A seaside lunch turned into chaos when a seagull swooped in and stole a man’s fish and chips in a split-second raid.
Darren Dowling, a 29-year-old content creator known as Dazza from Glasgow, UK, experienced the seagull heist during a visit to Anstruther, Scotland.
The incident, which he says is the first time it has happened to him, unfolded in front of stunned bystanders.
Darren said he was enjoying a relaxed day by the coast when the bird suddenly launched itself toward his meal.
He described the moment as shocking and fast, saying he initially thought he was being attacked.
Despite the commotion, no one intervened, though a nearby dog began barking as chips hit the ground during the scramble.
Dazza said: “It was chaos. I honestly thought I was getting attacked by someone.
“I was casually eating my fish and chips, having a lovely day, then all of a sudden I get a very large seagull going full pelt into my dinner.
“Very rude on the seagull’s part, if I do say so myself.
“Thankfully, this is the first time this has happened to me.
“I’m not sure I’d ever leave the house if it had happened multiple times because at that point, you’ve clearly got a hit out on you by the seagull mafia.
“Not a single bystander came over to help, which makes sense because they were all in shock.
“There was a wee old lady with a dog, the dog went bananas at the seagull.
“I like to think it was barking to protect me, but it was 100% just after the chips.”
