00:00With unfolding conflict in Iran and the Middle East, it is incumbent on me and on this Government
00:07to chart a course through that uncertainty, to secure our economy against shocks and protect
00:13families from the turbulence that we see beyond our borders.
00:19I want to express my gratitude to members of our armed forces as they serve across the
00:25globe to protect our country, and I want to reassure this House that I am in regular
00:31contact with the Governor of the Bank of England, with my international counterparts and with
00:37key affected industries, including our maritime sector.
00:42I am in no doubt about Britain's ability to navigate the challenges we face.
00:48The plan that I have been driving forward since the election is the right one.
00:52Stability in our public finances, investment in our infrastructure, including our armed
00:58forces, and reform to Britain's economy.
01:02It is a plan to reshape our economy and break with the failed ideas of the past.
