The move aims to prevent wastage of government resources while ensuring that assistance reaches vulnerable communities as quickly as possible. According to the government, the relief goods will undergo proper assessment and safety checks before distribution to guarantee they are still safe for consumption.

This initiative highlights the administration’s effort to maximize available resources and extend support to disaster-affected families, especially as the country continues to face typhoons, flooding, and other natural calamities.

Authorities assured the public that food safety remains a priority and that only items deemed safe will be given to beneficiaries.
